It reminds me....lots of comments about Hak not making game changes and losses because of that. But a very vivid memory for me is the FF game in St. Paul. Actually one particular moment in the game - there was a Sioux player 15 feet right in front of the net all alone with the puck and shot and missed the net by at least a foot. The point is the players need to make plays to win games like that! For those that don't remember, we lost 1-0 (OK 2-0 with the ENG). The player that missed the shot? Matt Frattin.

Sanderson is certainly not the answer, and Murphy can't hit the ocean from the beach. So move Simonson to one of the top 6 spots for this weekend and see how he does.

The numbers don't lie. He is 5th on the team in # of penalties, and he seems to take penalties because he isn't keeping up. He is +1 for the year - there are only four players lower. He has taken more shots than anyone on the team and has only four goals. His faceoff % is .487. With a couple of guys injured right now, it probably isn't the time to bench him, but with Niagara in town maybe it is. Send a message.

Luke needs to sit until he can show the coaches that he really knows how to play college hockey at the level that is required. His effort level is poor and he takes lots of very stupid penalties. I would rather see someone that gives 100% for 60 minutes get the ice time even if they are a little less talented.

Nice to see a strong winning record in the first half of the year. I was surprised to see the December record of 19-1 over the last five years before the Denver series. The biggest key to keeping it going is to get and stay healthy! I would like to see the freshman line - Pogs, Olson and Simonson - together all season. They seem to have good chemistry. Zane's play will be huge - no softies please. Last night Mattson played like he has had enough of being a healthy scratch - it would be nice to see that level of play the rest of the season. J Schmaltz needs to play like he is capable of playing - for the whole game. And Drake needs to score oh, maybe 30 goals.

OK, so a lot of you are probably thinking that it is my fault that Parks has scored only one goal in the last six games, since I have picked him in Sioux Survivor the last few times I could pick. Good news! For Friday I pick Drake!
