Wow, not only do I want to see that kid on our team, but I don't want to see him on teams we will be playing against. Kid looks tough and fast. Good hands too. If you can add another 20 lbs on him and have him keep his speed, he could be really dangerous.

Haha, just trying to mix it up a bit. But I will agree, these things are far more successful with football for the reasons you listed. Like I said half of these guys look like clean cut politicians. Still, I have to think someone could find a pretty good replica of Blasi or a couple of the guys.

This is what it comes down to guy! Huge weekend for UND Hockey; time to pull out all the tricks, including the look-a-like thread. It obviously served the football team well last fall. Hockey players are a little tougher to do, as most of them tend to look more like politicians, but lets give it a go. http://www.miamiredhawks.com/sports/m-hockey/mtt/mioh-m-hockey-mtt.html

Watch him rack up some interceptions now I like the move myself. Definitely, a lot more depth at WR than a few years ago. As has been said, I like a kid that is willing to switch positions and do what is needed to stick with a program. Hope it works out.
-
For sure, definitely hope it works out. Kid has the big rangy body, I'd love to see him make it work. Just not confident it will, sometimes those position changes work, sometimes they do nothing. I wonder if he played CB at all in high school.

Santiago as a Sophomore. Sure, lets go with that.
-
Will he come in next season then? Play another year with a development team? Move to the USHL?
-
Would also work well with either the gray or green uniforms.

You're the man

This should be reason enough for Grand Forks to get a Chipotle
-
looked like Wanzek was listed as the top X receiver, and Oliveira was on the injured list.
-
Anyone have any new insider information on uniforms for 2017? Additions of White/Grey/Black helmets? Grey jerysey's were a cool addition last year. Would love to see another addition this year. I'm sure it all comes down to money, but a grey or white helmet would be really cool.

Anyone going to be at some of the spring football practices? Would be awesome to see some updates. .... Paging Teeder

Agreed, that the team (the way they have been playing lately), does not look like a team poised to make a deep run. Though sometimes those are the teams that can surprise you. Ultimately, I just want to see them get there. And I agree it is extremely valuable experience. As for this team being capable of making a run in the tournament, it is certainly hard to feel too optimistic. Look at how tough it was for UND to get by Denver in the Frozen Four last year, and with the talented team we had too. I'm just going to keep holding out hope that the guys come together and find a way to make the tournament.

Do we know of any more potential additions? FBS dropdowns? Juco Transfers? I believe Jojo Henderson was supposed to be on campus this weekend.

Already pumped for the season, but really wish the Big Sky would put together an app that could be streamed through Roku. Can't wait for MVFC and the ESPN3 coverage.

good deal, thanks

Can anyone clarify the NCHC tie breakers. Looks like we have the same number of points as Omaha, have beat them 3 out of 4, but are still stuck behind them.
-
If the O line can open up some room this year, we could have a ton of fun watching these guys. So much potential. Hope the coaches can get a little creative. Jeez, throw Greibel and Mckinney in the mix ... there is some scary potential. Hope to see some guys other than Toivenen and Wanzek running that reverse play, and even they did a solid job with it.
-
Interesting that Dulin will be moving to try CB. Would be awesome to see that work out, not going to hold my breath though.
-
Probably won't happen, and who knows if we even see them again this season, but how funny would it be to end DU's season in that national tournament. After last year, and how good they have been this year, I'm almost crying/laughing at the idea of that happening. Would be pretty fun.

Pretty sure, we though this same thing about Brock. Granted he had a lot of injuries to deal with as well. So often, be a hobey candidate or winner is not just because of the individual talent, but a product of the those around you. Jost is so so good, but he need to have a cohesive line that generates production. DOT line, CBS line ... those guys were always scoring, so certain players were lighting up the stat sheets. Agreed, he would likely wear a C, or at least an A.

This was my understanding as well. Nick wanted to play at UND vs playing the whole year in the AHL. Trade opened up an opportunity for him. Worked out great for him and Chicago, but wow ... we could have really used him this year.
