Hey man, to each their own. I just don't understand how you couldn't look at the body of work and ignore what he's done/doing.

And if he doesn't? Say we get to a national title game or a Frozen Four and get beat by a team on a spectacular goalie performance ala 2012? Is that an indication he didn't deserve an extension? This on the heels of a conference title season that had us No. 2 in the PWR before the pandemic killed the season and then another historically great season and another conference title, a tourney win and a heart-wrenching loss in 5 OT in the regional final. Also, looking to the future, a really, really great pipeline. Rationally, it shouldn't. He got an extension due to his body of work. This includes looking at past performance, our current team, and future pipeline/strength of the program/money/culture. Bubbs deserved it and got it. Any bellyaching that he shouldn't get one is wasted breath.

It was a long time since he'd won one... more than 10 years, right? Longer than the contract that Bubbs just had extended. So, he deserves the extension and should be given until at least 2026 with this logic then, right?

I mean, you have to contend for one to win one, so it's the same expectation.

Like I said to him before, Clown played in the title game last year and expect to contend for one this season. Isn't that our expectation at UND?

I get what you're saying, but I wouldn't consider it all luck. Building an incredible team, playing well, and having a winning culture combined with luck usually produces wins in the tourney. Teams get hot and that's a huge factor in the tourney.

I was told last night that Gaber is in this weekend, Frisch is close, but still TBD, and Sandy is out. With that said, he's very close. If not in for the first round of the NCHC, he'll be in St. Paul at the least. We're on the up and up about injuries! *knocks wood*

And don't forget, Wisconsin was below .500 and wouldn't make the tourney as an at-large now.

It won't happen unless it's 100% necessary and it's certainly not right now.

They don't gain a lot from this weekend, but have nothing to lose. They're out of the PWR too far to catch up with a sweep and are assured to be on the road for first round of the NCHC. My guess is they'd find a lot of value in spoiling a Cup celebration on their ice. We gotta bring it and I know we will.

This team, man. We talk culture all the time around here. This year's squad is it. Pure, unabashed, unfiltered desire to win. Think of the players out tonight! The best player in college hockey, our team's leading scorer, and probably our second-best defenseman who has been on an absolute tear, all wearing suits. The team then goes out and controls a really strong team, potting huge goals and playing shutdown defense up and down the ice on Senior Night. Incredible stuff. So proud of this team and to be a fan of them. All balls, all the time.

I think he was just pissed that they went from 6.9 to nearly 9 seconds. Big jump. Just felt like he was annoyed. Not much to it, IMO.
