  1. Yes, he is.
  2. IMO, I'd be happy with 4 playmaking wide receivers in this class if we can get them and they are worth it. Position changes are always an option for athletes like that and the odds of all of them making it and staying on the team all 4 or 5 years as WRs are probably pretty low. Plus we could end up losing current players to grades or injury etc. Attrition is just a reality nowadays. I guess I don't have a big problem with it. Finding great playmaking WRs can make an average QB look pretty good. Maybe next year they don't take any WRs or only 1? Lets be fair and honest, our offense hasn't exactly been lighting up the scoreboard lately. The QB and WR positions in this class should definitely help the future of the offense. I'm interested and excited to see how we "close" on the end of this class before signing day.
  3. Someone must be hacking his login on bisonville or SiouxSports.com.........all the time......
  4. Oops. Nice.
  5. I'm sure Lance Orender is going to land on his feet somewhere and will do just fine. Based on his earlier tweets, it would seem he really didn't want to be at North Dakota, which wasn't in the best interests of either side. I want kids that WANT to be at UND and so do the coaches. The coaching staff probably did what they felt was best for the team moving forward. If they had reservations about a juco QB from California wanting to be here, then I don't blame them one bit for doing what they had to. They are looking for a leader at the QB spot. I have to think the staff had a QB fall into their laps late in order for them to follow through on pulling the offer on Orender based on the recent SFI tweet. Good luck to Orender. He will learn from this and be fine wherever he ends up.
  6. If UND goes 7-4 next year and misses the playoffs, look directly to Brian Faison's office for accountability on this. He knows the consequences of scheduling the Mines game. This game limits the room for error for UND next year in their 1st season in the Big Sky and FCS playoff eligibility. 7-4 will no doubt be tough for UND to get to next year, that is a given. So maybe this point eventually becomes moot. The worst part is that the coaching staff and players would be the ones being punished for it. This game takes away the power from them even if they win it handily like they will. Goal #1 is to make the playoffs every year for the CHANCE to win the National Championship. This game hurts UND's chances in reaching that ultimate goal. I simply do not and will never understand this decision by Mr. Faison, who otherwise does a great job overall 'managing' the UND Athletic Dept. from what I can tell.
  7. Just my opinion... but I think this Orender signing is a very bad decision for many reasons.
  8. Luke Schleusner recruits the state of Illinois for UND and is doing one hell of a job. I believe he has some connections in the state from his time as a GA in Macomb at Western Illinois. I'm anxious to see what the signing day results will look like from Illinois when it's all said and done.
  9. There is no doubt Woods is a very good HS football player and has great raw talent. He showed this all year and in the playoffs for Bemidji. My biggest concern after watching him was his effort and demeanor when he played against someone that was as good or better than him or when things weren't going well. You can bet that he will face as good or better than him in college at NDSU. I'm guessing UND has some WR's rated higher than him for them not to offer. I definitely don't think he's a full ride offer type of kid, but that's just my opinion. He definitely has potential. Good luck to the kid.
  10. Great win, ladies! Congrats!
  11. Another GREAT comment by on of our GREAT hockey (only) fans.
  12. We know all you care about is the name, logo and hockey. We know this. We get it. You couldn't care less about any other sport on campus and everything is football's fault regarding the name and logo. Just stay over in the hockey forum and stop making comments over here that make no sense. All you do is troll over here and take pot shots.
  13. 3rd quarter South Dakota 7 Air Force 37 1st quarter Northern Colorado 7 Lindenwood 3 Would really love to see Southern Utah take it to the bunnies today.
  14. Great job gals. Now take care of business against John Deere Tech.
  15. Right, I agree. Total BS holding call. Other than that, I thought the officials did alright.
  16. There is a new rule now in college football that makes it illegal to come across the ball and cut block. So for instance, one of our bread and butter plays has always been the inside zone "swipe" play where the fullback starts on one side of the formation and comes across to the other side after the snap to block the backside DE or OLB. To change things up a bit and slow down the defender, every now and then the FB used to throw a cut block to keep him honest and slow him down. Thanks to the NC$$, that is no longer an option. Ruining the college football game once again. Unfortunately, I believe that is one of the penalties that Solum was called for.
  17. Ok, last post on this, I promise... In no way, shape or form did I say an FBS win is more important than FCS success. All i said was that we need a signature FBS win. It could not do anything but HELP our cause with recruiting. I never said I thought it was more important than doing well against FCS competition. If you think I said otherwise, go back and re-read my posts. Having said that, can't wait to watch the game tomorrow at the Alerus. Hopefully we have a full house. GO SIOUX!
  18. Again Darell, show me where I said a signature FBS win makes FCS success? Do you just like to argue?
  19. I guess I didn't know I had to choose one or the other. I never said I would choose a signature FBS win over FCS and playoff success. All I am saying is that it matters to recruits more than you give credit for. A signature FBS win plus FCS success is a bonus no matter how you look at it.
  20. Darell, you may not care about the signature FBS wins and that really doesn't matter. What does matter is that recruits think it's a big deal.
  21. Considering the fact that Fargo State hasn't beaten UNI yet with a full allotment of D1 schollies makes our win in 2006 against UNI as a D2 school that much more impressive. But you're right, we need a signature win against a FBS school. Just goes to show the potential we have as a FCS school. We still have a lot of room for improvement. That's the promising part. We are sitting pretty far below our "ceiling" still. Exciting.
  22. Wow. I forget how impressive he was in JUCO. I see a confident kid who has good pocket presence, can look off half the field, then throw back to the other and is very accurate on his deep balls. The only question is the competition and level of play. We will see. I too hope for more of that highlight film, starting with the Drake Bulldogs on Thursday evening. GO SIOUX!!!
  23. 3 hour drive each way for me.....ill be there. GO SIOUX!!!
  24. Sheesh. Who would you start against Idaho if Bradley throws 4 TD passes and 1 int against Drake?
  25. Why not? That's what the school to the south said and did just a few years ago I thought?
