UND wins 88 - 74. -
Right, but come tourney time, the quality of the teams can have a significant impact in seedings. I'm not talking about person preference on cities, I'm talking about team caliber and RPI. Heck, lets throw your in your example ... I'll take Sioux Falls 10 times over. That place has been packed for conference tournaments. This year attendance in SF was 9,441. Last year in SF attendance was 10,188. Last year in Reno, attendance was ....2,516!! Like I said though, my main point was competition wise. Right you you have an 8-8 (Summit Conf Record) team, that will likely be seeded higher than a 14-4 (Big Sky Conf Record) team. Sound like even if you are a good team in the Big Sky, you are being dragged down by the conference?

Those are my favorite Fighting Hawk jerseys!

Not sure when Lunardi's lated projection was, but he still had us at a play in game. I guess it will be a wait and see scenario.
-
ok, follow up question then. Personal opinions of the Summit aside, from a conference standpoint, why were so many people opposed to the Summit? I believe even a 8-8 (conference record) SDSU has a higher RPI than a Big Sky leading UND. Looks like SDSU will get a 16 seed, while UND could end up in a play in game. Seems to me that making the move to the Summit is a solid move for the program, and not just because of travel cost or attendance.

Doesn't Providence play Notre Dame this weekend? I would think a Notre Dame sweep would almost flip flop the two teams? Would a split be more beneficial here? Obviously I haven't run the numbers.

Question regarding selection to the NCAA Bball Tourney. Obviously in the Big Sky, you have to win the tourney to get the bid. BUT could statement wins, or basically dominating the tourney impact our seeding? For example, lets say we walk through the tourney, playing the toughest competition possible, or somehow end up playing SUU in the finals and just squeak out a win. Does that impact our seeding between a 16 or 15 at all?

Belpedio is out

Assuming that both Duluth and Denver are in Minneapolis

Where would UND expect to sit in the pairwise, IF we won the NCHC Tourney? I would assume that would bump us up to a #2 seed in Fargo. Maybe not?

Anyone know of an online link to listen to live audio on these games? -

Question for fans, given team matchups, who would you rather have to play in the NCAA tourney? Denver or Duluth? Denver is on an 11 game win streak. Duluth has lost once in their last 13. Bottom line, they are both very good! UND tied Denver 1-1 and lost 3-2; though that was back in November. Duluth has significantly outplayed us 4 straight times. Personally, I think I would rather see Denver over Duluth. Denver seems to matchup a bit better, and Duluth seem to have our number this year. Plus, it is just always fun to play Denver, and lets face it, after ending their season last year, it would be fun to do it again.

When do they announce that Jones has won it?

How many of these kids usually show up for Jr. Day? Will there be a list available? Also, when is it?

Like I said nchc isn't the only issue though. That ice is down already, because the Target Center hosted Disney on ice this past weekend. Tibbs would have to convince the target center to eliminate all ice events.
-
My wife just made a good point. Not juse NCHC, Disney on ice was just there this weekend.

Which time 2010 or 2013?

If this team can consistently play their game for a full 60 minutes, they have a chance against anyone. Unfortunately, the overall skill and depth of this team is nowhere near last years team (not that we can expect that every year). I think that means some games you will need a full team effort, some games your stars to step up, some games you need some 3rd and 4th line scoring, and some games you may just need outstanding goal tending to steal one. What I do know is, if you make the tourney, you have a shot to win it.
-
Maybe another 4 wins after that?!?!?!
-
I would take this. OR we could win 2 this weekend and 2 next weekend!

I'm not an expert, but I'm going to go with, he got snubbed and will use it as motivation to be named Big Sky Tournament MVP, while guiding UND to the big dance!
