Thats good stuff! Can't wait for the season to start.
-
Yes, the science changes. interesting that it changes back and forth multiple times on some of this stuff though. Also interesting when a supposed Dr's opinion changes to align with his political counterparts. If there was a different president in the White House, it would just be a different group of people screaming a different cry about this. If you read my comments, its about as unbiased as it gets. Its the whole "I'm right, and you're wrong" mentality that is frustrating, and it comes from the extreme ends on both sides of the debate. My point was that with all of the different and conflicting information, guidelines, opinions we are being fed, it is no wonder there is confusion and hesitation throughout the population. Some choose to listen to one side, some choose to listen to the other side, some don't want to listen to anyone, because its all so conflicting. So who is right? What I do find interesting, is that from traditional political standpoint ... often the more liberal folks are more passive with the standard immunizations for kids, and the more conservative side push getting kids vaccinated before they are school age. Whereas it is almost the exact opposite for Covid. I get there are different arguments for the whys and why nots, but I do find it interesting, and indicative of the depth to which this has become political. Altogether, its a mess, and I don't know how anyone, let alone posters on a message board or social media can claim to be experts on this stuff. But I digress, Football!!!

I try to avoid these conversations because there are so many Covid experts. We have been told masks don't work, then that they do work, then that they are mandated, then not required, then that they should be mandated again, and then again told it will not prevent the spread. We have also been told to get vaccinated, but that we will still need to wear masks (*see above), even with the vaccine we should socially distance, and that we can still get and transmit Covid (this is not surprising, as with the flu the vaccine does not prevent the virus, but helps). We are told to follow the science, though the science changes weekly, if not daily. Throw in the Dr's opinions, politicians opinions, whatever Fauci's opinion is, and of course the social media opinions, and we wonder why there is a lack of trust in the system and what to do. Is this a public health crisis, or a struggle for political power and control? (its both). For the record, I wore a mask when mandated, and am vaccinated, but find it incredibly arrogant when anyone assumes everyone should going to get vaccinated immediately without question and that everything will be fixed and go away. History tends to repeat itself, and some of the social impacts we are seeing are pretty troubling as well; some would say more so than a virus with around a 99%+ survival rate. That being said, I also don't think the issue is to be taken lightly, be smart and do what makes sense; but there is a balance between taking preventative measures and still living our lives. It doesn't have to be so black and white, or left and right; even though that is the case with almost everything these days.

Bring on Bama

Got it, makes sense.

It could, but I would assume if he still wanted an additional year, he would qualify for it. But those medical redshirts always seem a little quirky.
-
Agreed, sounds like Smith looks much improved this year too, which is great. Such a bummer because I had always heard Mitchell really had that break away speed. I'll be interested to hear his prognosis if it comes out. Only positive out of this happening now, is that I would think he would qualify for a medical redshirt, but those rules always seem pretty fuzzy.

Will be interested to see if Ziebarth sees the field now

I know he is listed as RB in the wiki, but I thought I read he was being recruited at LB. If that is the case, we are still waiting for Gloudeman, Larson and Zuckel as well. I'm not as concerned about RB with this class, though Gilman would have been great, and Emmet Johnson is still out there. Emmett Johnson, 6', 185, Minneapolis (Holy Angels), MN Has offers from UNI, SDSU, MT St, EMU, CMU & USD I still want Hegerle, Larson and Johnson to round things out. Though adding another safety, LB and O-Line would be great if they are the right athletes. Tough to know how many commits they will really take given the strange year. Kuehnast has nice size, and there are some intriguing safeties out there with Roush, Cannon and Bailey. I was just looking at D End and there are still some good ones out there as well. Love the types of offers we are putting out. Going after so much more talent than we were a handful of years ago.
-
Lakes head would literally explode I'd love to hear his excuse if UND landed Hegerle over the Bison.
-
I would agree with this. We have tended to finish strong in recent years.
-
A little disappointing how quiet the recruiting front has been lately. Win them, or lose them I would like to hear some answers on Hegerle, Larson and a few others.
-
I would think Pluto TV. Though there was talk about big sky moving to ESPN+, just not sure if that is effective this year or not.
-
I think Danny may expand his trick plays a bit with Brock back.
-
Anyone know if the Grady Train will be at practice?
-
If I were to guess, it would be because Orlando hasn't had an opportunity to do much or show much yet. Wasn't he fighting injuries in the Spring? I'm sure when coming up with the initial depth chart it is experience over potential, until they see how the two look in camp. Not going to be his spot until he earns it, which could very well be in the next few weeks. I don't really care who plays, so long as they play well. This team has finally started to deliver on its potential ... for so many years it seemed like we had potential but just couldn't get over the hump. Now we have made the playoffs two years in a row, finally have a playoff win, won the MVFC in our first season, and just see to have that "it" factor on the field. Bubba and Danny are doing a really nice job in building this program back to where it should be, and I'll admit, a few years ago I was ready to see Bubba walk; though that was more due to his inexplicable allegiance to Rudolph. Good things happening in GF, just need to keep building!

Well this thread is a hot mess. I thought this was a place to talk about the football season? Take your covid crap somewhere else, and let stick to the season.
-
I know a few of those guys were PWO but does this open up any additional scholarships? I would have though Kruse and Reynolds maybe?
-
@Teeder11BTW will you be giving us your daily reports from camp?
-
A guy I was really excited about when he committed, but he just never did a whole lot. Without knowing where he is going or what he is doing, I wish him the best of luck ... he seemed like a hell of an athlete. I think there were some injuries along the way, and we have recruited some nice talent at the position as well.
-
Beach looks like an absolute monster. Hope he can really step in and be a dude this year!
-
Depends how you wear it, but yeah, I think 10 lbs can make a big difference, and mentioning Tank is a great example of why, unless the guy is a total freak athlete, which we probably aren't getting. We're still in a better position than we were a few years back, but if we want to solidify ourselves as a top D, we need more big guys. Look no farther than the NDSU game last year. a couple of 300 pounders that you can rotate to keep fresh, would have helped a ton in plugging up holes and slowing down the Luepke kid. Would have made a big difference against JMU too, though it was a different running style.
-
Sounds more like a Gopher type player then.
-
ok, well I've had enough of the vaccine debate.... on to actual football talk.

I’d like the RB from Holy Angels.
