Wonder if they had troubles with coach Bergeron and the recent comments he made about his seniors?

I listened to the second and third OTs of the Army/Sacred Heart game. The Army announcer said the name of the Sacred Heart goalie so many times, it really sounded like He stood on his head until the very end. Army is a hot team, 14-4.

There’s that many???

A lot of DU fans have complained about how inconsistent Chrona has been this season.

That’s just it. He’s gotten so much rope as it is. Three seasons ago, the former AD gave him a huge contract extension (some say, making him the highest paid coach in the NCHC) after finishing 15-17, his best season in his tenure.

Bottom line: CC needs better players and it’s clear that with the occasional skill player, they aren’t able to recruit the kind of talent necessary to compete with the likes of the top teams.

19 blocked shots for CC is the telling stat for me. Outmanned and outnumbered, they played their hearts out. Nothing to be ashamed of for CC. So proud of them despite the lopsided shot differential and play being mostly in the Tiger end.

If the Tigers didn’t already have trouble enough scoring goals, now they’ll be missing some of their best players. I’ve had beer league games like this where we’d be running a short lineup. If I’m CC, I play somewhat conservative so as not to burn the players out too early in the game. Hope to h-e-double hockey sticks they not fall behind so as to have to be chasing the game early and really burning themselves out. Keep the shifts very very short too.

My understanding is that Miami finishes as the 8th seed regardless so we wouldn’t have played CC anyway.

It’s amazing how talented this team is. I tend to focus on the D core when watching games and I think, “I loved how JBD, made that little head fake or shoulder drop to get the defender to bite and over commit in order to generate space to get off that shot; I’m going to try that later in my beer league game.” And then I’m out there on the ice and I can’t possibly replicate what someone like JBD (or insert any other UND D man’s name here) actually did! But it’s fun to mentally think these things as I’m watching! Kinda like what you think about if you won the lottery.

Carter Savoie for DU got hurt late in the game. Looked serious too. Had to be taken down to the locker room by the trainer.

Perfect write up. Couldn’t agree more. Textbook interference on Omaha down the stretch there and the refs had been calling that all night both ways so they stayed consistent.

He may or may not have sold it but the intent of the Omaha player clearly indicated he was trying to interfere with Hain. Regardless, nice gutty win!

That’s about as obvious of an interference as they come!
