Going to St. Thomas would be stupid. Lateral move (right now) and no shot at the dance. If he wants to be closer to home, may as well go to Northern Iowa. Still 3 hours away from Mankato but closer, better conference and a chance to make the dance.
-
He really doesn’t belong in the Summit tbh. I don’t know how UST keeps him without the chance of going dancing. He’s on a different level than our freshman of the years in the past.

I’m just going to focus on this part of your post. I, like everyone here, really hope BJ stays. The guy could develop into an absolute force in the Summit. I think he could be a real good player in the Valley too. Like you said, he has a ways to go to be an impact player in the B1G. After last year, I would have said I hope T transfers because he was very replaceable. At the beginning of this year, I had similar thoughts anytime Norman did anything besides shoot 3s. Shows why I’m not on the coaching staff and also how much both these two improved. Having both return next year would be huge. I would guess T does but Norman will be interesting to see whether he tries to find a role on a bigger school or maybe he just hangs them up. Brady falls into the same boat for me as I would love to have him back but he may just be ready. Reid Grant just isn’t a D1 player. He’s a nice PG with good vision but he belongs at the D2 level. There’s no shame in that. Think Levias could become a reliable bench player in the Summit with a full offseason of health but could find a lot of success moving down as well. I believe he’s around 21 or so as a redshirt freshman. I will go ahead and assume we will have at least two scholarships available. I think everyone on here can agree that we need an actual 5 and a PG.
-
Interesting. If that’s the case, I believe we have 2 open scholarships then. Sueker and Nero for sure gone and then assuming Danielson plus Ndouko not making it and only 2 scholarship players coming in.
-
Is Bothun actually a PWO?
-
Danielson could return too unless it’s been confirmed he’s done and I missed it.

I think Sueker wasn’t honored because he was last year. I’m not there but sounds like he was out with them. -
My question is, why did Pitt State not honor his commitment? Seems a little suspicious.

It’s really beyond me how Minnesota hasn’t been successful for basketball recently. There is so much talent in the TC. Maybe Ben will turn it around but right now Pitino’s teams are looking better than what Ben’s done.

Go win this game. Really wish there would have been some sort of partnership with the GF schools. A bunch of screaming kids can create quite the noise! -
Yeah I’m sure they’re interested and should throw an offer out. Not everyone can make it at the P5 level and like you said having that relationship already is huge. If I was a coach, I would probably throw offers out like candy, which may not be the best thing.

Yeah Mayo was for sure the best freshman, Bruns just had the counting stats due to being on an awful team. BJ I think is everyone’s fear. Guy is just so talented on both ends of the floor. -

I hate how often I think about the possibilities if even half the players didn’t transfer. While I don’t think it’s gone completely to plan for Ihenacho, his is far from the worst outcome for the individuals, in my opinion. Seybian Sims has to be the worst. -

Winning always helps but yeah who knows. -
UND up to 270 in KenPom, which would put them 5th in the Summit.
-
And 1 tournament win there. I know Covid sucks and classic game against UMD but still. I’m of the opinion playing in the postseason and even better deep in the postseason is better than not.

Trent going 3-5 from 3 is great to see. Make the defense at least respect the shot. Be nice if Brooks could do the same thing. Both are awesome defenders. -

End the regular season on a 3 game win streak. It’s doable. -

I think this ORU team is the best Summit team I’ve seen. It would be a good fight with last years SDSU team but this one would win. -

Very smart move by them.
