When you aren't drawing a crowd, do something then to actually draw a crowd. Again, UND settles for second fiddle. Your low expectations and apathy in defense of this says it all.
-
I agree. Many will cite what they see as practical issues, such as the Alerus Center not being available, but these things are merely poor excuses. If UND and Bubba ACTUALLY wanted to make UND Spring Football an event to build hype - such as a Spring Game at the Alerus Center with tailgating, halftime entertainment with the band, etc. - they certainly could do it with advanced planning. Instead, UND football tends to settle for second fiddle.
-
Unreal. This comment is damn poetic. Cheers to you, my friend. Go UND and Go Danny Freund.

I expect it to be Ketteringham. As said before, his numbers weren’t horrible last season and he was playing in the offense where QBs go to die. Sorry, but wipe the slate clean when it comes to QBs + Rudolph. Too many arm chair QBs have been tough on Ketteringham. Ketteringham has the potential with a uptempo spread offense which is what Freund will run. Also, he had some moments, such as the 2018 Montana game.

I’ll believe unofficial word of mouth in this one. [football program > individual student-athlete] is all we’re seeing here as far as lack of official statement goes.
-
It wasn’t caffeine.

I suggest you do some research. There’s this fancy new thing called “Google”.
-
Why not just play all the games in the HPC? I hear the new shiny bleachers are awful fancy ... HPC is tremendous for routine practice and access when weather is how it’s been, but is it really designed to replace Alerus Center? C’mon ...
-
Right ... (no one likes the Alerus Center anyway!) How exciting.
-
Spring “Game” going to be in the PRACTICE HPC or the Home of UND Football Alerus Center? The logical answer is, well, obvious but not guaranteed to happen.
-
I’ll go with the opposite.
-
Either way, Freund’s offense will be easier to learn and understand than the previous one. That’s a major plus. Most importantly, I think the offense will be more effective. The details really make a difference, though, so will have to see what it actually looks like to know for sure. Spring ball will be great preview.

No one cares what you think, bovine lover.

RB Coach Malcom Agnew. Apparently the plan fell through or it was all just talk. https://www.grandforksherald.com/sports/4537046-ex-und-standouts-now-turn-their-attention-pro-game

With the right system, this can happen. No square peg through a round hole. 6’0” Drew Brees does great, but doesn’t hurt having offensive genius in Sean Payton either. Murray is completely different player than Brees, though, and will require something like what Robert Griffin III had in NFL/Washington (that is, all is good until injury strikes). Murray’s career in the NFL will go as far as his health will take him, but such is the truth for most NFL players. As for UND and “short QBs”, it will come down to intangibles (e.g., leadership in big moments) AND the offensive plan of Mr. Freund. Excited, and anxious with anticipation of importance, to see what Freund can do. Spring ball will be nice initial indicator of schematics.

UND RB John Santiago to workout at NDSU’s Pro Day on March 28th; not UND’s pro day (non-existent for another year) ... My opinion on the matter: pure bull$hit. But just my thoughts. All signs continue to point to Fargo for North Dakota college football. Little things, like pro days, need to change or else the culture/expectation won’t change. Good for John to do what he needs to do though. Just wish he didn’t have to eventually bow down to the evil empire. That is all. Carry on with your criticism of my criticism. Go UND

FBS recruit rankings (Rivals, ESPNU, etc.) are a crapshoot, so how in the hell would “HeroSports” know all the secrets of the even more under-the-radar FCS recruits? Answer: they don’t. The rankings are crap. @gundy1124 said it best: base the recruiting class rankings off of the subsequent wins (or lack thereof). There’s just no way to really know right now. Sorry to all those master predictors out there.

Tough get but solid choice!

Mischaracterization. I would think you know better. I’ve been ridiculously labeled as an alarmist merely because I’ve realistically identified issues which have obviously been recently present; thus the 9-13 record over past 2 seasons. Even Bubba indirectly acknowledged this with the staff changes. Freund is the hope/potential that all, including both realists and delusionists, should cling to as 2019 approaches.

Relax. In this day and age, most offenses play in 11 and 10 personnel anyways. UND should be playing more nickel defense as such; a 2-4-5 alignment would be most appropriate for these scenarios (sub out NG for nickel back). Done all over the country with teams that run 3-4 base

UND (9-14, 3-7) vs NDSU (11-12, 5-4) 2/6 7 PM
UND-FB-FAN replied to SWSiouxMN's topic in Men's Basketball
You’re kidding, right? “SDSU only gets to the dance because they play in a weak conference ...” UND is in that conference and they are losing to SDSU by 25 points! They have been swept by NDSU. So your metric is outstanding seasons over consistency? UND has made the dance once under Jones but overall has a losing record. Nearly all administrators and operators take consistency over unpredictable ups and downs; I know what I want. Jones needs to go. I do agree that Jones doesn't want to be here. Since you brought it up, he is a horrible ambassador for UND. -
UND (9-15, 3-8) @ SDSU (19-6, 9-1) 2/9 4:15 PM

UND basketball is irrelevant right now. Fire Jones. Should’ve been done years ago. New leadership is desperately needed. -
The most recent Heisman Trophy winner was only 5’9” .... Im not worried about 6’1” AT ALL. There are so many other factors more important, such as leadership, arm strength and accuracy, and decision-making. Most importantly, possibly, is clutch play. The good ones make big plays in big games in big situations. I think Freund’s offense and QB coaching will make the most difference in UND’s QB play.
