I see UND princess cleared it up. I did meet a family from Grand Forks moving their daughter into McVey....she must've wanted to get outta there lol.
-
Yeah your are supposed to live in dorms FR year.
-
Perfect. Thank you.

Kinda random but not sure where to put this. Dropping a kid off at UND for the first time this weekend. Loves to golf. Are there any late summer/fall membership packages in the GF area or reduced green fee deals that anyone knows of? Local coupon books or anything similar...much appreciated if anyone knows.

Minot: Pachaluk, Deschamp and Erhardt leaving on defense. Keller at Goalie. Routlik at Forward. Not to mention 10 graduating seniors. Along with Berk Thuner who was one of their top Bantams. They will be overhauling their roster. -

Legacy: Strom to Northstar. McKay-Presley (had a nice FR season) deciding to focus on other sports. CHS: Eckart is in Bobcats camp and a good chance to make the squad. Minot: Keller the goalie and a few other kids bounced. Not sure specifically who and where on that. Bott: pretty sure they lost their goalie as well. Williston hired Brad Federenko (not sure on spelling). -
That was a disgusting display.
-
I thought Minot was a threat - at least a minimal threat - and back to back 3rd place finishes the last 2 years qualifes them as such. There will be no such threat in the west next season.
-
That'll be a little more challenging.
-
Must've been 3 unbelievable apples! Yeah, those camps just print money. "I wanna see where johnny stacks up!"....."It's the only chance for johnny to get noticed!!!"... Take that $550, and in gas, hotel and food and there's your bottom line....and then when #9 for Austin snaps a twig on a one T next year, goes to the bench to get a new one, watch your money fly off the bench and into his hands. It is a genius business model for JR teams. Funny thing is, college programs are starting to run "exposure camps" as well (at least women teams are I know that for a fact).

She will be getting some large schools offering.

Hearing rumors that Minot High is getting cleared out with defections as well. With the loaded senior class gone and now 4-5 players bolting....woof.
-
places like fox motors stroke the parents ego and make all the promises until the check is cashed. then reality hits. I think there were 3 that left Bismarck this year. "they just love hockey this was their idea." OK....
-
once again, boys and girls leave the state high and dry and come back and get spots. drives me nuts, but I guess their hands are tied.
-
Leaving for sports is pretty specific for hockey. Although there are kids and families who may move or leave and label it something else, hockey is the only sport where it's a cash cow for suckers.
-
Imagine tossing that money around before a kid even hits the ice for a HS game...or maybe even bantams.
-
Slapshot hockey style coaching for one. Running refs out of town for 2.
-
It's worth it when: a) money is easily available. and b) IF you hoist. B is a tall task for any college program but if Penn State starts tossing money around, watch out.
-
That was an incredible comeback.
-
Awesome opportunity for boys hockey players. Nice work fellas.

heatdaddy had his own niche going before jordo hopped in.

Not something I can control as a spectator. Just stating the facts.

Except having the consolation games across town at Eagles gives Fargo and Scheels/FU the edge. If the Olympic was remodeled to be able to be a more convenient host....sure.

https://www.kfyrtv.com/video/2025/04/10/activities-director-meets-with-parents-keeping-one-varsity-boys-hockey-team-minot-highnorth/ A news brief from last week. What isn't mentioned is the AD announced 2 teams, started reaching out to the WDA and scheduling games, and then folded like a Jake Paul opponent when the "we gotta win" parents started pushing back with threats of stacking a Junior Gold team and more kids leaving. I'll never understand the Minot love affair with Junior Gold but whatever. The HS and JV cut kids this year, Junior Gold cut kids, plus they had a bunch of healthy scratches for games. That doesn't even include kids who may have quit after PW or Bantams because they could see the writing on the wall. What Minot needs to do is nuke the precious JG program until 2 HS programs are cutting. It's not rocket science...but as I stated, unbelievable that the AD folded, and honestly, it should be a school board decision/vote based on AD recommendations. The South situation sucks.
