  1. WDA: pspnetwork will be doing AUDIO only. Video will be on NFHS Network, which I believe requires a subscription/fee. EDIT: PspNetwork has now been allowed to broadcast with audio and video. They do a good job and it's a free feed. Games start at 11 am.
  2. Leg-Bis girls made it out of Williston to Minot and had an overnight stay there too. Wasn't nearly as bad as the eastern part of the state but had no travel advised from Minot to Bismarck.
  3. Damn some good games Tuesday. Girls: GF salvaged a state berth I believe with a 3-2 win over WF. GF gets the gift of 3 WF penalties under 3 minutes to go and scores with 7 seconds to win it. L/B took down Williston 5-4 in OT in what looked like a demolition derby at the Anoka County fair ground. Williston had a 2 goal lead with 7 left and L/B tied it and won it on a clapper from the point. Those 2 teams are tied in points for the 7 seed but L/B swept to hold the tie breaker. looking forward to the rest of the EDC, WDA and girls week the next 3 days.
  4. Bottineau over Williston to advance to play Minot. BHS showed zero mercy over Hazen 14-1 to advance to play Legacy. Always hard to see seniors play their last game…had Pixellot on last night and the ice was cleared and a Williston kid did not wanna exit, those emotions hit hard. EDC tonight and a couple dandies: Sheyenne at north and Davies at Central will be awesome. If anyone knows a way to stream, please post here. Good night on the girls side: Mandan at Minot, tied at 39 points for the 3 seed. WF at GF, WF I believe will pass Minot/Mandan for the 3 by the end of the season, GF needs a win bad to stay in the race for state. LHS/BHS at Williston, one point apart for 7/8, a game with huge state ramifications.
  5. WDA play ins tonight. Hazen at BHS, Bott at Willy. Girls hockey: GF, Williston, LHS/BHS and CHS are gonna go to the the wire fighting for 6-7-8 seeds. GF sitting in 6 but they only have 2 games left and that's West Fargo and Davies...not sure if they'll get either of those unless their goalie goes wild. Big tilt on Tuesday night as L/B heads to Williston. Williston up 1 point in the standings but has "missed" 30 points so far on the season while L/B has "missed" 25. This is a huge game for the stretch run. Willy, LB and CHS all have 3 games on the week (CHS has DL in a 6 pointer this weekend), GF only has one this week v WF. This could very well come down to the last game of the season into next week.
  6. Well there usually an upset on both sides of the state, will be interesting to see where that falls.
  7. WDA is set. Obviously the product isn’t what the EDC is however it’ll be a great tournament. Jamestown Mandan game should be a dandy. Minot v Willy Bottineau winner jamestown v Mandan legacy v bis Hazen winner chs v Dickinson
  8. Minot kid tried it last night too. Legacy goalie read it right into his glove and it looked like there were some words exchanged.
  9. EGF girls player pulled off the michigan last night. https://twitter.com/EGFhockeygirls/status/1623862611170275330?s=20&t=-N4LpgD5qxZK7KHf9iv4sA
  10. Minot took down Legacy 1-0. Legacy buzzed the 1st and then mustered up an entire 4 SOG total the next 2 periods. Minot beats Mandan on Saturday they get the 1 seed.
  11. Kinda odd that WDA and EDC have different formats in that regard. But WDA ADs will go with "travel" as an excuse.
  12. A couple good first round matchups and also round 2 and state qualifiers will be awesome to watch.
  13. Can’t let off for a second when Abrahamson is on the ice. She’s got 6 goals and an assist this week against EGF and GF. L/B beat CHS 3-1. L/B tendy made some game savers. Tied season series. As I mentioned Earlier GF and CHS play a huge 6 pointer on Friday. The standing shows points won, but what it doesn’t show is points missed and GF has 24 while CHS has 28 so far on the season. That’s a big game Friday. Mandan and Minot in a dog fight for the 3 seed both picked up wins. Looks like Jamestown made Mandan work for it as they typically do.
  14. I think the best thing about the combined tournaments being in Scheels/FU is the crossover you get between games and even period breaks during the zam. There will be absolutely none of that in Minot. The other major issue is the Girls tournament will be the same weekend as WDA boys and girls hoops, which is a massive draw in Bismarck. Once again, Minot will run a top notch tournament, but the draw and the atmosphere will be something else.
