  1. Hammer with rubber band groin. Wow.
  2. This might go 2-3 OT tied 0-0 at this rate. Pretty solid uniform combo matchup, I must say.
  3. damn, that's a bad look for him. don't mind most of it, but the "out west" comment is whiner 101.
  4. Elated - None since the Gophers are already refreshing the transfer portal spreadsheet every 5 mnutes. Happy - Bentley, Merrimack, Uconn, Dartmouth. Mankato. Unhappy - North Dakota (sorry) but if they hoist I'll come with nothing but respect. Michigan (F*ck no), Michigan State (respect it but nope, don't want a B1G team unless it's Minnesota), Wisconsin (not a chickens d*ck chance I'd root for them even if they were at war with a middle east country). Penn State (oh helllllll no). Quinnipiac - can't get over the OT L. Denver - no, too many already, get lost. OK - Duluth, only reason I'd be "fine" with it is Bismarck native Harper Benz. Providence - indifferent. Western - I can stomach that. Cornell - indifferent. Hope that helps. Enjoy the tournament. On the flip side, the let down started early this year for me, so no dick punches like the last 5 years.
  5. Same. Signed, Gopher Fan
  6. Ziemer was at the presser yesterday....
  7. Strikes while the iron is hot. What a season for him.
  8. Cashman’s wife is from the east coast and that’s where she wants to be.
  9. I'm at peace with that decision if that's the case. Although the last 3 years haven't gone great, SCSU the school is a dumpster fire and maybe that plays a role. He seems to have the respect of the rest of the NCHC and college hockey as well. He came out of left field for me personally, but that's why I'm just an idiot on the internet. Let's see if any Huskies hit the portal and come to dinkytown with him, there's a couple holes to fill.
  10. I get the rush on the women, the portal opened today. As long as Ben Gordon, Paul Martin, etc are in contact with recruits and the team, I have no idea why it needs to happen today or tomorrow.
  11. YHH says Pat F. "wants to comet to Minnesota." Michelleti immediately response that it's incorrect and "call me...." That's a hilarious interaction, gonna have to go with Pat the Rat on this one.
  12. Based on the timeline from Wednesday to Friday's tweet, I don't think he even interviewed. There may have been contact, but they were still in SF practicing up until the ADs tweet claiming he's staying. Not that an interview can't be done over the phone...but apparently he was contacting committed recruits to Augie the day Motzko left.
  13. Kinda sounds like it's gonna be Larson sometime today. Edit (update from Russo)....Larson, Potulny, a mystery college coach and perhaps one other candidate: https://x.com/RussoHockey/status/2036082976044339430?s=20
  14. The last part of your post is what concerns me with Coyle still in charge. Hopefully for my sake it's more of the good with Larson than the bad with better resources. Only one way to find out, I guess.
  15. As a MN fan, I'm not 100% sure how to feel on this one. Meh with a chance for potential? Had some ups and downs at SCSU, last 2 years haven't been good, honestly didn't even think he'd be on the radar. How would a UND fan describe him getting out of SCSU and into UM? AD Coyle is a problem after watching this unfold with both hockey teams.
  16. Had some darn good seasons there....until the end. Hopefully those questions are asked. My biggest beef with Potulny is he was also with Lucia when it started going south. Other than that, his background as a HC is better than Raboin.
  17. He's staying in Sioux Falls.
  18. I'm eating crow. The job was Raboin's if he wanted it. Didn't want Larson. Potulny might be the one.
  19. Better chance he was one of the players that was ready for Bob to move on.
  20. Yeah I don't think he's going anywhere, but what is the donor waiting for then? UND also has a large single family donor and Jackson's annual salary is 350K less than Motzko as well. UM will get who they want and vice versa and I don't think it's going to be him, you're safe in Kalamazoo.
  21. It's going to be a St. Cloud alum and everyone will be ecstatic about it.
  22. Often gets lost in the shuffle, it has to weigh on him everyday. 5 years since that happened already and up until this year, the team has been great since then. Has to be hard to hold that all together, and I imagine with the new landscape of college hockey, this is the right move and I hope Bob is at peace. Minus the elusive National Championship with UM and SCSU, a great college hockey coach.
  23. Yeah perhaps. He is the longest of long shots. Not even worth talking about for the Gophers IMO.
  24. 8 years ago, I heard people say no way that Motzko would leave SCSU to go to UM. Well, that happened. It was a good run, Robert. A damn solid 8 years with the only blemish being the GD OT loss I don't want to talk about. Bottom line is money talks. Pat F....yes, has a special program. Also makes over $300K less than Bob per year of google is working correctly. Good luck to WMU matching anything UM has to offer if they want him bad enough. Grew up in Rochester, MN? Does he wanna come home for a massive pay raise? Wanna get "younger" to appeal more today's recruiting style? Pat is the same age Bob was when he took over the program so that doesn't exactly work too well. I don't think it's going to happen, but if I'm the AD I drop that money bag on his doorstep and tell WMU good luck coming close. Less than 5% chance. EDIT: apparently he has a 2+ million buyout so that makes it closer to 0. Potulny? No thanks. Darby? Nope. Paul Martin? No clue what ties he has in recruiting, etc. Ben Barr? Checks that youth box. Won with Umass in 2021. Doing great things at Maine. Shattuck ties. I'd take that as the second realistic option (don't think Pat F is all that realistic). Raboin is Option 1. Massive Motzko ties. Massive MN ties. Ties to the program and the alumni base. Excellent with recruiting and the youth. Augustana has a ceiling and it's not even close to what MN has to offer, not to mention zero chance to compete with that bank account. The Gopher season ended one week ago. I would have no doubt that Motzko and Raboin have chatted at some point real recently, and the recruiting pipeline and current roster all know what's coming. I'd venture to guess a large reason he took the HC at Augustana is to get the experience for when this happens. I'd be shocked if it wasn't Raboin, and it would be a home run hire IMO. In addition, I'd be shocked if the GM job doesn't come. I believe the women's program already offers it, and UND may have been the trailblazer on that but it is 100% necessary in today's landscape. Once Augie is officially, officially eliminated, I don't think it'll take long.
  25. It was Frost's time. No titles in a decade, and clearly second tier behind UW and OSU. We shall see if they throw the book at Muzerall, but obviously that has to wait. Based on this quick decision, looks like Bob will be safe, unless he decides it's time on his own accord.
