If it makes anybody feel any better or offer a different perspective, I recall many DU fans calling for the head of Carle two seasons ago as well as early on into last season. I’m betting those folks weren’t too dissatisfied with him come last April. Things can turn around for this UND team, we’ve seen it before.

Is it fair to say that UND losing to ASU may be a big point in their favor towards membership into the NCHC? Gotta think three straight wins over NCHC teams (even wins over lowly CC) would count for something for ASU.

I just don’t see the Big Ten member school presidents giving the green light to inviting UND into the conference as an affiliate member. We don’t fit their academic profile of J. Hopkins or Notre Dame. And I don’t say this to disrespect UND as an academic institution, just from what I know about the Big Ten, that’s the impression I get. Plus, economically speaking, how much would UND move the needle relative the Big Ten conference’s overall revenue stream? Why would they need UND to help Big Ten hockey?

Don’t know the stats but sweeps at Baxter seem rare for UND. I’m going with a split. Omaha treats this as a bigger rivalry series than we do so they get up for it to pull out at least one win.

This is the first time I’ve complained about the NCHC top 5 plays of the week…Senden’s goal where he batted it out of mid air into the open net didn’t make a top 5 play? And what was so special about Cruikshank’s #1 play of the week?? He cut in and banged in a nice centering pass but thought there would be at least one or two UND plays as good as that.

So I’d like to know everyone’s thoughts on what Motzko is saying to Pitlick right now. My guess is, as Coach Motzko is tucking Rhett into bed tonight, he’s telling him to sleep tight and get a very good night’s rest.

Seems to me the ref had the discretion to call a cross check on the Gopher player moments after Senden had scored.

Anyone know if there’s a link to watch all of last night’s game somewhere out there in Internet land? I’d kill to watch that game, especially the second period.

2:45 game at Magness today. Will be walking past the DU locker room rocking the green. I expect to run into some Pios players as rumor has it, coach Carle will have the boys watching Trainwreck from the stands to show them how the game is played.

I saw that a Gopher fan tweeted that it was classless of the UND fan to have tossed the twig back onto the ice. Wow, that’s rich.

On the recent GPL podcast with Brad Schlossman as their guest, the GPL guys basically said that Motzko didn’t have room for him given the # of high end recruits coming in. Sounds like he had no choice but to leave. Dang, wish either CC still had him or that UND could’ve snagged him.

Actually zero goals and one roughing penalty in last week’s 8-0 victory at DU’s Magness Arena.

I’d love to know both the weekend shots on goal differential as well as total shot attempts. Anyone know where I can find those stats?

I’m shocked to read this stat as listening to the game on the radio, all I seemed to hear Hennessy say was, “Faceoff won by the gophers.” Glad we clawed back in it in that department.

And this post sums up gopher hockey fans as arrogant entitled a holes.

GPL fans claiming UND got away with a facemasking of our own on that scrum and how Motzko should’ve also challenged for a review. I didn’t get to watch the game so I can’t opine on this accusation, just repeating what some on GPL are saying.

Yep, as predicted, lots of pissed off gopher fans. Summary of the comments on GPL: The usual petty barbs thrown our way (but we do it too), blaming the refs for many so-called “missed interference calls” that they say didn’t get called against us, pissed at Motzko for starting his back up goalie tonight, UND gooned it up but we didn’t get called, etc., etc. A few critical comments of Pitlick tossing his twig into the stands but for the most part pretty quiet on that front as that sort of behavior among the primadonna gopher players is commonplace-and accepted-by their fanbase.

I might go troll GPL simply to see what their fans are saying about Pitlick.

Did they comment at all about Pitlick’s bonehead move chucking his twig into the stands in celebration?
