  1. I'll take splits over the next month. I'll be thrilled with any sweep, and irate with getting swept win the Penna Rossa and dominate out of conference- do those things and you position yourself great for both the conference and national tourneys
  2. Yon on the second line worked very well. Lost in Boeser's monster show was a great performance by Gersich and another quietly productive performance by Jost. Jost is not flashy, but he is perfect in how he plays the game. Reminds me of Toews in that way. Which is who he is oft compared to. I see it. Pool man is an NHL/ top AHL pairing player. Probably the best d in the league.
  3. Oxy- so negative following a sweep...I do think Simo to that line and Wilkie to the 4th line
  4. wow...BSU has 7 forwards in the lineup who are 23 years old
  5. I respectfully respect our difference in opinion : )
  6. I wouldn't exactly call the Gopher program "average". You can say that they are an average team this year or have been pretty average over the past 5, but the program is pretty far from "average"- last time I checked they had 5 Natty's in their rafters and a bunch of NHL alumni.
  7. He would've been in the AHL- by playing this year, he's got another shot at a Natty, and a private jet instead of a bus as a first year pro
  8. especially when they are a "little brother school" 2 hours up the road
  9. Mine was flawless tonight...in Seattle
  10. I grew up in GF and bleed Sioux green...AND I have a BSB and an MBA from Carlson at the U of M... I love this! F the Gophers
  11. good call on the early TO too. We have a weak and inexperienced dcorps, and the forwards are just learning each other. Bemidji played a perfect game against us given our situation. Cam let in a weak one, but he also stopped a couple clutch ones. Boeser showed that we have an NHLer on this team. We are where I expect, and we will keep developing. This was our first defense first, physical, work your ass off team we've faced. We struggled, faced adversity, and our NHLer won it for us.
  12. I love this happened at the John on a night when they hung a participation banner
  13. He did hit his elbow on a clean break- weak, but still did it
  14. Pathetic period. I usually give BSU some props, but I'm not feeling the love tonight...junior college...
  15. I actually really like these top 3 lines...Yon must be showing something in practice...wearing the 7 and now on the second line.
  16. I wasn't impressed with UND either. We won on talent alone. We did win though. That said, we have a long season ahead, and we have tremendous talent. Berry will get things in order. By the way, our bottom 4 dmen will be very different players in 5 months. If Louie wasn't impressed with us, he must have been disgusted with RPI given the result...
  17. Fair- I should say that I am not solving for the Euro need on the big body with Simo, its just part of my rationale for not putting Smith on the 2nd line. I don't think Simo should be relegated to 4th line. Edit to say: If between the 2nd and 3rd line the question is about adding a big body, I would say the need is greater on line 3. That said, while the Euros could use the big body more than the second line, keeping Simo in the top nine supercedes that need IMO.
  18. We won our last two games based on talent alone- we didn't win because we played a better game. That will not last given our upcoming schedule...as I said in another thread, we need to unf9%k our sh4t.
  19. Smith does not have the skill to play on the heavy line IMO. Gardner and Pogo are NHL draft picks. It is not about a big body line...its about a line that can play puck possession, keep the puck in the other team's end, and score. That's why I like Wilkie as the 3rd forward on that line, let him shoot. I see a lot of similarity between LJ and Wilkie...I'd put Wilkie on that line. If between the 2nd and 3rd line the question is about adding a big body, I would say the need is greater on line 3. That said, while the Euros could use the big body more than the second line, keeping Simo in the top nine supercedes that need IMO. Smith to me appears to be a little better skating Olson. Very simple we have: 1. First line will be intact 2. Second line we have Gardner and Pogo with great chemistry 3. Third line we have Hoff and JJ with great chemistry 4. Bowen and Yon appear to be the right combo That leaves: Wilkie- drafted, elite goal scorer in junior Simo- rock solid, good two way player, wears an "A" Olson- big boy with net front Smith- big boy with lots of physical tools Gornall- contributes when given the chance I'd put Wilkie on line 2, Simo on line 3, and have the remaining 3 duke it out (primarily with each other) but also with Bowen and Yon for the 4th line.
  20. I was just looking at our calendar...time to unf*&k our sh$7...start playing as a team. Stop making mistakes and being cute. The teams coming up: 1. BSU- Will be thinking David vs Goliath. They will be up for the series big time. 2. UMD- NCAA tourney team, will be up near the top of the NCHC and National standings 3. Gophers- Enough said 4. Denver- (see Duluth) 5. SCSU- down a bit, but tough NCHC team
