Houston is looking real tough after adding Grienke. Yanks and Red Sox really didn't do anything. Twins add another solid reliever in Dyson and he is signed for next year too. Really was hoping to add another starter that was signed through at least next year too but guess the price was too high. Gonna have to either sign/trade for starters in the off season though or decide to get new deals done with Gibson, Odorizzi, and Pineda becuase they definitely don't have 3 guys coming in the minors that are gonna be ready to start next season.

Puig and one of their top prospects Taylor Trammel that will head to San Diego in the 3 team deal.
-
And Puig is coming to Cleveland in return and he will probably have a suspension pending when he gets there after the Reds and Pirates brawl tonight.
-
Lucky he made it that long with some of the moves he made/tried to make.

Yeah it is hard to ever figure out what exactly the Mets are thinking. Blue Jays didn't exactly get a lot back for him either. The Mets 4th and 6th prospects but neither are top 100 guys. Some reports on Twitter that the Twins had been talking plenty to Toronto but the Jays didn't circle back for teams final offers before taking the Mets deal.

Romo is solid. Can be a decent 6th/7th inning guy. Didn't really give up much to get him. Plenty of ammunition to go get Stroman and Giles.
-
Sounds like he is close and could be back tomorrow. Seems like the Twins always give the guy they are sending down 1 more game before he heads to Rochester. I'd be completely fine if I never have to see Cave again. Rosario and Kepler can both play center better than Cave so next time they need an outfielder they should bring up Rooker. He'd definitely add more at the plate.

Hell of a game with a ton of back and forth. Parker was awful. The missed strike 3 call hurt but the response from the Twins was great. That ball Sano hit was absolutely smashed had to be close to 500 feet with where it landed. I wasn't really worried after Rogers walked the 9 hitter but don't know why they went after Hicks with a first pitch fastball. He has really struggled with breaking balls as a righty and that mistake cost them. Thought Kepler had swung the game back to the Twins but it just seemed to hang up there forever. The Twins have shown much better than I expected these last couple games against the Yanks, was really worried this weekend a sweep might be coming.

Somewhat true but a team like Toronto has sucked all year and they have a couple of very attractive pieces that could fill huge needs for the Twins in Stroman and Giles. I know you are gonna have to pay a good price for those guys but I'm alright with that. It also helps fill a need in the rotation for next year with 3/5 of the current rotation scheduled to be free agents. I just don't think the front office of the Twins has had a huge sense of urgency because of the big division lead which is disappointing to me when the things you need to upgrade have been very obvious for a long time.

Huge to get the win today but no doubt they need help. A starter like Marcus Stroman and a couple of reliable bullpen arms are exactly what this team needs. I really don't understand why they didn't start making moves around the all star break but I guess that is the common theme throughout baseball that all the trades seem to come on the couple days around deadline day.

At the very least has to keep it in front of him and only give up the tying run and not the go ahead too. Rocco could've helped out too with the obvious intentional walk to Davis with 1st open to set up a better matchup. Also was screaming at the TV for him to pull back Rosario after the Schoop double. You knew Oakland was gonna intentional walk whoever came up to setup the double play so pull Rosario back and let him pinch hit for Garver with the bases loaded. Hopefully the last couple nights give Falvey a little sense of urgency to start getting some of these moves done instead of waiting until the 31st to make moves.

Maybe, maybe not.

Mankato is a better program than Arizona State with a much better arena as well and fits very well with the rest of the conference.
-
Definitely an easy choice Mankato.

UND continues to miss out on way too many good Minnesota kids for my liking. Tristan Broz a Junior to be out of Blake committed to Minnesota and Carsen Richels a Senior to be from Blaine committed to New Hampshire.
-
I know he does the problem is it is to the benefit of programs like UND if the gentleman's agreement goes away.
-
If it is a verbal than there is no problem? If I'm at a school like Minnesota, UND, Denver, Wisconsin there is no way I'm following that stupid gentleman's agreement. No other sport has it. Until a kid signs his NLI he is free game.

Please find someone that can recruit Minnesota well especially the Twin Cities.
-
We got one! Trey Ausmus I’m extremely honored and excited to announce my commitment to The Fighting Sioux of North Dakota. I want to thank everyone who has helped me get to this point! #SiouxForever

If Frisch wants to come in you bring him in. This staff better not make the same mistake they did with Donovan and end up losing him because of it.
-
Holy Family Freshman Trey Fechko commits to Arizona State. I know the coaches have been following him for a long time. If we are losing recruits to Arizona State now then the problems are even worse than I thought.

Wasn't really referring to any seniors. Rarely see any uncommitted seniors that are UND level prospects at the state tournament anymore. I guess Lucas McGregor with Centennial last year and Sam Huff with Maple Grove a couple years ago. If you are talking seniors committed elsewhere you could definitely put Brodzinski, Jensen, Nevers, and Donovan with that group. I was more looking at a lot of the other talent like Batchelder(CC), Warner(MN), and Smith(UMD). There a couple of uncommitted that I'd hope we are in on. Richels we should be all over and if we haven't been already it might be too late. Really like Blake Perbix from Cathedral too.
-
Very disappointing seeing so much talent on the ice at the X this year and much of it committed talent but no UND commits. Feels to me like the last couple years the staff really hasn't been that active in Minnesota and specifically the Twin Cities. Minnesota should be one of the biggest focus areas when it comes to recruiting and in my opinion the biggest focus area. Yeah there is competition there with Minnesota, Duluth, St. Cloud, Mankato, and Bemidji all doing plenty of recruiting there but realistically with all the UND program has to offer the only team on that list you might not be the favorite more often than not is Minnesota and that is understandable. Watching Ryder Donovan last night he sure looked like a prototype UND player. Still think that loss is gonna hurt big time.

AA was kinda weird seeding this year. People were surprised Eden Prairie got the 3 because they have more losses than some of the other teams but they play one of the best schedules in the state and have good wins so wasn't that big of surprise. I personally thought they should've been 4 and played Moorhead while St. Thomas Academy should've been 3 and played Duluth East as the 6 if they would seed them all. Yeah supposedly just a random draw although the last few years it had worked out to be pretty much set up just as it would 1-8. I've said since they started seeding that they should do 1-8 and really don't get why they don't. I think they think they are hurting someone's feelings because someone has to be the 8 seed and if that is they case they need to quit being babies and just seed them all.
