  1. Lots of local-ish flavor on the Army squad, including a Grand Forks native: Lucas Kanta (Grand Forks, N.D) Easton Zueger (Sioux Falls, S.D.) Jon Bell (St. Cloud, Minn.) Nik Hong (Minneapolis, Minn.) Ricky Lyle (Duluth, Minn.) Joey Dosan (Bloomington, Minn) Jake Felker (Omaha, Neb.)
  2. With a couple of small exceptions, throughout the lineup on the backend I noticed two things... poise and correct and fast transitions up the ice to our forwards. Saw very little of those two things last season. With how quick and skilled our forwards are, these two things are so important and will bear fruit all season long.
  3. Definitely agree all around.
  4. Yes, that's exactly what I mean lol
  5. In all fairness, those two are likely in suits on Friday.
  6. Fair enough, but there was a clear difference in how that team functioned in the exhibition versus the one we saw all last year and it was glaring. It wasn't just the players executing, it was what they were doing. I'll make this clear... I'm not saying this team won't have bumps.... I'm saying that what I saw was very impressive and I'd be very surprise to see a significant drop from that level.
  7. I think that anyone who watches that exhibition and watched us thoroughly dominate a team from start to finish while holding them to six total shots will not want to play us regardless of the time in the season! We'll see if it continues, but I would be surprised to see a dramatic change. I think the team, particularly the forward group, showed how they intend to play all season.
  8. While I get your point, since the end of March, I feel like the the Mankato series got significantly less daunting and they will likely not be ranked by the time we play them. I think that Wisco will end up being a PWR plus for us, eventually. I definitely think we are getting them at a good time. Minny and BU, no doubt.
  9. They way they came out and showed out in the from the drop of the puck in the exhibition, I would be incredibly disappointed if we didn't come out flying on Friday.
  10. I think some gentle coaching could have been used here, @The Sicatoka .... @SIOUXFAN97, I can think of at least two threads where we could put that comment into that have been used this week. I think that's what he's getting at.
  11. The ability to pin Manitoba in their zone and also to track back and take pucks was unreal. I don't think I've ever seen UND, top to bottom, come out that hard and play that well for the entirety of the exhibition. It was very impressive. Feels like a team, especially upfront, that has a lot of swagger, moxie, confidence. Bodes well.
  12. Totally agree. That was easily the worst Manitoba team I've seen.
  13. Man, that exhibition got me excited. Can't wait for this weekend. How we gonna do?
  14. Fri - Omac Sat - Gaber
  15. Just not my thing. I prefer humble.
  16. I always thought the schools did it, but now that I know the player or someone near the player did it for them, I like it a lot less. Feels like.... "Hey! Look at me!" nonsense.
  17. That's a huge reason of why I love what UND is doing recruiting. Getting a great mix of really top end and solid 4 year guys.
  18. Minny wasn't bringing him in this year, so I am not sure he's gonna be there until 24-25. Not sure about that, though.
  19. I heard the report and legit thought it was BS. I'm blown away by this. Minny wasn't bringing him in this year, but the change to BU, I suppose they could. I'd think he'd come 24-25, but I also was surprised he bolted Minny hahaha
  20. Apparently you're not far off. I was told just a bit ago it's BU. CRAZY.
  21. Just to clarify, not a lot will need true development in terms of how to play the college game. All of the transfers have played a significant amount of college hockey and that was a major reason why they are at UND. The freshmen will of course need to develop. Gelling is the biggest thing. If this group gels quick, we're gonna have a great season.
  22. Tendered! He's a nice player.
  23. You speaking of Zellers? If so, he went 19g, 30a for 49 in 37 games last year with Shattuck.
  24. Oh, I was just picking what I'd consider our "best". I think Panzer has a really good shot at being a quality, four-year college hockey player.
