Period over. Anderson is doing better than normal, but it's still very early. He's let a few Badgers get away with stuff and he's let the Sioux get away with stuff. Of course, with the commentating, the Sioux have (as usual) been getting away with murder. We're doing well against a Big 10 school, being a school that's mainly DIII

Exactly. Jordan has been ON FIRE. And if it isn't broken, don't fix it. You NEVER EVER replace a hot goaltender heading into the playoffs. I think Hakstol is doing the right thing by doing this. We are NOT expected to win the WCHA, so why push so hard if we want to try to make the more important run (the NCAAs)? Jordan will play tonight because the Friday game does have SOME importance to it (even though it is more important to UW than us) and we're entering the playoffs, which means the playoffs start with Jordan. If we win vs UW, I'd expect Phil to play against DU. If we lose, we lose nothing except face really and UW will go on to be slaughtered by DU. Jake will not play again as a Sioux. Gosh that sucks to say, but it is true. It was a good run while it lasted, but Phil is the future and Jordan is today.

I really think that this is the biggest question mark I have with the selections. It sucks not to have UND more represented, sure, but it wasn't unforseen. Robbie Earl, however, does not belong where he is. Third team, sure, but second team, no. However, this is based largely on stats. If this was a popularity contest based on stats and sportsmanship, I doubt Earl would even make third team. Elsworth holds one thing over JPar and Phil that cannot be avoided: More games. Elsworth started a great majority of MTU's games. And, as the record dictates, they stunk. Holding a GAA in the low 3s and a Save% over .9 just shows what kind of a year he's had despite the fact that the team stinks all around him. How would this translate if he were on a team like Minnesota or UND? Not sure, but I'm sure with the numbers he put up and the defenses UND and UMN have, I'm pretty sure that he would have displaced McElhinney as first team AND goalie of the year. And yes, the WCHA is deep in talent. If Spirko and Genoway were in the CCHA, I'm sure they'd make the top teams of that conference. As for the rationale behind Spirko vs Zajac vs Pavelski, I defer to the person who accurately speaks for me, PCM.

Ok, here's my prediction: Not knowing much about previous years or whatever I'm just going to do what most liberals do and just make it up. Anyways, After getting beaten "many goals to few" in last year's context, SS.com's team is coming to the rink with a chip on their shoulder. Coach Forecheck has put the fear of God into them by suggesting that, should they not pick up their weight, they will be forced to endure replays of UW and UMN highlight reels hosted by Thomas Vanek and Robbie Earl. This year, I predict that, out of fear, the SS.com is able to put "many" goals on the board and win this contest "many" goals to "just a bit less than many" goals over the GPL/POI crew. There you have it.

I'm not sure how that is determined, but if they got by ranking, then UW is a 4 seed and UND is a 5 seed. Ergo, UND would be the away team.

I don't know the exact records, but I don't think UND fares too badly against either goaltender. I forsee UND playing UMN for third place.
