Seriously, I wish I had an M5 or even an M3 But I'm going into education so I doubt I'll ever drive one. Forget about owning one.
-
There were rumors that something was up with Massen off the ice other than the injury. If that's the case, never doubt the power of that either. Isn't that what happened to Kollar?
-
I agree. Robbie Earl sure surprised us.

In case anyone wants to know: Holy Cross is located in Massachusetts and is known as the Crusaders. Their color is Royal Purple. The Purple Crusaders. What's with the crappy conferences' dominant school color being purple? (Niagara, Holy Cross, Canisius) Good grief. Their coaching staff is ripe for taunting. Assistant Coaches are Terence Butt, Brian Akashian, and John Binkoski. And Regan is their AD. Our student section seats more than their entire arena. But their enrollment is 2700, so it's pretty close as far as per school population. The cool thing (I guess) about them is that their head coach is relatively young, having graduated from Holy Cross in 1989. I'm always for youthful head coaches provided they can do the job. Pearl is, seemingly, the real deal for HC.

I would actually think that the West would play the East and the NE would play the Midwest. That would make the most sense, especially if you wanted the best chance of at least one HE team making the NC game.
-
Get real Diggler. This is what my car looks like (sans the pimpin'):
-
I'm going to go with Bob and just say that Jimmy Howard by himself constitutes a NC title. Realistically speaking: West: UND Midwest: Minny The other two (Maine, Michigan, UW, or BC) are irrelevant because these two above will play for the NC.
-
Looks like morley and WPoS are jealous already. Mapletoft couldn't hold a candle to my ride!
-
No Confidence votes? Gee, I remember back in the day that was the kiss of death for a career. Makes me feel better about if I end up a professor and I make a mistake, I'll still be able to become ND's Chancellor
-
No. Both goaltenders were sub par. The real difference was TURNOVERS. Every time (seeminly) UND turned it over it was in the Sioux zone. And every time (seemingly) the Sioux paid for it.
-
I totally agree. I'll tell you: The best moments in NCAA hockey came in 2000 just after the game when Jack Edwards had to think fast to find things to say after BC lost. The other time was Minny beating UNH so soundly that the commentators almost sounded depressed. I DON'T want to see a threepeat, but I'd rather see that then Bob Norton saying "I told you Maine would win!"
-
Definitely. I was incorrect earlier. I said he was a BC homer. I'm wrong. He's a Maine homer. My bad. He also has a soft spot for Holy Cross, of all places. Like I said, if Frank Mazzocco knew hockey better and was from out east, you'd have this guy in a nutshell. Now that I've said this, let's hope the game calling he does proves me wrong.
-
I'm thinking there are many who hope that is the case, but who knows. Notre Dame could beat the Gophers (theoretically) and then what would we do? I think it would be shocking actually. And like York, the Sioux and the Gophers can look to next season as it has been announced that Maine will win the NC because no one can beat Jimmy Howard. Whew. That takes the stress off.
-
Bah. How'd I miss that! So no surprises really. But Maine vs UMASS the only highlights shown other than a short Minny montage going into the break. I'm pleased that Notre Dame made the tourney. It'd be a gas if they wiped out the Midwest regional and went to the FF. I'd be VERY VERY surprised if it happened, but it would be interesting.
-
USCHO predictions are so far correct. They've now down all but the Midwest. Oh yeah, and the dude who is commentating has ties to Holy Cross. Gosh, the first time ever and HC is going to get some serious runs. They just introduced the Midwest. Minnesota vs Notre Dame UMD vs MSU
-
I love the show so far. That Adam guy after Ohio State vs Wisconsin was announced he simply says "Yeah, but let's go back to Harvard..." I'm sayiing Damn straight! There's no hockey except in New England. So I recommend they simply list the West and Midwest regionals out on the teleprompter and cut the show off so that they can cut for a special NBA Hoops show or something to do with the NCAA Women's BBall At least Jack Edwards isn't doing the commentating, but the guy who is looks to be the Frank Mazzocco of BC

