  1. I'm not sure why you'd be so against this, but no, it did not... Here's the stunning part for UND — based on xG, the computer model thinks the Fighting Hawks should be 13-4 right now. It projected both games against Minnesota, one against Arizona State and one against Denver as the losses. In the other 13 games, the statistic shows UND has generated more quality chances than its opponents.
  2. Looking at their academic calendar, they have finals next week, so they are liking going hard this weekend lol.
  3. Hey man, that's fair. I'm not there mentally yet, but yes, if we keep having bad seasons, I see where you're going with that.
  4. Lololol you have an INCREDIBLY loose definition of dumpster fire. The lack of timing and perspective on this post is mind-blowing to me. Also, it's also not spin. I said nothing but factual statements. I'll give you an out... Did you honestly mean the program is a dumpster fire? This season, I can absolutely see... The program? Honestly?
  5. Yeah, I feel ya man. I just don't know what it is. Such a weird season. I think the players deserve much of the "blame"... turnovers have been the biggest problem for this team, IMO and to me that's clearly on their shoulders. Looking gassed can certainly come from chasing the game and not playing confident, too. I feel like a turnaround is going to come from leaning on program successes and belief in the talent to execute. That is on Bubs to drive into them, but also on the players to actually do it.
  6. Do I honestly have to explain this? Honestly?? Goodness. - I don't feel good about it and I never said I was, nor suggested it. It's frustrating that we have been statistically performing very well in areas where most games lead to wins and not winning. Wins matter most and it's not close. Stop putting words in my mouth. That's annoying. - Stats and analytics are not without outliers. UND is an outlier right now. - Ignoring analytics and statistics is just stupid. Like I said, look at the leaders in xG and you'll see the leaders in PWR with very few exceptions. - With these stats, there's an assumed adjustment to the mean. That could mean we win more games and could also mean we bottom out. Anything else?
  7. Yeah, this is pretty much exactly what I'm referring to when I say our fanbase is overreacting to everything. Great example! #FerDa
  8. What is it that you believe is causing the team to fall apart in the third? Things like confidence, mental toughness, etc., I don't think are on Bubs. The old school mentality of being a "tough coach" just isn't a part of college sport now. There are essentially no coaches out there that coach by fear. Right or not, I think if Berry is going, we're not going to see an old type of coach at UND because players don't really feel like get screamed at at all hours of practices and games anymore.
  9. He's definitely sat players for playing poorly this year. Tough to do it much on the blue line with injuries and inconsistent play. Is this training issue you see a new thing? I've never heard of a UND being out of shape. I think they're gassed because we've been playing from behind and expending all energy to try and even a game. Not a training thing, IMO, but a circumstance of our performance.
  10. Been happening ALL year. This team is in its own head, IMO. Mental mistakes and panic.
  11. THIS is smart. This comes from a lack of confidence in the bottom pairs of d-men. Guys like Cooper Moore, Johnson, and Bast need to get back to their best games ASAP for UND to turn it around.
  12. Plus/minus is a team stat in that it's hard to lay it on the individual player. Again, I just don't see a player on this team that has genuinely gotten worse. Some are certainly not playing up to a previous level, but that doesn't mean that will finish the season that way. Laying it back on the coaching staff, are we (not necessarily you) suggesting Berry is the reason for this? Could it, heaven forbid, that we play a really good schedule and we're not getting a bounce or two a game? (UNACCEPTABLE, I know lol) I just don't see anything to indicate a guy like Frisch or Kleven have gotten worse as players.
  13. I find that interesting, because I've heard that they are plenty close, but there a few that do their own thing. My whole point of what I said is that speaking in absolutes like things are already done is silly. Let the season play out!
  14. That's a bingo. It does NOTHING positive for the team or program.
  15. Glad we're on the same page. It's absolutely justified to be frustrated right now. We all are. But what in God's green earth will firing Berry do? Nothing. People are bummed about our pipeline (I love our pipeline. We need MORE players, but I love it) for some reason and that, I guess, could be a part of it, but it's wild to me that people legit think he deserves to be fired.
  16. We're blaming him for not needing to be better in the second half because they haven't had to? Absolutely does not mean they cannot. Seeing the statistics around their struggles gives me hope, but also adds to an incredible amount of frustration. Other than stopping silly turnovers in the defensive and neutral zone, I have yet to be able to pinpoint why we're losing. It's certainly not a lack of talent. I won't buy that.
  17. I think the entitlement sentiment, for me at least, is when we talk about firing Berry. Based on one half of the season, a big chunk of the fanbase not just wants him to be fired, but think he should be. I think it's crazy and yes, totally unreasonable to think he should be fired. I honestly don't see any regression, so to say. Underperformance, absolutely. Lack of progression that we desired, sure. But, who's regressing? Not trying to start a pissing match, but I'm just curious to hear who people think have gotten worse as a player.
  18. I don't agree that there's been no progress. With that said, it's hasn't been enough. We're too far into the season to be playing with poor defensive effort, consistently silly turnovers, and bad goaltending. This team absolutely has the talent to turn it around. Will it? We'll find out and that's all I'm saying. We're saying absolutes like we're going to get swept in the quarters and then expanding into a potential multi-year struggle based on one half of the season. We've legitimately saved seasons with second half surges MANY times. All we have to do is get in and we have a shot with Fargo. The ride hasn't been enjoyable, but it's not over. I just don't understand the assumption of failure when we have plenty of reasons to carry hope. But, I guess that's just me, so be it. LOL again, if you don't like analytics, you don't have to believe, but all of the of the other xG, possession, etc., leaders are winning games. The ones who have poor differences in those stats aren't winning games as whole and UND is the outlier. On the flip side, we have plenty of chances to move up in the PWR with teams like Western 4x, Denver, and St. Cloud left on the schedule. We moved up one spot with two losses this weekend. Imagine what would have happened had we won one or both. Gotta have the wins. Simple as that. We rip off a good run against Western, Lindenwood, a down UMD team, and Miami in January, we're right back in the mix.
  19. Why are we doing this to ourselves? My goodness, ya'll. Let the year finish out. People want to poo poo analytics, but this season could absolutely take a turn to the positive. Let's just chill out, please?
  20. Regardless of how it turns out, it seems like it's turning the corner into "nothingburger town", it still looks bad. It's simple.
  21. I bet they sell these on the Facebook group.
  22. Just because it didn't cause anyone harm, doesn't mean the fanbase enjoys idea of their favorite team looking shady, warranted or not.
  23. "third place vote-getter"
