  1. That's crazy, given what we saw on Saturday. Awesome news though, because it almost guarantees he will be at 100% by spring ball. Would be nice to have him back in the playoffs, though I certainly think we have some pretty good depth at the position if he can't play.
  2. Kind of disappointing that this thread is getting buried due to all the nickname crap that came out yesterday. One of UND's most important games in the D1 era, and all everyone can talk about it a nickname (I'm not thrilled either, but there is a game on Saturday). Has anyone heard any injury updates? I assume Santiago is a full go for the game ... I believe he said he just had a stinger. Any news on Oliveira? I figure he is done for the year, but was there any formal announcement on what it was? confirmation of sprain vs tear? I know everyone gets a little nervous about Cal-Poly's offense, but I think we all need to remember that we have a top notch defense, especially against the run. We also have a run game that is right up there with Cal-Poly, and our O-Line is really coming together. I have full confidence that this will be a UND win, I just hope we can get out to a nice lead like we did against UNC. Try to really take them out of the game early. Go Sioux!
  3. Yeah, its a stupid acronym, and a stupid way to vote. But if the student want to make shirts, then go for it. Whatever.
  4. They re-drew the district line. He is not exempt from the rules....cake eater
  5. If I recall Adam Bank still has college eligibility left? Can/Should UND recruit him? Discuss
  6. Thanks Jim, As always, appreciate the response and the work you do!
  7. Would this actually be a question for someone else? Again, just general curiosity.
  8. If facebook has taught us anything, it is that people adjust to new designs fairly quickly. I hated every time that facebook made a major update to their design, and at this point, I couldn't even tell you what former designs look like.
  9. Actually, that's not too bad. Just curious, but is there a reason that siouxsports only includes football and hockey standings and scores? Just wondering why basketball isn't included; is it just too many games and scores to keep updated?
  10. My video feed cut out right right before he said what the name would be. I'm sure mine was not the only feed to have this issue. I think it is definitely a good thing that they would look to create multiple logos. Has anyone heard if they intend to maintain the use of the interlocking logo in addition to the new logos, once they are created? Or do they plan on eliminating that as well. I would be very disappointed if they eliminate the ND logo.
  11. Gotta let people complain, and get it out of there system. I for one expected this, as I'm sure many did. Still ticks me off that a school puts forth that much money, and Fighting Hawks is the best, most original idea they can come up with. Add insult to injury to see Kelley get up at the microphone and tell everyone how proud he is of the process and the committees, which ultimately turned this process in a joke. Regardless, it is what it is. We need to move on with the name, though it is a boring one.
  12. Gotta love how President Kelley is patting himself and everyone else on the back for the "good" of a job they all did. Then I hear him say, "The new nickname is" .... and my video feed cut out.
  13. I'm going to say that regardless of what the name is, the University should come up with a primary and a secondary logo. It would be smart for merchandising, and inevitably there will be people who don't like the initial logo, so having a secondary one would be smart anyway. Lots of school do this, and UND should as well.
  14. This. We have some nice players on this team, and will only be better next you with Baker playing too. Need to clean up the turnovers and start making the free throws though.
  15. Ok down by 10 to wisco, not embarassing. Bad turnovers and terrible free throw shooting, embarassing no matter who you are playing.
  16. yep, good to see that is still an issue
  17. Yep, not going to argue that. You usually won't get teams who are filled with jerks, or filled with pleasant people. Might see it more with football, only because their or more people on the team than other sports.
  18. Actually, I saw some of the same back when I was there. It wasn't all of the plays, but there was definitely a group of them that always though they were Gods gift. Kind of funny that a few D2 football players though they were such big shots, when the NHL draft picks on campus were always so friendly. I never got that kind of vibe from the hockey team. Again, I'm not going to say it is the football players in general, but there were definitely some real jerks in the bunch. I even had a buddy who had the same name (different spelling) as one of the lineman on the team. Cops start calling him about a domestic assault complaint against him from a party (at one of the football houses), didn't take long to figure out the different between a big white lineman and a little asian guy (Nice work GFPD ) Point is they aren't all good guys, nevertheless plenty of them are good, and deserve the support. Personality aside, its football, and I think with Bubba at the helm you'll start getting good people mixed in with talent. Definitely a fan of what he has been doing.
  19. Pretty sure it would still be based on the bid.
  20. Because you play to win the game? How about pride? How about confidence? How about to actually get a little national attention? If the single reason for scheduling Wisconsin is to get paid, then why even play starters tonight? Heck, why even bring the starters on the trip? I get they do not expect to win, but as a player, I can't imagine you go into the game without even trying to compete. A win might now mean much as far as getting into the NCAA tourney, but I guarantee it would mean something to the players.
  21. Given the type of offense they run, I see Ratelle and Reyes having huge games. Ratelle needs to be big on 3rd downs. I still say the field position battle is going to be critical in this game because Cal-Poly is not afraid to go for it on 4th down. So we need to keep them out of 4 down territory as much as possible, and at least keep 4th down opportunities to long yardage. It would also help to shutdown a 4th down attempt or two and maybe make them re-think going for it the rest of the game. I have a good feeling about this game. Unfortunately, I'm really nervous about what happens to us at 7-4. On paper we have a good win against Portland St and Wyoming, and we would be riding a 3 game win streak, but (as the spread for this game shows) we have no respect yet. It would be really helpful to have Montana, E Washington get knocked out, and if N. Arizona loses, then I believe we jump ahead of them. All we can control is winning, but it would be nice to get a little help too.
  22. I can't say I know enough about Nodak Nation or how it is run. I do like the Big Flag. I think that is pretty cool. Is that done at other events, or just hockey? If just hockey, it should be expanded. Again, I think this is the group that should work to develop more creative cheers. Doesn't have to all be super-clean, I think there is room for a little by of wiggle room for crude humor, as long as they know where the line is. But anything is better that most of the the cheers we have heard over the past 10+ years.
  23. I really do trust that Bubba will have these boys ready to play. Go Sioux!
  24. Hopefully Labat's game against UNC was just a warm up for what he will do this week.
  25. If we put Troy Huff in someone else's jersey for this game, will anyone notice?
