  1. SteveF seemes to be a lot like the Slap Shot of BC Hockey. He's knowledgeable, but unafraid to twink it up if he feels like it. No, that's not so true. Slap Shot is less "twink-ish" than SteveF. In any case, if you want a good opinion from a BC fan, read Mav's posts on USCHO. Bottom line though: Anything involving BC, UNH, or Maine hockey will eventually erupt into flames anyhow.
  2. I thought he said it was Rassislav "Rusty" Shpirko. Phil Lamaroh, and Matt Shmaby? Edit: One thing Woog did do was heap a ton of credit on Jordan Parise, the Sioux D, and Travis Zajac. He also was complimentary of Spirko once he gave up on trying to say his name correctly. Oh, and the forum article was password protected.
  3. Can you imagine Wooger and Masucko commentating? Can you be a homer for the homers?
  4. I'm not so sure I'd bet against Minny against Maine. They have been hot as of late (Maine) but the Sioux swept them and they did lose some games they should have won. However, that bracket could go both ways. If Cornell is indeed overrated, Ohio State could beat them and then it would be, IMO, a pretty even matchup UMN vs OSU. OR, since none of these teams are ranked incredibly high (yeah I know Cornell is in the top 5), it could be a wash and UMN could very well end up in the frozen four. As far as variables in quality of gameplay, I think Minneapolis has the widest varieties of outcomes meaning unpredictability. You won't see that so much in any other bracket. UND could beat BU and BC, or it could lost to BC. BC is a tough opponent and surely, I would imagine both the UND/BU game, the BU/BC game, and/or the BC/UND game would be big draws. In fact, I'd expect Worcester to be the biggest draw among all games attendance wise because of the matchups. It would have been better if Worchester was a bigger arena, though. Not sure how big they are but I think Mariucci holds more people.
  5. Who does that song?
  6. Maybe so, but did you watch how CC played? I mean, UMN players would skate hard with the puck and there would always be a CC player who can outskate them. I mean, Petiot, CC's 6'4" behemoth was skating faster than 99 percent of the Gophers! THey always seemed to be able to widen gaps between them and the Gophers all...game...long. They say speed kills. UMN couldn't get anything going because they couldn't beat CC to the puck. They were simply too fast.
  7. Ok, my question is: What the hell does this kid have to do to get some playing time? He played ok today didn't he? Then why did they take him off the ice? an assist isn't good enough? I really want to know what Kyle did to deserve this lack of confidence displayed by the coaching staff. Again, I wonder if Kyle will be around next year because lately (when he's played) he's played very well and has gotten nothing to show for it. I think I'm beginning to think that Marvin is in at D for the NCAAs if we can get Murray and Prpich back. I really don't think Radke will play much at all the remainder of the season. So my question is: WHY? And a thought to ponder: Will Radke remain with the Sioux? Who would blame him for returning to juniors? When is he going to get his shot?
  8. Raise membership dues. Hell, I'm sure some alumni of UND alone would foot the bill just to see an improvement in officiating right now.
  9. Though shep has a valid point, I think the message needs to be sent. Replacing Adam would improve the quality of the officiating in the WCHA, but it won't prevent a cheap hit like that from happening again. Leadership sets tone, folks. We were questioning our leadership early in the year. Well, it's WCHA leadership that is setting the tone. If they entrust officials with rewards such as this to watch them allow the jeopardization of the players to be higher than the normal wear and tear that a well officiated game would entail, then the tone is set and I fear for all of the small players in the league. Yes, Adam should be fired, but not because of just this game. It's his track record. Time and time again he compromised the safety of the game. This has to stop and it has to end NOW. Fire Greg Shepherd, Don Adam, and Todd Anderson. Then hire a retired NHL head ref to be the supervisor of officials (maybe lure Kerry Frasier into retirement to take the helm?) and hire some new blood into the ranks. Notice I didn't call for Derek Shepherd's firing. I think he should be put on probation and watched for the entire next season.
  10. I wouldn't look for anything, only a nicely engraved card from Don, Greg, and Bruce saying "tough luck kid. Best of luck with your future endeavors." Don Adam will ref again. Greg's system is too buddy buddy. And Bruce doesn't want to make a 20+ year veteran who has been through so much look bad.