You know, I'm not so sure about that either. It's a Catch 22. I don't think bringing in all that talent would work. If you need references, talk to PCM about his NY Rangers (You won't get to Glenn Sather... PCM probably could through his connections but...). I think the key is drafting good, bringing in playmakers who can contribute to the team in more than just scoring goals, and a better playbook. Install the Devils stylings on draft day, the Red Wings or Avalanche playbook, and collect free agents and trades like well... everyone has their flair with this, but it is best to be aggressive.
-
And there are two Potulnys so the total would be 8 ND Natives. I agree with jloos. And, no, I don't believe Adam is the worst WCHA ref. He made, imo, two bogus calls this game. He did call too many penalties, true, but they were penalties. Sorry, Don Adam haters, Todd Anderson owns the worst ref bill. Just be happy we didn't have him all year long (excpet for the HoF game).
-
With USCHO predictions, it looks like Midwest is the toughest regional. None of those teams I'd like to meet in the first two rounds. On paper, the West and Easat regionals seem to be the easiest track to the Frozen Four. The Northeast will be the highest attendance wise.

And I took my 79 Chevette out of storage today! Man, my ride is fly! Check this out: 1979 Chevy Chevette with deep purple metallic paint job, dropped with deep dish gold wire rims. Faux red shaggy velour interior with fuzzy dice on the rear view. Got a kick arse stereo in it too. Did I mention hydraulics? Gold highlights around the grill, headlights, and tailights. And a serious Blingbling hood ornament. I'm fly!

Oh, and there have been many MVPs named that were on losing teams. Unfortunately I'm tired and not too stat savvy. I'm sure someone can find it out. MVP is the best player on the ice, period. It isn't supposed to be the best player on the ice on the winning team unless he directly contributed to the victory in such a manner that anyone else would not have been able to do so. Briggs nor Brandt were the best players on the ice, so they shouldn't have been MVP. Who had the most points in the game? Parise has at least 4 (1g3a). UND may have lost, but if Zach wasn't on the ice, the very highest the score for UND would have been was 5-3. In most probable cases, it probably would have been 5-1 UMN without Parise. BIG difference.
-
We do talk about a player with heart and never gives up. Interestingly enough, He wears #11 for Green and White. That's why he was involved in most (if not all) of the goals we scored. Although, if you ask Mazzocco, the answer would have to be Ballard. He's the best player ever to grace the ice according to them. It was almost like Ballard blah blah blah blah Ballard blah blah oh yeah, by the way, the Sioux have Parise but who cares because Ballard blah blah blah blah. God I hate that. Ballard wasn't even the best GOPHER player on the ice tonight. Hell, I saw a dude on the jumbotron dancing in a Gopher jersey who had a bigger presence in the game. In any case, Danny Irmen is a good player and you will have him for 3 more years thanks to the fact he's a Wild draft pick. I hope he meets Roche. If he does, he'll be a lock in for sure for all 3 more years in Minny.
-
There are certain things I need to say after watching the game. UM's first goal: Gift by Adam. WTF? I didn't know you could get a roughing penalty for trying to get free of whoever it was holding Lundbohm (Lundblohm) down. Mazzocco needs to have his tongue cut off. I thought I didn't like Woog, but Woog actually commentated decently when he could get a word in edgewise from the pompous @ss known as Frankie Moron. Jake Taylor is, and until he graduates, always will be the cheapest player on the Gophers. What an awful hockey player. Lastly, how long will it be until the "Gopher faithful" start rubbing it in? Maybe the administrator can post a warning?
-
Go sit on your glasses I say both teams lose their offensive power seemingly as both sides play very conservative hockey. Briggs will keep the game close and Brandt will do the usual. Sioux win 3-2. Game winner: Nick Fuher shot from the point. I say Porter and Parise get the other two goals. For the Gophers, Koalska and R. Potulny score. Vanek gets a + in the column but no points.
-
I agree, but Prpich will take some heat for it. But if anything, it was predictable. I mean, it all comes down to dictating the game. If you allow a player to take another player down going into the boards (which could cause injury and in fact did cause Prpich to miss a game) and there is no call, you can't expect a spirited player from returning the favor. The method used was not very classy, but it wasn't permanent. It also got the job done. I like Campion, but I think he needed to take the rest of the season off to recouperate from the injury. Since he's gotten back, he's been somewhat subpar.