  15. Yeah the "conference" thing in MN is odd. Take Section 8...KCC, RLF, Bagley, and LOW are a "conference" but play in Section 8. Warroad, EGF, TRF and Crookston in a Conference with Roseau, Bemidji, Moorhead and some AA teams but also play Section 8A. KCC, RLF then don't play Warroad regular season but turn around and play same Section come playoffs for the early exit. Never really understood the conference thing it's kind of old school before all the Sections I believe. --- Not sure how to handle ND the best. Pulling the Junior Golds up would be ideal for both boys and girls to make some sort of Tier 2 system. Then who knows how to split them from there. Let's be honest the suits in the NDHSAA don't really care about the sport all that much to begin with so I doubt changes will be coming anytime soon. Going to be interesting to see the most recent change - moving girls state to minot - and see what kind of ghost town atmosphere they created with that. No offense to Minot or the facility, but it's going to be bizarrely empty.
  16. Hahaha..ya. Would be nice to see both of them in the AA this year for sure.
  17. Good matchup. Missed that one on the schedule.
  18. If it’s JT and Mandan round 1 at WDA like it appears it might be that will be a fun one.
  19. Upcoming week as we wind down to the WDA and EDC tournaments. BOYS: Tuesday night: GFC v North, RR v Davies and BHS v CHS, Jamestown at Mandan (huge for 4/5 seed race possible round 1 WDA match up). Thursday: Assuming Minot takes care of business against Willy on Tuesday, Legacy hosts Minot with the one seed on the line and RR gets to travel to the goat arena in Roseau for a tilt. Saturday: Mandan hosts Minot which is big for both teams for seeding. GIRLS: The stretch run for the Girls is nuts. I watched a L/B team fighting for the 8 seed beat GF 1-0 (once again that GF goalie is real smooth) and play the top seed north 2-3 in a racehorse game on a quick turnaround (I think shots were 48-36 or something it was fun to watch especially period 3). One of the top seeds Mandan needed an empty netter to beat Williston yesterday who is also fighting for a state berth....The girls state tournament will truly be a toss up. Williston, GF, CHS, LHS/BHS battling for that 6-7-8 spot (it seems at least but you never know). On paper it seems like Williston has the toughest schedule left. Some huge games this week: Tuesday: 2 Bismarck teams square off. CHS took the first one 3-1 (PPG, SHG + ENG). Friday: GF at CHS. Huge game with 6 points on the line. Williston has 2 tough ones at North/South and at WF.
  20. Yeah that’s a nice little perk that no West teams will ever have, but no West teams probably would’ve liked to be on the ice with this years Warroad squad either.
  21. Warroad takes down GFC 4-0.
  22. Speaking of goalies…GF girls goalie was out of her mind last night. 45 saves against Legacy-Bismarck, finally gave up a PP goal in pileup in the crease with 2 minutes left in a 1-0 game. Gf had played Jamestown the night before and it looked like their legs were a bit dead from that, so she carried that team. SOG were 46-16 and it ends 1-0, Baker was out of her mind. Very good goalie.
  23. Yeah she is electric, IMO the best player in the state - maybe that's obvious based on the stats. She's a threat anytime the puck is on her stick. The second leading scorer is a defenseman who is very good (believe she drives from Grafton). Depth is the biggest issue their second line drops way off and they roll 3 d for the most part. I do believe they took Fargo North to OT earlier this year...that's a good example of a team who you wouldn't wanna see in a "play in game" as we were just talking about. For example...Dickinson took GF to OT on Friday night (lost to Minot 3-2 earlier in the week). Abrahamson turns around and scores 6x on Dickinson Saturday.
  24. Just 1-8 unfortunately. Would be nice for some sort of play in system.
  25. Upcoming week...both boys and girls seem a bit quiet this week. The calm before the storm. WDA: LHS/CHS tuesday night, both have won 8 straight. CHS took the first one in a wild game in OT, this is a big one in regards to fighting for the top seed. CHS/Jamestown also do a home and home Thursday and Friday. BHS and Dickinson is huge for seeding purposes. EDC: North v South on Friday is the biggest game of the week. GFC has a great non conference week getting to play Section 8 EGF and Warroad Thursday and Saturday. I do believe Panzer is back for GFC. Girls: Davies and WF Tuesday looks to be the biggest battle for the top half of the standings. Bottom half of the standings the next 3 weeks will be insane. GF and Williston have a cushion on 6 and 7 with the 2 Bis teams fighting for 8 and Jamestown in 9. There's still some massive head to head games coming however and GF has played 2 more games than Williston and 4 more than the 2 Bismarck teams (and they have a 6 pointer with the CHS girls). All teams still have head to heads with each other too. It's going to be a wild finish for 6-7-8.