  11. Ever since Robbie walked on to the Sioux and played his first game I knew he was something special. I don't know Bina personally and I doubt he's ever heard a word I've ever posted. However, I feel that Robbie is an inspiration to the team. Sometimes he reminds me of my very favorite defenseman of all time, Vladimir Konstantinov, who himself sufferred a terrible accident. Vladimir, like Robbie, would take on any and all comers. Even dumWoog and Masucko mentioned during the UW game that he was hitting 4+ inches bigger than his size indicated. I'll always advocate for Robbie. He's brought so much to the ice for the Sioux. And I'm positive he'll bring something to the Sioux for the remainder of the season: inspiration. Travis Zajac said they played the rest of the game for Robbie. I think the rest of the season will be for Robbie. Get well, Robbie. We'll see you next season.
  12. Exactly! Diggler is right as well. Adam didn't affect the outcome. The winning goal in OT was scored 5 on 5. The players were NOT being protected and the ref didn't care! It's the job of the ref to set the tone. He set the tone alright, I'm just surprised Paukovich didn't try to take out Stafford, Zajac, or perhaps our goaltender. He could have done so easily and without much more than a minor assessed to him. I am wondering something and perhaps PCM can clarify this: Is there any action, other than the usually ignored official complaint that UND can do towards the league regarding this incident? I would say usually ignored because of all the times Blais filed complaints against the league and its officials and all the wonderful (meaning complete lack thereof) responses to them. I've NEVER had more supporters to my sig, I think
  13. Don't understand this statement. UMN got the butts handed to them because CC outplayed that, outskilled them, and out skated them. CC is super fast! My goodness.
  14. Hey, I just want to give a potential heads up: This weekend's events will more than likely make the PA and Dubay show on Monday. One of the topics will surely be Paukovich. I would not doubt it for a second that either of them would question the suspension or the cheapness of the hit to try to get Sioux fans to call in and "make his day." I will not be listening, because I'll more than likely be working, but I think it should be said now before we have a myriad of new threads stating how unconscionable PA and Dubay are. A prevention of the stating of the obvious.
  15. From what I gleaned off of the interview with Greg SHepherd, the NCAA officials are drawn from the hat or some system where the pool of the refs are the refs who officiated the regional division playoffs. So far, those from the WCHA that would be represented are Anderson, Campion, Shepherd, and Adam. Not saying they would get the call, but they would be among the pool drawn from to officiate. I wonder if there is a method of placement? Meaning, do WCHA and CCHA officials usually hang out in the Grand Rapids, Colorado Springs, and Minneapolis regionals and the HEA and ECAC officials out east? If you ask me, the NCAA should not allow Adam to even attend the regionals as a spectator.
  16. WOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOO Geoff Cheap Shot Paukovich has been suspended for tommorrow's game!!! YEEEEHAWWW!!!!! That's ok, they don't need the chump anyhow.
  17. I don't know. I've been getting wild ideas in my head thinking he may return to juniors and transfer but then I slap myself and cite that I have no sources regarding that and it's probably all hogwash. In any case, no way he doesn't play now.
  18. Let's take the penalties out of the equation and face the facts: We played AWESOME today. ESPECIALLY after Bina's injury. I mean, we were basically down a line!!!!!! We not only kept it close, we took it to overtime! Someone tell me even that doesn't send a message? We can play with DU. I feel confident right now against any team in the DI hockey world. I'm not sure we can win it all without Murray and Prpich, but I think we're calm, composed, and playing GREAT! And, no, I actually do think the third place game means something. It means something now. In the scope of things like PWR or the NCAAs, it may not, but as for the heart of the team, I think they want to win the third place game badly. Win it for Robbie! And for Parise sake, play Radke! Let Marvin take the wing if you want, but let Radke play d*** it! The other good news is that it really truly doesn't matter who is in net! I don't think Jordy would have had Gauthier's OT shot blocked.
  19. Well that's it. The bad news is we lost. The good news is that the OT didn't last long enough for Paukovich to injure another Sioux player.
  20. Here's a scary thought folks: What do you think went on in the last OT games we've been in? How many penalties weren't called on potentially injurying plays? With Adam already setting that precedent, I'm scared. We need to come out firing and score right away to prevent injury because Adam isn't going to be calling anything except for maybe someting on Greene if he can get him.
