  1. Again, yeah, this'll help...
  2. Any fanbase would be upset for a long time if they had to change their name. Add a tradition as strong as ours, a process that was flubbed, removing for a reason that many think is ridiculous and unfair, a generic logo and nickname and you have a fanbase who will take longer than most to move on. But no... this side has to just "GET OVER IT" because the other side says so.
  3. How is this negatively affecting the University? I'd love to hear an example of this. Social media is FILLED with nonsense. Are players not coming to UND because fans argue about the nickname? No. Are donors still donating? Yes. Sure, this could change long term is this isn't eventually stopped, but at this moment, I fail to see how the University is affected by our whining and moaning on social media and message boards. You don't like it, so you see the University is being painted negatively. The Sioux Forever crowd is holding onto the name and see it as a badge of honor to fight for. Maybe, we all just relax and let the whole thing play its course. What affect is it to you personally other than you finding it annoying?
  4. Oh jees, c'mon. Like we've had such a sterling reputations among other team's fans anyway. I think most fans from other teams understand the feeling of the people who don't want to let go of the Sioux nickname. They didn't want it to go, either.
  5. Haha fair point. I'm just saying, seems like a lot, but yes, I do understand why it's being done and why the money spent.
  6. Again, by telling someone how they should feel about something, you aren't helping. Do it your way and they'll do theirs.
  7. Yeah, I know. I'm personally not suffering any wounds, but the analogical wounds are deep, for many
  8. It's an analogy. Want me to go back and put quotes around it? Would that help?
  9. I think the issue for me is the fact that it's $35,000 for a Halloween costume
  10. You can quantify it all you want and it won't change a thing. Again, all your opinions. Until we all quit the whining and name calling ON BOTH SIDES, it's never going to get better. Just understand that it's not going to happen the way you want it and get over it. Time will heal all wounds and you just have to accept that.
  11. And? What's it to you how fast or slow someone moves on from something?
  12. You just spent the previous four sentences relating well to a problem that seems very passionate and difficult. In the last sentence, you make it sound so easy to just "get over." Wouldn't all of that passion and difficultly take time to move on from? Some have gotten there quickly. Others have not. Just accept that and we'll all be better off. The reciprocal is the same for the "Sioux Forever" crowd.
  13. Fair enough, man. Fair enough.
  14. Absolutely not to all three of these questions. 1) That logo is as equally as bad/generic. 2) Why would another version of a generic Hawk get rid of the idea of Sioux Forever? "Sioux Forever" is not about the logo being bad, it's about having the Sioux logo taken away. Had the new logo and/or name been better, the transition may have been easier and not taken as long, but "Sioux Forever" would have still been there. 3) No Sioux Forever fans want the logo anywhere, regardless of the sport. No need to clump it all on hockey. See point 2 for the answer why. All in all, what's your point?
  15. Yeah, that approach will convince him. Smart move.
  16. This "argument" summed up here between :26 and :31
  17. I think by releasing on Monday, they are probably trying to avoid this.
  18. I'm assuming the options won't be presented until they open the voting?
  19. Not that I didn't enjoy the rest of the post, but you could have stopped right there. I agree 1,000,000%
  20. To me, this is the absolute root of the problem and is 100% justified in driving the narrative. I truly think the coaches expected one more year out of Jost. I think he would have single handedly gotten us into the tournament and this narrative could have very well not existed.
  21. Don't get me wrong, I know this team needs to score more. But, I was just bummed with the narrative that our recruiting is down despite the best d-corps pipeline in the country.
  22. As a Rangers fan, I'd be very happy on two levels.
  23. Not sure I can classify Marchand as a goon simply because of how talented he is. Goons, to me, do nothing but fight and defend the top guys. How about "agitator" for Marchand?
  24. #butscoring
