On his Has-beens podcast, Ausmus tells the funny story of how one year, an unsuspecting Keaton Thompson couldn’t figure out why the Lawson Lunatics were all over him during warmups. He’s like, “what the hell did I do to these people to piss them off so badly?”

It started back when #44 Torey Krug played at Michigan State back in the CCHA days. The fans have ever since carried over the tradition of hazing the sh*t out of whichever opposing player happens to wear #4.

Feel bad for #4. Hopefully Cooper Moore is aware of what goes down with the Lawson Lunatics.

One of the best, most entertaining Frozen Faceoff games I witnessed was that St. Cloud/Duluth overtime championship game a few years back. Man, what a fun, back and forth high intensity game. You could feel the intensity among both fan bases too. Was kinda fun as a neutral observer to watch that game and experience what both teams’ fans were experiencing.

I observed a UND player make a no look backhand pass behind our own net, ringing it around the boards, ending up right on the tape of the waiting St. Cloud D man at the blue line. Now the play didn’t result in a goal but it’s just one of many examples of careless play in our own zone.

One bright spot to me was the play of Costantini. Now granted, I watched the game on tv and perhaps didn’t see or pay close attention to every one of his shifts but I kept hearing his name being called. His motor really seemed to be working hard, especially after he got that monkey off his back with that first goal. I’m sure that really boosted his confidence.

Oh yah, I totally forgot that the UND President has declared this controversy over. My apologies!

And now that the hockey is over for the weekend, back to your regularly scheduled NoDak trademark controversy broadcasting.

Conditioning has got to be an issue with this team. We faded yet again come the third period. Fatigue leads to mental mistakes, which leads to fishing pucks out of the back of our net.

Hennessy keeps saying at one point it was 3-1 UND lead but he’s wrong….it was 3-0 UND.

Why not give him a try? At this point of the season and where we stand, why not? Can it be worse than DeRitter or Hellsten?

Truth! That acrobatic play may have been the reason that cost Vernon his starting job at CC. Fun and entertaining to watch as a fan but also very inconsistent.

Speaking of that season Sembieda came in, if I recall didn’t he show up in time for the GLI and stand on his head and help win it for UND? I feel like that’s my recollection.

Berry just told Tim in the post game interview that there are some things the players can still hang their hats on from tonight but he didn’t elaborate on what those things were. Perhaps not giving up 8?
