  1. It reminded me of Mario blocking a shot against the Gophers that hit him so hard he could only stand on one leg. He hobbles around on one skate then dives in front of the next puck too. I believe MN scored on that PP but you couldn't even be mad, you knew Mario literally left everything on the ice.
  2. Crap, I already missed the game?
  3. Yup, the only silver lining I can find is in the way he went out. He gave up his body to kill a penalty that led to a 5 on 3 penalty kill which catapulted us to a sweep. It takes a lot of f'in guts to do that, and it's what Sioux hockey is all about. Giving up your own goals, ambitions and health(in this case) for the betterment of the team. The penalty kill literally was a key moment in us capturing the Penrose Cup as well. Also, this was one of the loudest standing ovations I've ever heard, definitely the loudest for a penalty kill. The crowd truly appreciated what Mark, Stecher, and Caggiula were laying on the line when they blocked those shots.
  4. I actually like going to Joe Black's before the game. It's much more laid back at the time of day and they have cheap drinks and food. Now after the game is a different story. Then the "whoo girls and shots" come out.
  5. Yeah that's the problem with the Big 10. They're all playing 3rd fiddle to "more important" sports
  6. I bet there's a lot of Wisconsin fans who have said the exact same thing a few years ago... But I agree, it wouldn't get that bad. It shows a complete lack of leadership and pride from your team. To only win 4 games in a conference as bad as the Big 10 is absolutely astounding.
  7. As there should be, 4-24-4 for a program like Wisconsin is inexcusable. Grand Forks might get burned to the ground if UND ever had a record even remotely close to that. Hell, it would be chaos if we missed the NCAAs!
  8. I have never had any doubt whatsoever that LaLeggia will win it. These are all my picks too, can't argue that much with any of them.
  9. Obviously I'd love for JS to win it but can't say I'd blame them for giving it to LaLeggia. He has 12g-23a compared to Schmaltz' 3g-23a
  10. Yup, just walked right by like the ushers didn't even exist and I knew exactly where I was going.
  11. They never checked my ticket when I went down to sit with some friends for a couple of periods.
  12. True, Blais didn't sound optimistic about Zombo coming back at all this year in his press conference. That's a huge blow to that team.
  13. You guys are totally on the same page
  14. I think he's saying USCHO is assuming Michigan State wins the conf. tourney because they are 1st in the Big 10 at the moment.
  15. As of right now Sparty is #32 in pairwise, Bob Morris is #25. So Bob would get 15th seed and Sparty would get the 16th seed.
  16. I have a trip planned out for the Frozen Faceoff so I'm pulling pretty hard for this series! Enjoy the late season games you don't have to have a heart attack over while you can. These didn't exist last year!
  17. Maybe hype-wise higher than Toews level? Idk
  18. Sorry, I will stop. I'm making myself sad!
  19. I can't remember, did Trupp hit one at the end there?
  20. Boeser added UMD right before he committed to UND... maybe Matthews will do the same?
  21. I hope no one in the AHL/NHL hits him too hard, might try to leave for the European league
  22. One freakin shot out of 40 finds the back of the net and that building would've exploded. I'm 100% sure that crowd would have been going crazy and carried the boys all the way to the title. It's easy to say afterwards but Michigan got very lucky that powder keg was never lit because it would've made their highschool state sized section of fans look pretty insignificant.
  23. My closest comparison to the players on this team would be last year's, as they have the most players in common. IMO It didn't feel like last year's team really ran out of steam at all to me, in fact they carried play at the Frozen Four for a majority of the game against an arguably more talented Minnesota team.
  24. My thoughts exactly, this team doesn't need to win games right now. We're going to the Fargo regionals no matter what happens. That leaves time for these guys to focus on getting healthier and ready to win 4 games when it matters!
