  1. I wonder how much rope Gabinet gets? I know it’s only his second or third season but how many below average seasons will he get? (As many as the CC coach?).
  2. They oughta change it to an open ballot. Stand by your vote, I say.
  3. Found out at the last minute that there is no Mike Haviland show. -The last one was last week. If I find anything out about Nick Halloran, I’ll let everyone know. I do know that goalie Ryan Ruck is questionable. He got taken out of Friday’s game with an injury. That leaves Vernon and 3rd stringer, Flakne.
  4. Definitely. Like most other coaches, I’m sure Haviland will be tight lipped about the extent of his injury but hopefully Ken Landau will ask what Halloran’s status is. Halloran is one of CC’s few scoring threats, losing him would certainly hurt.
  5. I will be listening to the Mike Haviland show from Old Chicago’s tonight. Will be broadcast on 1240 KRDO (105.5 FM). Not sure if that station is on iHeartRadio or not but wanted to pass this info along in case anyone’s interested in listening tonight at 6pm MTN.
  6. There’s a video gone viral of the Mercyhurst goalie who got sent to the penalty box last night against Air Force?
  7. Lou Nanne looking very interested watching his grandkid playing today. IMG_4563.MOV
  8. Mavpuck clearly must be ignorant to the fact that his team is one of the most penalized teams in the nation. But, as they say, never let the facts get in the way of a good story!
  9. Man, talk about petty and thin skinned!
  10. I’ll never forget the interview with Gwoz during the nickname controversy when he said, “They will always be the Fighting Sioux to me.” Class guy in my book.
  11. I also loved Berry’s comment about being glad they could be the ones to prevent the Bulldogs from winning a league championship since 1993.
  12. Berry must not have been given the memo based on his response during the post game interview with Hennessy as he had some very pointed comments directed at the Omaha coaching staff about it. Also, he said the Omaha coaching staff is the only one in our league who decline our invitation to speak at Sioux boosters.
  13. The best post of the day!
  14. Chris Wilkie with his 22nd and 23rd goals of the season, including the game tying goal with 7 seconds to play but it wasn’t enough as DU wins in the overtime shootout.
  15. Just got home from the CC game. Can’t even bring myself to watch the highlights of the UND game. Turn the page, I guess and focus on tomorrow.
  16. Let’s relive and enjoy the picture that never gets old, shall we?
  17. Holy moly! How did David Emma ever win the Hobey that year? -East coast bias??
  18. Man, that ‘91 Northern Michigan team was dominant. I still recall seeing them run roughshod through virtually everybody they played. The names that stick out to me on that team were Dallas Drake and Scott Beattie.
  19. Meanwhile, in other news, the ten-year Treasury hit a new record low today. Stock brokers jumping out of windows.
  20. I liked Austin Ortega and his game. I also think he had one of the all-time best nicknames.
  21. Skip down to the last paragraph and read Paula’s comments about 2007 being the year she realized that the Hobey was less about character and more about stats...Is this a dig at Ryan Duncan and North Dakota? https://www.uscho.com/2020/03/03/tmq-closing-out-the-2019-20-ncaa-hockey-regular-season-looking-at-hobey-baker-dark-horses/?fbclid=IwAR1PApa-IuCodP0Z1T8Rslbloood4qgSYF98XU3YIMrVEjnivalOu1y_kGw
  22. It comes as no surprise that he led all players for Team Canada in minutes played at the World Juniors. And, he was justly rewarded on the stats sheet with the primary assist on the GWG against Russia in the gold medal game to boot. He sprung a 4th liner with just a beauty of a pass to go in and score.
  23. Thanks! -I have a picture of me with Kevin Maxwell hiding someplace in my house. He was my coach at UND hockey camp, circa 1980.
  24. You’d think the geniuses with the NCAA would be aware of this. Yet another reason to have regions on the host teams’ own ice rink. That, or avoid having to paint over the ice and just leave it as is. I’m no fan of St. Cloud but this matter is about the student athletes and doing what’s right and making sure the ice conditions don’t deteriorate as a result of the NCAA wanting their logos on the ice. End of rant, I’m going to go grab a Coke and a smile.
