Dave Hakstol Leaving to Coach NHL Philadelphia Flyers
InHeavenThereIsNoBeer replied to Ray77's topic in Men's Hockey
It's listed on the MLS for 1.3 mil. I'd be surprised if he gets that. Tax basis is $650k for what it's worth. Either way, it doesn't really matter. -
Heard this weekend that Dane Jackson is still considering accepting an assistant position from Hakstol with the Flyers.

Count me in the group rooting for a Flyers Stanley Cup! To be fair though, when it comes to NHL hockey my favorite teams are the Blackhawks, Blues, Wild, Kings, Flyers etc. Seeing a pattern? -
I may be burned at the stake for this, but good riddance. I can't remember a player I have disliked more in an exhibition game in my time watching UND hockey.

Ralph Engelstad Arena Photo Book

1. Yes, because I'm a sucker for all Sioux historical items. 2. Hard Cover, stays in better condition 3. $50? I think that's how much that 'One Goal' book was... 4. Coffee Table 5. a -
No, I'm saying two completely different scenarios are not at all comparable to each other. I'm not just pretty sure a billionaire businessman would set aside emotion, I'd guarantee he would. That doesn't change the fact that we're not billionaire businessmen(single tear) and this isn't strictly about business. Of course emotions get in the way when it comes to college hockey, emotions are what make the game great!

The list of potential nicknames came out with about 160 pages of people requesting Fighting Sioux despite being stated that the former name would not be considered. This shows the immense support for the former nickname that has been evident throughout this process. I posed this question to my friend the other day in a drunken stupor in Vegas and would like to revisit it on this site. If you could either: A) Guarantee that UND wins a national championship in 2015-2016 and continue down our current path of choosing a new nickname/no nickname or B) Keep the Fighting Sioux nickname and logo until the end of time and have the chips fall where they may in regards to national championships Which would you choose? DISCLAIMER: This is not to be taken seriously as I know these are not 2 realistic options but it's the offseason and no early departure news is coming out.

Agreed, I'd honestly be shocked if he went NCAAs

That's exactly what I thought too. Almost felt like the should call some sort of traveling violation. -

There an echo in here? I stand corrected. It was CC, my bad. -

Trupp picking the puck up on his stick against UMD made the Xcel Center electric(no pun intended) Even though he didn't score, just the confidence to do it was something I'll never forget -

I thought the same thing about Eidsness' position. He left an entire 1/2 of the net open. If Zane is gone, we are going to miss him. -

Darcy Zajac's OT goal vs. CC to clinch the MacNaughton I believe? May not be top 10 but it's up there. White out weekend at The Ralph sweep the rodents 6-1, 6-3... 2008 or 2009? -

It was the 2006 Regional and they beat Michigan and Holy Cross, not Niagara. -
Miami is losing a ton of firepower from last year.

Buccigross represents college hockey(unfortunately) so the way he presents himself/announces is the face of college hockey as a whole. If I've never watched a college hockey game in my life and turn Buccigross I'm not going to continue to watch because he literally hurts my ears to listen to. Also, his and Melrose's knowledge is limited on players names, background etc. so it makes it look as though they don't put a whole lot of priority/effort into calling these games. It almost feels like it's an afterthought to them. I will give Buccigross the slight edge over Melrose bc he knows enough to be dangerous but he does not call play-by-play for a living so getting his feet wet a few times a year doesn't qualify him to call the biggest games of the year. That's not acceptable to me as a person who wants to see college hockey grow as opposed to the alternative. Then of course you have his "Bucci-isms" like saucy paws, thin mints, mayor of dangle city etc. but that's a story for another post. I understand he's trying but he's better served on twitter. But Buccigross is what people hear when they turn ESPN on for the most widely shown game in the college hockey year. Just stating opinion, you're not required to agree with it so telling people they have to "calm down" isn't a solution to me. I'll quit derailing this Early Departures thread as this has absolutely nothing to do with it, so this will be last post on this topic here.

We'd have the best incoming freshman class by far in the NCAAs. Is Matthews a for sure 1 and done player? From what it sounds like he is but I'd take him =)

Closing in on Epic Title Drought
InHeavenThereIsNoBeer replied to Benny Baker's topic in Men's Hockey
You never answered my question. If you're asking my preference I choose talking about nothing rather than this but I'm wondering about you guys. Where in my post did I say or infer that it offended me? I just asked if you enjoy it. Not being facetious, I'm seriously wondering if you do. -
Ok scpa, but just because you said so
