    CW

CW just missed a field goal.

    Internet Audio

I performed a test on my internet speed. Tools/Preferences/Connection. I ended up having to change my speed. I then used the link that Florence provided (though I believe it's the same as on the fb homepage). Anyways, now it works.

Do you pay the $15 for your RealPlayer?

What program are you using? I downloaded RealAudio, and it downloaded some new software to play the game, but then it ends up not being able to load it. Edit: I meant I got RealPlayer and it won't play that program.

Can anyone get the CWU link working? What player are you using?

Are we listening to 1440 AM right now? There has been no pregame show and now the top of the hour news is on.
  7. Let's not forget that students can walk to the Ralph. Many students don't have vehicles up here.

All summer I've been looking forward to listening to the games. I even had to spend all week before the first FB game fixing my computer. And now we might not have any. This just makes me mad.
  9. I'm sure ESPNU will have better luck getting on to cable than CSTV has had. ESPN does have the name recognition and will be carrying more 'mayor' sports. But each of their "other" networks took a long time to get on most cable systems.
  10. I find it odd that a small guy like St. Louis can succeed, and yet most coaches and GM's will still not give a shot to a smaller player. Sure height and strength are good, but so is speed.
  11. Any updates would be much appreciated Sprig. Anybody found a link through Mesa St.?
  12. So who moves to the center position?
  13. I don't mean to rip on you, but I find it ironic that your user name is justletemplay and you're talking about calling more penalties. Thanks for bringing a smile to my face tonight.

    UND moving up?

You make a great point about UND's programs. The reason that UND could and should be successful as an athletic whole at DI is because they have multiple major sports that they are successful at. Personally, I've always thought that UND is better off in DII. But, reading what others have to say is beginning to change my mind. I still believe there needs to be major changes to the classification of NCAA sports for schools the size of UND to be able to continue to support and challenge their sports programs.
  15. Yes it's nice to watch FB outside. And Memorial's atmosphere was not good. Because of the track, fans were too far away. If it was cold, the fans wouldn't come. Plus, I highly doubt that we would've hosted Northern Alabama last year if we were playing outdoors.
  16. I'd rather see more people from the waiting list get tickets than current season ticket holders getting to add more. Too many current ticket holders don't use their seats anyways.
  17. I tried to watch the replay of the WDAZ newscast, but the part where FB was didn't work to well. No sound, and one second movements followed by 30 seconds of inactivity. I'm not sure if they archive and it would work better for someone else.

    World Cup

I read on ESPN that they practice for like ten days ahead of time. I believe that is what is allowed for every team, however, I think the Germans are mostly made up of a single team or at least guys that play together a lot.

    World Cup

Back to the World Cup. This was probably mentioned before, but I see that Jason Blake is on the roster. Here's the roster for the U.S.

    UND moving up?

    Isn't this what Minnesota did?
  21. I sure wish they would have won that first game. That might hurt UND's SOS. At least we're not coming off a blow out. We have quite a bit to fix and fine tune along with the revenge for last year. I really enjoy the home and home stuff (as long as it's competitive). The second game always seems to have more hype and intrigue because of the previous year.

    UND moving up?

While the educational facts listed in somebison's post are interesting, you should keep in mind a few other things. First off, North Dakota's educational system is much better than Mississippi's and the South's for that matter (we can read). Secondly, it's not hard to be considered in the top ten of your class at a North Dakota high school. The students are all around smarter, but that doesn't mean these kids are being held to higher standards. Here's what I mean. Many of the ND schools will have mulitple kids finish with 4.0 and #1 in their class. Let's say it's 3 out of 10. Yes that's 30% of the class, but they all are considered as finishing in the top 10%. Basically, the teachers aren't challenging enough and it makes ND look better. Bigger schools tend to have a more even curve, because a very small percentage will finish #1. Finsihing #1 at very large schools normally will grant you some darn good scholarships to better academic universities. While ND kids tend to stay home. Basically, the overall population of students is smarter in ND, but the #'s do get inflated because of small high schools and the kids staying. Plus only two big time (for ND) universities. Ask yourself this. If you were #1 in your class in Mississippi, do you go to Delta St. or Mississippi St. or Ole Miss, or Valpo for that matter? More power to those institutions of higher learning with great big time sports. But they don't go hand in hand. Look at Notre Dame with their higher standards. FB is losing its luster, because they can't get recruits.
  23. I think it's just kind of a tradition in the South. FB is king and to make sure everyone knows how important it is, they send troopers with the teams.
  24. It was the first game of the season. Good first half. Bad second half. Great ending. Let's take this win, fix the mistakes and start preparing for next week. Everything that went wrong today is fixable. Yes, a team can cut down on turnovers.
