If it's a childish & weak comment, Happy will probably be the author. He has the ability to write informed stuff, but chooses to provoke people instead.

Thx for putting that together. Liked the question about taking it easy on Sandelin

That's why we wear different-shaded glasses Your reasoning is sound, but so is Blais'. UND plays the Gophers, CC, Denver, UMD, St. Cloud on a regular basis & these games are usually intense. Why is it necessary to wear the guys down even more by playing an additional 5-6 difficult non-conference games? These players are practically semi-professionals with their level of play, but they're still college kids & aren't fully physically developed to play a super-rigorous schedule, imo. I think Blais' quote at the end of Pat's article sums it up: not too difficult & not too easy. I do agree, though, that an all-easy schedule would be detrimental to the players' developments & their preparation for the postseason.

I took that statement about "taking care of business" as pertaining to the non-conference schedule. I don't think he was referring to the season in general. I don't blame his scheduling preferences: Why play only top-caliber teams like BC, Maine, BU, etc. when you stand a chance of losing some of those games and the fact that the WCHA season is grueling enough?

Just having some fun with this latest marketing gimmick. I wouldn't venture too far into the student section, either. Never can tell what a few inebriated Sioux fans might do. . What would pi$$ me off if I attended games there: Missing a goal because some dancing bear was doing jumping jacks in the aisle..

No, but I can only imagine They'll probably hire some hyperactive guy who'll be bouncing around like a nervous ball of energy, shaming the school & its proud tradition. I'm thinking they're doing this to entertain the kiddies during intermission. This will sure instill fear in our opponents: a big fat cuddly polar bear..oooooh.

"We're not worthy, we're not worthy." Great job, PCM. Good to see Scott Foyt playing to shore up our defense. Anyone know if he's made the team yet? Never heard of Brad Volrath; what position does he play & does anyone have any history on him? I'm assuming he made the cut if he's in the team picture..just guessing..

Ouch, it hurts just looking at it. Domi kinda looks like the Greek god, Atlas, the way he's poised there.
-
I hope this is a joke. A polar bear? This is about as gay as it gets. Some overweight, white-colored Barney prancing around will really be good for the team's image. Some Sioux students should kidnap him during intermission & beat him mercilessly. No more mascot. Problem solved Seriously, bad idea.

A Sioux fan on USCHO reported that the Green team did quite well tonight by winning 4-0. He said that the freshmen, esp. Porter, really shined. Anyone else have a chance to see the game?
-
ScottM, Who's that guy dishing out the whoopa$$ in your avatar? Looks like Ty Domi to me. Maybe in a couple years you can have one of D. Hale doing the same...

I guess the curse is on the Gophers this year. Doesn't the team picked first in the preseason poll traditionally have troubles?
-
Who? Oh them. Besides the revenge factor, I don't think anyone cares to see those wankers again. I chose Michigan State--we can't seem to lose against those guys--always seem to have their number.

Someone forget to hug you today, Sunshine? Lighten up, season starts next week.

The Sioux need only 3 solid scoring lines, right? If not mistaken, the 4th line is a checking line so it's not like we need 12 Gretzkys out there. I think if we can match up well against the Gophers in lines 1-3 we should be alright.

Great stuff, PCM. You da man! Our intrepid reporter givin' us the inside scoop. Don't like this new HIPA rule at all. If/when a player gets injured we'll probably be clueless as to what kind of injury it is & how long he'll be out.

Take a cold shower & buy a mag with a lot of graphic pictures...this may help relieve some "stress".

If I've learned anything in 36 years, it's that you can't change people's fixed delusions. Pump them full of psychotropic meds, counter their false beliefs with facts, etc., it ain't gonna work. If some Duluth fans think their team will finish ahead of the Sioux, fine, let them have their preseason fantasies. UND tanked it the final 2 months last year & still finished ahead of the Bulldogs-- 1 goalie & a few forwards won't carry them through the entire season, imo. They may surprise in the beginning, but their lack of depth will be telling in February. We'll see. Every fan is entitled to be optimistic, even UAA fans .

Then I'd have to go from regular Bayer to ultra Tylenol For crying out loud, sagard, when're you gonna cross over to our side? You seem to meet the minimum qualifications of the average Sioux fan: knowledgeable, highly intelligent, enlightened & always respectable towards other fans. You can submit your application anytime...

Where is St. Thomas again? Maybe that accounts for some of the homerism. Whatever, 1 week to hockey...

INCH is to Sioux hockey as the N.Y. Times is to right-wing Republicans--incompatible. An unbiased H.E. observer would tell you the same thing. Their agenda is to sugarcoat Gopher hockey, but at the same time sprinkle some niceties about other programs to make it sound somewhat impartial. That's understandable considering who the owners are. It seems like the goalie concern has taken on a life of its own. The USCHO beat writer mentions it every week in his articles, a few disgruntled Sioux fans (including me) talk about it quite often, Gopher fans pick up on this & exaggerate it & before you know it we have a crisis on our hands. I think the more important concern is frequent, balanced scoring that'll take us higher & further...

Farce, Don't really understand your logic. Wishing bad luck on a team because of something that's outside their control?? Gee, I had a bad day at work so I think I'll kick my helpless puppy around... Pretty sure that Blais, Parise or anyone on the team doesn't control ticket prices. Sounds like you have misdirected anger. Write hatemail to the administration but leave the team out of it. Go Sioux!

Here you go, redwing77... GRAND FORKS, N.D. -- It

The only upside to the Gophers 3-peating is that their fans' heads would get so big they'd probably explode. I don't think "guys" like Scooby, Happy & the rest of Clowns, Incorporated would have enough self control after another NC. Seriously, Goon, you pretty confident about them not going all the way again this year? Is your prediction based on a 900# psychic phonecall or a gut feeling? I'd rather see the mighty Beavers go all the way...

Tell The Don his days are numbered & that he may get more than a spaghetti dinner next time he visits his favorite Italian restaurant.
