Schloss mentioned the name Eric Rud as a possible candidate, he was a CC assistant the past couple years, was the head coach for the Green Bay Gamblers for a year, and a SCSU assistant for a few years. I'm hoping that they want Gwoz and he comes back and takes the job.

Yeah I'm not too sure it would be the right fit for him but I would think CC may be interested in him.

Would think Gwozdecky and maybe Eades could be a couple guys who get calls from CC.

I don't think we have anything to worry about. Faragher was an undrafted free agent so he probably just decided to take the contract while it was their. Hellebuyck had a great 2 years at Lowell and the Jets offered him a max deal so I imagine that would have been tough for him to pass up. Another highly touted goalie Jon Gillies decided to head back to Providence for another season instead of signing with the Flames. I think Schloss said Providence is scheduled to be at the Ralph next season so that should be a pretty good non-conference series.

I was there too and I would definitely agree. There were comments from TH and the players in post game interviews that night and they said the same thing.

Wisconsin Soph. forward Nic Kerdiles signs with the Ducks. Gotta think Wisconsin will have a tough time next season.

Mass-Lowell Soph. goalie Connor Hellebuyck has signed with the Jets.

JR D Jaycob Megna of UNO has signed with the Ducks.

I agree, Blais does have some good recruits like the Peterson kid from Grand Rapids that I would have loved to have but most of their better recruits are forwards and their defense wasn't exactly a strength the last couple seasons, I think goaltending will still be an issue as well. I would say the top 2 teams are UND and Miami and I could see Duluth and St.Cloud ahead of Omaha easily next year as well.

This thing is close but a little off, the Sioux only have 25 guys and 13 from Canada. They must have still been counting Tambellini, the American/Canadian balance is really gonna change the next few years looking at future commits.

I think if you look at committed recruits he has kind of changed the philosophy for the future from the last few years. A lot of the commits are either from Minnesota or North Dakota with a couple other states mixed in but I believe there are only a couple Canadian commits at this time and it doesn't seem like he is looking to the NTDP program too much although there have been a couple guys who have committed and then went to the NTDP. Overall I doubt we see many if any of these future commits bail on UND for major juniors.

Always been a fan but probably really knew when I went to my first Sioux game with a friend who had a cousin playing on the team when I was about 9 or 10 at The Old Ralph, believe the Sioux were playing CC on that night.

Agreed that the future looks like it could be pretty good although I'm still not exactly sure on Yeo. I can't wait for Heatley to be off the books and I also hope they can get rid of Brodziak too. Coyle, Fontaine, Granlund, Haula, Nino, and Zucker make for a nice group of young forwards who should continue to take steps forward too. I know a lot of people want them to use the cap space from Heatley to go after Vanek but I think I would lean right now with trying to go after a top 4 defenseman if there are any available and then maybe being able to get Moulson back as well.

UMass Lowell Soph. Dman Christian Folin signed with the Wild last night.

I'd be very, very surprised if that actually happened and I think he will be here for the next two seasons. He is drafted which makes a big difference for a goalie in whether they sign early or not, playing for the Sioux was always his dream, and its not like Boston has a lack of quality goaltending and I'm pretty sure they are happy with the way he is developing here.

Agreed I think name/school recognition is the biggest thing to them in deciding who plays when.

I'm not surprised at all, it seems to me they usually go by name recognition of the schools/programs and UND/Minnesota certainly outweighs BC/Union.

ESPN gets to pick, I knew they wouldn't be stupid enough to have the best rivalry in college hockey as the early game.

Huge opportunity for Lowell with the powerplay to start the 2nd. Thought attendance would be better with both BC and Lowell being relatively close to Worcester.

Pretty sure the Izzo thing is a joke and maybe a little bit of a shot at another poster on this forum. Pretty amazing to think this years Seniors are the first group of guys that have played 4 years for Izzo and not made a final 4.

If its Sioux/Gophers I would be very surprised if it is not the late game even if BC is in the frozen 4.

Blaine Soph. forward Riley Tufte committed to Duluth yesterday. I would guess we had interest as most teams probably did and it sounds like Tufte will likely be heading to NTDP. Don't know if Amsoil is the reason or what it is but Duluth has really picked it up in recruiting lately.

WHAT A HOCKEY GAME! Finally got a shot through and Gaarder was able to cash in on the rebound. Ferris is definitely a tough and frustrating team to play against. So many blocked shots by them and when you do finally get a solid opportunity they have a great goaltender back there. Thought the reffing was iffy tonight and they let a lot of the interference and holding type stuff go but I don't think it affected the game all that much. Ferris State definitely looked fresher late and I think a big part of that was the difference in types of opponents on Friday and that may be a reason we lost so many individual battles late too. It is real nice to finally be on the other side of a hot goalie stealing a game!

Think it may be a long game for Robert Morris. All Gophers the first couple minutes and then 2 gift powerplays for Robert Morris and they really can't generate anything.

Lacrosse games at 11 and 1 so it could delay the Denver and BC game coverage.
