So, it's just you guessing as to what's gonna happen. Now I get ya ... yeah, I can see that. I still think it's easily possible for them to both win on Friday, either way wins on Saturday, and we're left with the same. I follow, though.
-
I agree with that, but they are also a team that could punch us in the mouth and we'd never recover. They are absolutely explosive. But, they don't like to be hit or pressured. That will be their Achilles' Heel in the tourney, no doubt. I've seen Mankato a couple times. Very good. Very deep. Incredible structure. Minny is playing great, and DU has basically been great since we swept them. This tourney feels as wide open as it has in a long, long time.

I absolutely want a shot at Michigan. No doubt.

I wasn't implying we'd be sent to Loveland for attendance. I was saying they'd flip our band out east to help attendance elsewhere.
-
Right, but you are implying it's a done deal they won't be in Loveland. Which is why I asked why you thought that way. If it's just a hunch, that's fine. Was just wondering what made you think that because it's totally possible and a very good chance of it, actually. Buddy, this isn't a wanger-swangin' contest.... I'm asking why you think it won't happen. I'm not challenging your intelligence, here.
-
Again, feel free to elaborate why you don't think it'll happen. If the season ended right now, we would be the second highest 2 seed and DU the third No. 1 seed. So, it's not super hard to consider them flipping our match up into Loveland to increase attendance elsewhere.

Do you have any insight on this? It's absolutely possible.

2021-22 University of North Dakota Hockey Season

Condensed version of The Timeout game I LOVE LaPanta's calls of our goals. It's funny, because after this game and his calls for our goals, he's always incredibly subdued when the opponent scores. I bet he was told to tone it down. -
Words are hard and apparently hurt your feelings

CC @ UND - NCHC Quarters - Game 1, Friday

I was lucky enough to be there covering the Four for the Dakota Student back in the day and was at his presser when he won it. He was just blown away. Such a great dude. So humble and genuine. Funniest part... They brought the Hobey in to put it on the table he was sitting at and this trophy is kind of a monster. The guy working the presser went to lift it on the table, stumbled back, nearly dropping it, but caught his balance. The audible, collective gasp in the room was so funny and Duncs' face was frickin priceless. He goes "nice catch" to the guy and we all laughed our butts off. I'll never forget that. Dude almost dropped the Hobey in front of everyone hahaha. -
They got back together in the third last night. I'm assuming they are trying to balance things a bit and would prefer to not have Montgomery on the third line with Costo and Jammer.
-
Ford back in! Big, big, big. Johnson sits, Budy is the extra forward.
-
I've never had food poisoning, but I'd imagine one could get it out of their system pretty quick. With that said, he's probably weak from it. Here's to hoping.

Time to finish it. UND get a better offensive effort and holds off CC's push to end their season. UND wins 4-2

Yep. Jandric skated it up, but didn't chip it past blue. -

Definitely think Costo has a lot of upside. I'll say it's a different kind of upside. Cag is just more of a flashy, playmaker type while Costo is more of a right place, right time kind of dude. Gonna be fun to watch him develop. -

Totally agree. Cag was a psychopath in the best way possible haha. Yep, Costo has shown a knack for burying that makes me excited to see what he becomes. -

Yep, well said. Did our job very well defensively and did just enough on two very special plays by two very special players. We'll get more offense tomorrow and get the job done, IMO. -

Lol chill man, we won. He's just saying he doesn't think Cag and Costo have similar playing styles and they really don't. Cag was is more of a playmaker, shifty player. Costo is north and south and does the right small things to succeed. I can see what you're saying in general, though. I expect him to keep getting better and his defensive game and effort stand out most to me. He'll be top 6 big time for us his last two seasons. He'd have to make a pretty big jump statistically to leave early. I think he's super talented but will likely never have the numbers Cag did. -

A playoff win is a playoff win and that's all that really matters. I thought that we struggled a little bit offensively tonight for two reasons 1) Juggled all the lines (had to with Gaber back and Ford out) and that caused some continuity issues throughout and 2) CC played with good pace and packed it in a bit. That was a defensive effort that wins titles. Hard on pucks all game and kept CC on the outside for a full 60. I honestly can't remember one true Grade A and Driz was a steady Eddy tonight once again. Sanderson is so good. So many little things he does that just give me a chuckle when I think of how frickin young he is. Special player and he's got plenty of magic left down the stretch. He's already a UND legend in my eyes and I think he could be one of the best all time after this run. Gaber looked great and he's our spark plug. Didn't look like he'd missed a beat. I think we get a better offensive effort tomorrow and put away CC and skate to STP. -

Absolutely LOVED his game tonight. I think he'll be a four-year guy and be an absolute beast his senior year. He's not our next Cag because that's Gaber -

Sick. Could be back tomorrow. Kunz was a healthy scratch. -
He's playing against kids who are younger, slower, smaller, and less talented as he's in HS hockey, and Class A, no less. I think Shaugaby will be a solid college hockey player, but if we are upset about not landing him in 4 years, I'll be pretty surprised.
