I dunno. I'd still run the ball if I were Pittsburgh. Right now here's how I'd put it: Run Game: Advantage Pittsburgh Pass Game: Advantage GB Pass D: Push Run D: Advantage Pittsburgh Everyone's high on GB's D but I'm not even if I am a Pack fan. They give up a TON of yards...especially in the 4th Quarter. This bend not break D doesn't work when they firm up once the opponent gets into field goal range. You firm up outside of field goal range to prevent points.

Why would the league suspend DiPietro? He got into a goaltender fight with Johnson, it looked like Johnson only got one punch in and now DiPietro has a broken bone in his face and a swollen knee. IR here he comes again. No suspension necessary. The guy is made of glass. As for DaveK and his assertions on the Pens... meh. I don't look to Dave for objective commentary on hockey... ESPECIALLY if one of the parties involved wears a Penguins sweater. But, yeah, DiPietro did commit a rather cheap fine. More to the point though.... Last night in the Lightning vs. Caps tilt, Lightning Goaltender Rolison and Caps forward Hendricks got into a kurfuffle when Hendricks "Fell" onto Dwayne while Dwayne was down. It was the best staged fall I've seen in quite some time. And what was amazing is that Hendricks has a future in the WWE as he dropped The Rock's "People's Elbow" to Rolison's head. It luckily was a glancing blow and not a big deal, but.... Rolison got called as did Hendricks. Sorry, folks. 4 on 4 was no the right call. It should have gone like this: TB Roloson 2 MIN ROUGHING WAS Hendricks 2 MIN GOALTENDER INTERFERENCE WAS Hendricks 2 MIN Contact to the Head Elbowing TB Powerplay

Maybe.... But Calgary under Sutter's control? I don't think anyone is safe from the Sutters.

I'd be interested in your opinion on this if Jenson were the UND QB.... but I agree... mostly. First MIP, I agree. First DUI? Nope. DUI is a different beast. All it takes is one drunk driver to do serious harm. It doesn't matter if it is his first or his 23rd.

I'm actually going to be in the Twin Cities for my mom's 60th birthday. Although I'll be unable to make it to most of the Final Five, I'll be able to make it to the Championship Game if I can find tickets! I'm hoping to find a decent seat at the Championship Game! I'm willing to pay resale price for it. Stubhub has tickets listed at around $100/each. If anyone is willing to help me out, I'd be very appreciative!

Fighting Sioux Hockey Line Nicknames
redwing77 replied to GO_FIGHTING_SIOUX_GO's topic in Men's Hockey
DOT line? Duncan Oshie Toews? Though this nickname, I'm fairly sure, started on SS.com and stayed on SS.com... -
On the other hand: It all depends upon who drafts Grimaldi. Some teams are better about the NCAA than others.

UND sophomore forward Danny Kristo is out indefinitely after sustainin

Thanks for being classy. I know many kids don't think this way but, better a suspension and legal trouble then potentially losing a year if not more and be in medical trouble. -
I was a very close monitor of the Fargo Library project and things can get rather out of hand in these cases. The truth is, many Fargo people (luckily less than 30% of voting residents) don't care at all about the library. Some business people tried to use the Library as a stepping stone for scamming the City of Fargo into paying at least part of private business ventures. The truth is, libraries benefit communities. And having spent a considerable time at the Grand Forks Library, I can honestly tell you that the place is a dump. What they do there is outstanding considering that the building was a failure when it was originally built. The fact that it is structurally sound was remarkable. Now, contrast that to the new Fargo Main branch that just opened. This building is amazing, and I'm not even talking about the aesthetics. It is not Grand Forks' job to compete with Fargo in this matter, but there comes a time when upgrading is a necessity rather than a luxury. I'd love to see Grand Forks Public Library relocate to a location that is much easier to access and is more visible than its current location. I agree that there should be a fundraising campaign to bolster the city's contribution but I don't think it should constitute the entirity or even majority of the project. Doubtless, with the financial situation, the chances of successfully building a nonprofit organization setup such as a public library and maintaining it would be incredible. Something not even Fargo was able to accomplish. I say do what it takes to build a new library. And be thankful that you don't live in Omaha. There's ridiculous taxes going on here.

I can see that interpretation but I wonder if he's just not keeping every avenue open. I don't think many players entering the draft would turn down an opportunity to go straight to the NHL rather than working their way up through the AHL/ECHL or Major Juniors or even College. However, those types of players are VERY rare. Grimaldi is a special player and he knows it. However, I don't think he's pulling a Jack Campbell here. He said "He'd like to..." or "I see myself..." Those are goal statements and not definitive. The only thing that is definitive is that, if Grimaldi turns out as special as he is projected to be, he will indeed be at best a 2 year player for UND.

If he does, then ARodg will certainly get his choice of women.... willing women may be another story.

Michael Parks - USHL Offensive POTW Oh, and Jordan Schmaltz is the Defensive POTW.

Should Bye sweep UND, should we consider firing Hakstol?
-
This is going to be a tough weekend for UND. Thus far, this season, Bye has gone unbeaten. True, they haven't won any games, but no wins, no losses, and a bunch of ties is somewhat impressive. I think UND will be lucky to get 2 points this weekend.

Crosby decides not to return from his latest injury. That's about it. Bettman dares not take any of the spotlight away from his God players Ovie and Crosby.

How DARE you try to smudge the Great Blais!!!!!!

Time to just watch football and DRINK!

The Bears were a great story.... but I can't stand Cutler. Rex Ryan is entertaining in a childish way. He's also not afraid to be less than professional towards teams he doesn't like. On the other hand, I could care less about Rex Ryan. Next season, we get the chance to hear the "All Tebow All the Time" Channel out of Denver. -
As much as I hate to say it (and make it easy to predict what I'm going to say), I think as many rules that can be changed to eliminate the officials from making their own interpretations and judgments, the better. Yeah, it might ruin the flow of the game, but we don't have the competent officials that we would need to be able to allow the on ice officials to make their own judgments on plays that could determine outcomes of games or at least affect the outcome indirectly.

They did it in Omaha.

Something has. Like I said elseThread, you don't make a drop in performance like he has without something affecting him.
-
I'm not. I'd still like Eidsness to see playing time. I'd also like Eidsness to seek more help. You can't put up the type of ability he has for 2 straight years and then suddenly lost it like he has without SOMETHING being up. Every time I think about Eidsness I think that there's something more to what's going on with him than simply playing poorly in game situations.

Hey! I just found the quickest way to turn UND into MTU or better yet, the American International of the WCHA! How you ask? Let fans determine whether to retain or fire a coach. Naw, we'd probably turn into something like UAA or MSUM if we did that. Give fans personnel control (who plays and who doesn't) on top of that. There's the 3-5 win seasons 5+ straight years.
-
Great! All I ask is this: You can play exhibition or nonconference games just about anywhere but... PLEASE: NO outdoor games NO games in a venue where it doesn't belong (Ford Field is a great example) unless it's for the Frozen Four (and even then I wouldn't like where it is held).

Absolutely. I double agree with the "Mavs sweep" scenario.

Stafford went out injured tonight... I don't know if he returned. He went out in the first period tonight and still wasn't back at the second intermission. Too bad. NHL NEtwork commentators commented that Stafford was one of the major keys to the Sabres beating Montreal. He only played 2 1 minute shifts in the first.
