The visiting Badgers fans always seemed cool and ready and willing to party at the bars with Sioux fans, win or lose.Is that a pretty accurate description?

Do you think the Gophers will take a page out of the Friday game against Duluth and try to bait us into taking dumb, ill-advised penalties as a strategy to beat us and minimize playing us five on five? -I can’t speak to the Penn State game as I didn’t watch it but it sounded like we took too many penalties in that game too.

Schlossman did a podcast with Ben Holden a number of months ago and this topic came up in a round about way. He said that even though a school such as Ohio State-which arguably has one of the largest athletic budgets and biggest name recognition in the country and could squash a school like a UND, St. Cloud, or Duluth in this regard-doesn’t draw fans at Minnesota and probably wouldn’t at UND the way existing rivals, and much smaller legacy WCHA schools with less name recognition is the years and in some cases, decades that these rivalries have been nurtured and grown. Not sure if I’m sharing any new insight but it was interesting to hear Brad’s take on this. I personally would much rather see a UND/SCSU, UND/DU, or a UND/UMD series than UND vs Penn State, Ohio State, Notre Dame, etc.

Tv and radio announcers keep saying Jamernik out of the game. Wish they’d say that he took himself out of the game.

Another offensive zone Faceoff loss. Duluth is really good on the faceoffs.

Heinert just said well done by the visitors. I’d also add that we helped the visitors big time with our dumb play.

I think Gabinet does his team no favors by front loading 10 consecutive home games with 8 of those games coming against weak to average non-conference opponents. DU, Duluth, and UND come to mind as doing a nice job of mixing in some really tough competition and are willing to play some of these tough opponents on the road. Gabinet and Co., rack up some gaudy numbers in the beginning but does their non-conference schedule really prepare them well for the grind of the NCHC? We shall see.

Omaha loaded up their non-conference with cupcakes. 8-2 in their first 10 games and all games at home…Long Island, Alaska, Maine, LSSU, and Miami. Finally play a bonafide power tonight and get beaten handily.

Savoie with at least 2 goals tonight. He shouldn’t have even been playing tonight.

And as a CC fan, I gotta say that theirs is the worst in the conference. I was hopeful it would improve with the new arena but no, it’s still bad and the camera people clearly don’t know the game of hockey as they’re almost always a day late and a dollar short in covering the play.

I say it spoiled my day tongue in cheek. I laughed too when they made that crack! These guys are funny and entertaining. A good listen for sure.

At about the 41 minute mark, this kinda spoiled my day…Johnson asked what the other top schools were that he considered before choosing Michigan.

Revenge or tie breakers. We own the tie breaker if I correctly understand that methodology.
