  1. Didn't see this before I posted the other thread regarding this bet. Wow! JJ beat the Mavericks! Is Briggs going to be back for the NCAAs? If not, I'd LOVE to see how JJ fares against real competition. They aren't going to be playing the St. Simion of the Swamp hockey club team.
  2. 11points in a weekend? HOLY COW!
  3. My post. Too many people dream about it being my account. I want them to dream the impossible dream
  4. When are we going to have a poll on the best avatar?
  5. No offense to UMD fans but: UW has a lot more to play for than UMD did. I doubt this game is going to be as "easy" as UMD turned out to be. UW is playing for their NCAA lives right now, while, by my calculations, even if we lose to UW we're still in the NCAAs. I admit I haven't tried every scenario on the Committee function, but so far, that's been the case. Nevertheless, I hope we still beat the dirty Badgers and their diving ways. I just don't see a high scoring game regardless of how well our offense has been doing and I guarantee you UW will get more shots than UMD did.
  6. True, but we have THE Goon
  7. Instead of bump perhaps you should just post your avatar

  9. I had BC winning the HEA tourney, CC winning WCHA, and Cornell winning EZAC. UND winning against UMN for third place. With the 3 2 1 I got UND tied for 6th in the PWC.
  10. Well: 1. Honestly, who has Cornell beaten? I agree they are a good team, but how would they stand up against competition from the WCHA or even HEA? 2. An offensive lacking UND swept Maine at Maine this year. That has to mean something really.
  11. Prpich goes after small guys? Maybe when he wants to drop the gloves, but no. Prpich seems to not care who he runs his mouth on. I thought he was jawjacking with Rosehill, Curry, and all other comers. Prpich will take on anyone. However, I do find it insteresting, picking on small players, how the big players at Minnesota universities (not singling out UMD here. In general) like to mug small players.... like Rosehill on Murray, or Taylor (UM Last year) on Murray. Like the WCHA on Zach Parise UND has it's "goons" I suppose. Prpich and a few others have their moments. However, the problem with goon-dom is not that they go out and goon it up. It's that they are able to do so at whim without penalty unless it gets to a point where it is so flagrant that it has to be called. And even then, it's a toss up whether it will or it won't. I think that Prpich and Peluso would not goon it up so much if they were called on it more often. And, yes, if they were, Peluso would by far lead the Bulldogs in penalty minutes. But Marco won't have to feel bad. Teams facing UW would have to have good PP units because they'd probably get close to 45 minutes of the game on the power play or 4 on 4
  12. I really do think Greene is a great Defenseman, however, I have my doubts on his return. Of ANY of the players not currently seniors, I think he holds the card as the Highest flight risk on the Sioux. Edmonton has been all over him during the previous off season saying everything from "he's our man" to "he could jump right to the NHL if he wants." The problem is, and it is a problem we may benefit from, that the minors may not have enough room for him while the lockout remains. They have to sign all of the seniors from DI, whatever must signs that play currently in the major juniors and what not. Space is an issue. They may just ask him to stay here next year if there is no agreement. IF Matt stays, then I think our drop on defense isn't going to be as drastic as it could be. No, I'm not saying that defensively we're not going to be good next season. I am saying that defensively we will be inexperienced. Having Matt Greene as the top D would really help. As for Bina, who cares what his height is. He's playing like a 6'4 250 pounder right now. I also like how they've been trying to incorporate Bina into the offensive play. With Lee and Radke (who I still think will be a strong offensive contributor as a defenseman if he's just allowed to play), Bina could add a solid offensive dman to every defensive pairing.
  13. Irrelevant. Minnesota plays Friday evening until the times are announced saying other wise.
  14. I agree. Suddenly Minneapolis is the easy bracket...
  15. Don't recall if Jared Boll was mentioned in this thread or not, but he committed to UMD.
