Would have thought Bylsma would have went to Miller by now.

Could kind of feel this wasn't gonna be USA's day when they couldn't get one past Rask with their early chances and then Finland gets their 1st goal on a weak backhand shot.
-
Granlund has looked really good during the Olympics and probably been Finlands best player throughout the tournament.
-
Rask is the reason Finland is up 2-0 right now and I think if he was in goal yesterday Finland is probably playing for gold. Kane has to be the most frustrated player in the tournament right now with so many chances and so little to show for it. U.S. has had most of the chances and the better of the play but a couple bad minutes in each period are the reason it is 2-0 right now. Noticed Brown was benched after the bad turnover for the first goal although I'm sure Quick would want that one back. Also seems like McDonaugh hasn't seen the ice quite as much after the bad turnover and then bad decision that led to Finland's 2nd goal. With the chances the U.S. is getting right now I have to think they will break through here soon.

I saw this going on watching the pregame last night too and couldn't help but laugh.

Good solid road win tonight. Good to see Johnson get a couple goals tonight as it had been a long time since he found the net. Zane was real solid tonight and when the Sioux were struggling early with some turnovers he bailed them out. Mitch really didn't do much on that 4th line and I'd rather see Murphy, Ausmus, or Panz there. Hopefully Zane can give us another solid performance tomorrow night and we can get out of Duluth with a sweep. I was a little surprised when I saw that it was Zane's 1st college shutout as it seems like he has been close so many times that I figured he just already had one.

Thief River Falls is in 8A and I don't think they have ever been in AA.
-
Yeah it may actually stop the annual Moorhead/Roseau title game once and a while, even though they would all be AA EGF is still the best team in NW Minnesota right now and is set up pretty well for the future too.

If the parents move too the kid is eligible to play right away.

They didn't pull her, I was confused about how they got to a 5 on 3 as well. I kinda wonder if the refs didn't somehow screw this one up too and let the Canadian player out of the box when they weren't supposed to.

USA should have finished in regulation but that doesn't excuse the horrible officiating in OT. Canada's penalty was basically a 2 handed cross check to the head while the U.S. got called for a slash call that happens many times every game and isn't called and ten gets called because the Canadian girl was tired and Knight is stronger, pretty pathetic way to decide a gold medal. I thought Canada's goalie was the difference as she really stole a couple from the U.S. while the U.S. goalie pretty much gave Canada one. This really makes me hate Canada even more and really that Wickenhiser but hopefully the men can get some sort of redemption tomorrow. Something needs to be done about the reffing in the Olympics and especially on the womens side because they were horrible throughout and ultimately played a huge role in deciding who won the gold.
-
Watching the replay why didn't Vetter just slap the puck back in the corner instead of letting it bounce right out in front? Canada seems to have the momentum going to OT and I think they have the advantage in goal to which is important especially in the sudden death situation.
-
Lack of puck pressure and bad defensive zone coverage cost the U.S. and now they have to refocus and find a way to get it done in OT.
-
I really don't understand why the U.S. keeps trying to force the breakout up the boards when Canada is taking it away and giving them the middle. U.S. needs to be stronger with the puck to finish this off and make sure to get pucks out of the d zone when they have the chance and in deep in the offensive zone when they have the chance.
-
Huge goal there, had been wondering why the US hadn't tried to hit the backdoor play earlier on other powerplays.
-
Zach Yon with 2 goals and 2 assists including the game winner in a surprisingly close 4-3 section quarterfinal win over River Lakes although the shots were heavily in favor of Roseau 47-19.

Personally I like the matchup with Czech Republic or Slovakia better than having to play the Swiss but I would have liked to see Finland get the win and make Canada and Russia face each other in the quarters.
-
Bracket should look like this 1. Sweden vs. 8.Slovenia/9.Austria 4.Finland vs. 5.Russia/12.Norway 2.USA vs. 7.Czech Republic/10.Slovakia 3.Canada vs. 6.Switzerland/11.Latvia

Rask was pretty good for Finland but both the goals he gave up to Doughty were kind of weak. Thought Finland was gonna win it on the blast by Salo and then thought they would get a powerplay when one of the Canadian players slashed the stick out of the Finland players hands while he was carrying the puck through the neutral zone but they pretty much put the whistles away late in the game.
-
Finland gets the all important next goal to tie it 1-1 after Canada had pretty much been in control.
-
Finland has to clean up the turnovers if they are gonna have a chance to win this game. Also gotta make their chances count offensively as so far it seems like their best chances haven't even got on net.
-
If Canada wins in regulation they will be the #1 seed and USA stays at #3, if Canada wins in OT/SO USA moves up to #2 and Canada would get the #3.
-
I believe as long as Finland wins no matter if it is regulation or OT/SO it sets up a Russia/Canada quarter but if they do it in OT/SO it would move USA up to #2 and set up a quarter against Czech/Slovakia rather than staying at #3 and probably Switzerland.
-
If Canada or Finland win in regulation it looks like USA would most likely get the Swiss in the quarters in the 3/6 game. If Finland wins in OT/SO I think Canada and Russia would set up as the 4/5 game and USA would get the Czech Republic/Slovakia winner in the 2/7 game.
