  1. Thank you for the insight. I'm looking forward to seeing him play in the spring game.
  2. I'd say all signs thus far indicate Bubba & his staff are doing one heck of a job. We're finally in good hands! Go Sioux!
  3. The term "JV" is intentionally derogatory in the present context; therefore, it simply shouldn't be used. I don't support it's use when explaining FCS football. Perhaps if collegiate hockey was actually popular on a national level, then there would be a "JV" level for collegiate hockey as well.
  4. You bring up a very good point, and well, I agree. If UND football can get on the national stage, which would require both an FBS upset and a FCS national championship, it would likely surpass hockey as the most popular UND sport. Football simply has a greater following, even in North Dakota.
  5. Thank goodness
  6. Actually I was being complimentary by saying he's a 2 star recruit. I don't put a lot of stock in recruiting websites; they're wrong as often as they're right. I sure hope Chris Carter enjoys UND and Grand Forks on his visit. He's a darn good looking football player and would be a great addition to this year's recruiting class. Go Sioux!
  7. http://rivals.yahoo.com/footballrecruiting/football/recruiting/player-Chris-Carter-149701 http://recruiting.scout.com/a.z?s=73&p=8&c=1&nid=6868779 2 star recruit for both Rivals and Scout. We need good defensive backs, especially in the Big Sky Conference. We didn't have any good cover corners during the Mussman era.
  8. Absolutely. The Twin Cities should be our #1 pipeline each and every season. There is a bunch of talent there and UND is well regarded there also.
  9. I hope Jones stays committed to Minnesota, because it only increases the likelihood that Josh Parks commits to UND.
  10. All three of today's commitments are solid additions and they all will likely be contributing in a couple years. Welcome to UND!
  11. Rumors are he wants an air raid offense, so he'll have to leave the Big Ten. Texas Tech?
  12. I would characterize this as an unnecessary personal attack. Your incompetence and lack of logic is quite concerning. You continue to be a nuisance with such pointless comments. If you can't add something constructive, don't comment. Although I don't support debating with morons, I'll provide you with these websites. www.grad-schools.usnews.rankingsandreviews.com/best-graduate-schools/top-medical-schools/rural-medicine-rankings www.ranker.com/list/top-us-medical-schools-with-rural-medicine-programs/college-info
  13. Glad we got him! He's a solid quarterback prospect!
  14. Give Studsrud a solid running game and he'd be fine in the play-action game. Throw in a few designed QB runs like NDSU did for Jenson and you've got a multidimensional offense that is tough to defend. I'd go with Studsrud.
  15. So apparently Wilkie is the next Joe Montana. Some people need to get a grip... The kid has potential but is no sure thing. There's plenty of other capable quarterbacks in the region, and I for one am fine with Studsrud. He's listed as 6'1" and has great athleticism. Rudolph can coach ball security and fundamentals, but you can't teach athleticism. You either have it or you don't. Check out the highlights: http://www.hudl.com/athlete/602945/ Apparently Northern Illinois and Rod Carey were semi-impressed also (he has a PWO opportunity for NIU). Hope he chooses UND.
  16. Keaton Studsrud is a good quarterback prospect out of Minnesota and he will be visiting this weekend. I don't think there's a huge difference between Studsrud and Wilkie overall, so I'm fine with Studsrud if he decides to come to UND. He's very athletic and his highlights have him making some nice throws.
  17. Good point
  18. Jones will and probably should get another season. With that said, it looks like this season, which had such high expectations, is slipping away fast. I have a gut feeling that Jones isn't the guy. All of his teams have suffered countless bad losses and never seem to play the brand of team basketball that the good teams do. Also, his tirade over Ralston calling one of his games a choke job was an embarrassment in my opinion, because, well, that game last year vs. NAU was a choke job. One of many bad losses he's had - including getting blown out every time we play in Fargo. He has been able to recruit some darn good basketball players, I'll give him that. And the talent that next year's team will have is quite impressive, but I'm just not sure he'll be able to develop and coach them up to their full potential, and that's concerning.
  19. Shanks will be a far more superior player than Wilmer.
  20. Yep, and considering our returning starters and preseason expectations, it's infuriating. Not happy with this season because there's no excuse for it other than poor execution/poor coaching.
  21. I do agree that this year's staff is far superior than last year's staff; at least on paper anyway. And of course it all starts at the top - I have been incredibly impressed with Coach Schweigert and how he's carried himself thus far. We're on the up swing.
  22. Former Gopher and Mankato West quarterback Philip Nelson is leaving the Minnesota football program, according to Dan Barreiro. I'd imagine he goes to an FCS program. Would imagine NDSU is in play if they have any doubts on Wentz. Maybe even UND? @DanBarreiroKFAN: Gophers QB Philip Nelson tells us he is leaving Gophers program. Statement to follow on air.
  23. I don't necessarily agree with that. I feel both the Schwenzfeier and Freund hirings are the most questionable of Bubba's staff. Nevertheless, I hope it works out.
  24. Absolutely. If we can run the football and play the field position game, then our defense will be much better. It also doesn't hurt to have a new-found defensive emphasis with Bubba as the head coach.
  25. If what you mean by conservative is we run more and use a play-action passing game rather than carelessly chucking the ball downfield out of the gun, then yes, we'll be more conservative. Did you see the style the teams played in the FCS National Championship? It certainly was no air raid offense, that's for sure. Did you see the improvement Montana made from 2012 to 2013? Well they also transitioned from the spread to a pro style. We will be much better off with the new offensive philosophy. We will emphasize the running game again finally. Also, we won't turn the ball over as much and our defense will be improved because of it.
