Our offense has not moved the ball at all. I think we only have 1 or 2 first downs in this half and its been more because of penalties.
-
We need to come out and keep pounding the ball. Let's wear them down, but we need to be careful and not get to conservative.

TOUCHDOWN!!!!

It doesn't even seem like they are too sure as to who got kicked out.

Does anyone know who we can email as far as the radio goes?

I realized that after I posted, but then I looked at my post again and realized that it still applied. Yes, I think if they won the conference in their first year it's a success. In the following years you better make some noise in the playoffs. Though, I don't think it's as big of a gap from conference play to national tourney play in FB.

The pre game should be going now, but I just keep getting a message that Windows Media can't find the server or the name is incorrect, or the server is busy. I hope that someone realizes that it's not working in a real hurry. I've been looking forward to listening to this game for some time.

I believe they do. Has anyone got the radio working yet?

I guess I'm more worried about out offense than everyone else. If we keep getting shut down on offense, our defense will wear down. I don't think our offense will score a whole lot today. Now prove me wrong boys.

SDSU will never win the NCAA DI basketball tourney. Maybe they'll make the Big Dance one year and knock off Wake Forrest (who was the 7th qualifier from the ACC), but forget about winning it all. Thus, my problem with going DI. In DI all that matters is winning your conference (for those DIAA schools), because you're going to struggle winning national titles. Maybe one day you can find a niche sport to get great at. i.e. NDSU women's softball. But then you have to face the likes of Arizona. Gee, I wonder who'll have better players.

I think this all depends on the department. I've heard many a horror story about the communications department and how the professors aren't there during their office hours. Sometimes they haven't even shown to scheduled meetings and offered no apology. I personally had a pretty easy time finding my math professors, they just were normally busy with other students.

Suter took another couple of dumb penalties today, including a checking from behind. He might be a good d-man, but the last thing the US needs to do is pick up any more stupid penalties than we already do. IMO he's good, but might not be a good fit for playing with European refs. Does Bourque ever keep his mouthguard in his mouth? He's constantly chewing on it. Are mouthguards required? I heard an interesting story on the Swedish team today. I'm not sure on the timeline of this, but I believe it all happened on Friday. Apparently there was either a hard check or something of a bit of a cheap shot done during practice between two Swedish teammates. So last night the hit player goes to the other guys room and kicks him in the family business. I guess the guy was asleep and now he has a ruptured testicle.

I went to Tuesdays and Fridays games. Gosh it's nice to see hockey. You could tell that the US hadn't played much on Tuesday. It was fun to watch them go against each other. I think there were close to 40 shots for each team. I can't really say that anyone has truly stood out to me. Though, I'll admit that I've been focusing on certain players. O'Sullivan can score. Bourque looked pretty good. Wheeler didn't do much on Friday. Kessel seems to have the upside, but I don't think he'll make it this year. Unfortunately, I think Earl will. I wish Stafford would have decked him during their scuffle. I also think that d-man for the Dallas Stars organization (was it Nickerson) looked good. Stafford really was calling for the puck on Friday. He made a couple (actually the same move twice) of moves on the goalie and probably should have scored both times. The second time he hit the outside of the net. I didn't notice him much on defense, but he did lay some nice licks down. Last thought...Suter is a big physical defenseman. It also seems he has a short fuse since he was game DQ'ed tonight (idiot). Anyone know what the deal was on that? Might be a risk.

If I'm not mistaken, Scanlan was a goalie for Bemidji State.

I was wondering the same thing.

I, along with most on this board, want to see all Sioux athletics do well. The problem for minor sports (we are not a soccer hotbed) is that they don't make money. There are no ticket sales or concessions. Because of that, they do have to do their own fundraising. I do agree that they need a place to play, but there are other programs that need land as well. I noticed that the rugby team is in the technology park west of the I-29. What happens when another business bumps them? The marching band is losing their practice field (for the third time) when the Canad Inn gets built on the bands parking lot. Indoor track is terrible. Try being a civil engineer and having to take surveying when all the land you used is now covered with buildings. It's hard to rate one item above another unless they pull in the money. Out of curiosity, would we have had to gaurantee the NCAA so much money to have hosted soccer?

It's too bad that people won't be watching this series on TV. It should be a good one. I love the fact that the two regular season goal scorering leaders are going at it (Iginila vs. St. Louis). Also good to see Iginila getting more press. I think he's one of those players that the NHL really needs to market.

I don't think I want to see them go to Olympic. I think it's too big, but they should widen the rink. It takes most of the big hits out of the sport. Hockey is a physical game and that is why the casual fan that loves football will watch. The fighting has gotten ridiculous, but the brawls are fun. The only reason I might watch a lap of racing is for a wreck. Violence is in. Just watch the news (anywhere but ND). The biggest complaint I hear from people in Cali is that they can't follow the puck. Hopefully HDTV will help. Enforce the rules, and take out the red line.

I believe that in yesterday's article, the Herald said that next year the NCAA starts auto bids.

Actually, that would be Song #2 by Blur.

When I was at Newport Beach (Orange County, CA) last summer, I saw that on the window of one of the beach front houses were a bunch of college stickers. I think that NDSU had about three of them. My guess would be that college students rent that house each year and it was neat to see all the different universities. Alas, UND was not among them.

Calling someone a racist is the #1 theme out here. ND people shouldn't take offense to this. Parents seem to hammer this point into kids heads, so that they have a defense mechanism or something. FYI: Racism is truly a major problem out here. Kids of different colors won't even talk. This would be different from what I've noticed in ND. As for the FF being held in Cali. Won't happen again. I'd like to hear others' opinions that went there, but from what I heard it was one of the worst in a long time. Long trip, not as many fans, and expensive were some things I've heard.

If UND is changing ACT entrance scores, they should also look at their own scholarship program. The entire thing (at least when I went) is based on the ACT. I would think there is a lot more to being a good student than how you do taking a test all morning on a Saturday.

The big problem with GF is that the school lines seem to constantly shift. I was teaching at Schroeder MS last year, and they are finally getting some kids going to Central. Ideally it would be a 50/50 split at that school now. The big difference was that these kids knew they could play due to Central having less players. Let's not forget that RR was winning titles when the Lamoureauxs ended up at Central. And they didn't even play their full careers there. While various GF coaches and parents might push a kid one way or another, I think the kids seem to be choosing as to what is best for them.

It doesn't surprise me that there'd be a lot of UND stuff. A lot of UNDers living in Fargo area. I asked some salespeople at the Scheels in West Acres a few years ago about how well the UND stuff sold. They said that it sold better than the NDSU stuff.
