  1. Sounds like it's still a fluid situation by him saying he's still "battling it out with our senior QB".
  2. No, no, no.....it's the "Blundering Turd".....
  3. We will see what the attendance will be for this year when the fans have 3 good FCS games (Drake, Poly, USD) and 3 not so good games (Montana Western, Black Hills St and Sioux Falls). I hope people come out and support the team this year at every game. The Big Sky Conference schedule is on the horizon. Lets send this program out of transition oblivion with a bang and send them into the 2012 recruiting season and Big Sky with some momentum. Recruits will be at these games guys. Lets not disappoint.
  4. If I were on the coaching staff, I would make Drake prepare for both QB's. Two totally different styles of play. They have all the film of Goska and none of Bradley. I completely understand why they would wait, regardless if they have made their decision yet or not.
  5. SFI has been saying that Bradley should be the guy and that he has looked good in practice. I have heard the same things.
  6. 100% agreed.
  7. Got my football tickets yesterday too!
  8. Show me where I said THIS POLL would determine our fate on this issue. It's an opinion poll, plain and simple. The poll question is: Should UND have a nickname or not? Don't call me or others who agree with me "fools and naive" because we don't share your insight or opinion on this. I have NEVER posted that I think "no nickname" will come to fruition. It's my wish however. You have your opinion on this, others have theirs. Small sample and scale in the big picture of things, and I get that. You seem to be pretty certain of yourself and you are unfortunately probably right in the long run, but that doesn't mean that myself or the others who agree have to accept that with a smile, much like we all despise the NC$$ for their part in this. So not only did the NC$$ force all of this down our throats, but now we get to have another nickname and logo shoved down our throats. I'm not into that type of thing. Sorry if that rubs some of you the wrong way, but that's the way it is. Sorry.
  9. Fool's errand? 60% of this forum disagrees with you so far. I guess I'm a fool AND naive. EDIT: By the way, is the NCAA in the business of picking names and logos for schools now too in addition to social engineering? Sorry, once again can't help myself.
  10. We do NOT need a new nickname and logo. If a new one is chosen, I for one will not purchase any merchandise that adorns it. I have been stockpiling my Fighting Sioux gear for years for if and when this day came. I will still wear it to EVERY UND event I attend. I will also still yell and cheer for The Fighting Sioux. In 30 years, if you see a man wearing ragged and torn FIghting Sioux gear to athletic events, there is a good chance it might be me. Here's my middle finger the NC$$. GO SIOUX!
  11. For those who are interested, feel free to take out your check books to help this cause. Every $100 donation adds up and counts.
  12. Maybe this was already asked, but where in the poll is the option to vote for "no new nickname"? That would be the poll with the best objectivity...
  13. It's so awesome to know that by dropping this nickname and logo, we can solve so many problems and the world will be such a better place. I can't wait to see the results. Sorry, couldn't help myself again. A VERY sad day indeed, but unfortunately necessary. The NCAA is such a frickin' farce. We are the and always will be The University of North Dakota!.....(Fighting Sioux)
  14. Nice. Thanks Wyo.
  15. Try the next couple of months. I don't think Comes will be ready to step in and start this year. Maybe by the end of the season, but not right away. I just hope he's ready as a sophomore to seriously compete for the starting job. That leaves Bradley, Goska and Hendrickson to start this year. I like them in that order right now, but I'm an idiot.
  16. Hendrickson is the consummate team player by agreeing to move around to different positions to help the team, and he seems like a good kid and I'm glad his teammates have confidence in him. Based on what I saw last year, if Marcus or Goska are the starting QB this year, we are in trouble offensively. Both are great locker room guys and team players and their teammates respect them, which is great. I know it's a new year and guys can improve, but I just have concerns about both of them playing QB for this offense. I've been wrong many times before...
  17. There are still ND and NW MN kids to be had every year. It's just a matter of identifying the right kids and projecting them properly. Not an easy thing to do obviously with no real formula. Some are better at doing this than others. The Perkerewicz's and Stein's of UND football world were low-scholarship guys coming in who earned everything they got and developed to get there through coaching and experience. They paid their dues and bought in to the system. In the D2 days, UND recruited guys that were "projected" and developed them with coaching and technique, with the exception of a few guys in each recruiting class who were "blue-chip", relative to D2 football. We need to better "develop" our guys that we get each year, ND, MN, CA or otherwise. I feel like we think that since we are recruiting supposedly better natural athletes out of high school, that it means automatically more dividends on the playing field. I would also argue with great conviction that we had a lot of better players at certain positions during our D2 days than what we have seen so far in Division 1. However, I will say that we definitely seem to get better each year with our recruiting classes and that the best is yet to come. Recruiting can be a crap-shoot, no doubt. Every coach "misses" on players from time to time. The key is develop what you get each year. Bottom line: we need to continue to recruit better players each year, and we need to do a better job of developing those players during their time on campus - "Coach'em up".
  18. I would guess and hope that Joey Bradley took control of the #1 spot by the end of camp. I also hope that Chris Comes plays well enough to grab the #2 spot. Both still have to prove themselves to get to both spots.
  19. I know some of you disagree with me, but have I ever told you that I don't think it's a good idea to choose a new nickname? We are The University of North Dakota - The great state of North Dakota's flagship university. Can you honestly imagine yelling anything other than "GO SIOUX" or "SIOUX" at an athletic event at UND?
  20. I agree. If they could just get that indoor facility done, the excitement it would build could have a positive effect on fundraising for other "phases" of the master facilities plan. One thing is for sure - Memorial Stadium MUST get a facelift on the inside in the near future. Coach's offices, meeting rooms, locker rooms and weight room all need attention quickly and this is one reason we lose potential recruits to other schools. We are lacking and behind in that aspect. UND's football future is not at the Alerus. Planning for the future should be done with getting football back on campus in mind. Getting the IPF done is the first step in that process. The obvious long-term pipe dream right now is to eventually build a new stadium on campus to tie in the IPF. Baby steps. Step 1 is the IPF. Lets get it done. "Checks please!"
  21. Actually, figuratively speaking, the "Big" sky is indeed falling.
  22. I am a supporter and have been a supporter of the nickname and logo my entire life up to this day. The proponents of fighting this battle to the end (myself included) have always stated that we should not concede to speculative "worst-case what-ifs" when they haven't ever happened. I have agreed. Well, we now have the "worst-case what-if" occurring with the Big Sky's "concern" with us. It kills me to say this, but it's time. The potential repercussions to the University and its athletic department are too much. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do not choose a different, contrived, cheapened nickname and logo that can't hold the jockstrap of a Fighting Sioux name and logo that has so much pride and tradition over the years. We are the University of North Dakota and the flagship of the great state of ND. We will ALWAYS be the Fighting Sioux.
  23. Are you having a "small penis day" again? You seem to be having a lot of them lately. You know, there are "medicinal options" for curing that. It's fine that you have them, just go have them somewhere else. Remember, size doesn't matter. Thanks Mr. Buffalo.
