  1. The back foot of Stastny is in the air not being dragged and the puck hasn't entered the zone yet which makes it offsides. If you watched the game last night they deserve to whine even more than they have. If you think the Minnesota writers are bad now you should see the way the Colorado writers have been, they have been whining all series about every little thing even though neutral observers have said they have definitely been on the receiving end of some fortunate calls and they've been outplayed most of the series.
  2. Foot is in the air not being dragged, Wild writer Russo said he has heard from multiple NHL people that can't believe those two calls were missed saying they weren't even that close. Even former NHL official said it was pretty bad: Kerry Fraser ‏@kfraserthecall 10h Trouble in Denver. Charlie Coyle held by Andre Benoit with net empty causing turnover. Up ice, Paul Stasny is offside as Avs tie game. Ouch!
  3. They were offsides as has been clearly shown on FSN as well as all over Twitter. There also was a no call when Coyle had a shot at the empty net by was wrapped up and held. Avs top line tonight was clearly the 4 men in stripes and everyone can see that. Wild will just have to battle through it and try to overcome it as they have all series. You Avs fans that keep mentioning Cooke have you ever seen Bordaleau and Mcleod play?
  4. Refs are afraid of Roy, Colorado has gotten away with pretty much anything they want. Mackinnon got hit with a good clean hipcheck in the last minute then jumped on the Wild player and punched him a couple times in the head. The punch to the back of the head and cross check to the ribs seem to be the go to moves for Colorado. Pretty sure Avs were offside on the tying goal too.
  5. If the NCHC were to add a couple schools the first one I would want would be Mankato. They have been a program that has been getting better and looking ahead they should be solid for at the very least the next few years and would definitely not be a doormat of the league. I'm sure the other school would probably need to be closer to Miami and Western Michigan just to help them out a little with travel and I really wouldn't care who it is from over there.
  6. I thought Detroit would really test Boston and the series would maybe even go 7 but they just couldn't get the offense going consistently enough.
  7. Boston finishes off Detroit to advance to face Montreal which should be another very entertaining series to watch.
  8. The Hawks/Blues series has been great and very entertaining hockey. I think the Hawks will end the series in game 6 and I wouldn't be at all surprised if it takes OT again. Missed the play but heard the announcers on NBCSN talking about a Stars player getting a 5 minute major and game misconduct for another spearing penalty. Seems like that series has really had a lot of issues with players spearing each other.
  9. First thing I noticed too, nice goal by Oshie but not a good decision by Crawford.
  10. So much stronger than last season, another pretty dominating performance by the Wild and Varlamov is the only thing keeping the Avs in the series right now.
  11. I'll try it, I've talked to some other people who have sent emails to the basic valleynewslive address and I have sent emails myself but none of us have got any type of response and the emails were simply asking for reasoning why they would choose to put a glorified practice on NBC over a crucial Stanley Cup Playoff game.
  12. Dallas wins 4-2 to even the series up with Anaheim and the intensity level in that series is definitely high with a number of scuffles in the last few minutes.
  13. Wow Columbus ties it late to force OT after Fleury misses the puck trying to stop it behind the net.
  14. I also didn't think the Seabrook hit was as bad as some did but I'm a Hawks fan so that could explain it some. The only real bad thing with the Seabrook hit was he did seem to target the head some. I'm sure Backes has dished out a few of those kind of hits himself though too.
  15. Figured Cooke would get more than the hit deserved and I believe he did just because of his history. The biggest thing that had to factor in had to be his history because the few spears to the groin and the Seabrook hit had much more intent than the Cooke hit.
  16. So I was looking at my guide on my tv and I see ndsu spring football shows up to be on NBC Saturday afternoon and then NHL hockey after it but only for like an hour and a half. They wouldn't be stupid enough to put that on over an NHL playoff game would they?
  17. I didn't say it was a clean hit I said the intent was for a clean hit and when Barrie tried to avoid it Cooke didn't change his angle like Barrie did which is why the knees collided. I've talked to a number of people most of which are former hockey players or coaches who feel it really wasn't a bad hit but Cooke will probably be suspended because of his history and they think his history is why people are making a big deal about it not because of the actual nature of the hit which is something I definitely agree with.
  18. Never said Barrie should have got a penalty or anything like that but Barrie moving out of the way to try to avoid the check is the reason the knees collide. Cooke comes in for a body check and Barrie tries to jump out of the way and sometimes players collide. I agree that they can call a minor for tripping or kneeing but a suspension would be a joke imo. Bickell had a very similar play against St.Louis on Saturday and I don't even think he got a penalty so if Cooke is suspended it will be more based on his history than the incident.
  19. Not at all, I've watched almost every Wild game this year and Cooke hasn't had an incident and has brought a very well rounded game to the Wild which they need. Watching the play last night and the replay a number of times there is no intent there from him he is going for a body check and Barrie darts out of the way and unfortunately there knees hit. Bickell had a similar play on Saturday and I don't think there was even a penalty call. Would be a big loss if Cooke is suspended for the Wild and it would be based more on history than anything else.
  20. Wild get the OT win off the Granlund beast mode play to get back into the series and pretty much controlled the play throughout the game the shots were 46-22. I know Cooke has a history but doubt he gets suspended as Bickell had a similar play in the Blackhawks/Blues game on Saturday and I don't think he was even penalized
  21. I don't remember the name but I believe it is someone who works in the advertising or sales department there.
  22. Avery Peterson is a pretty good senior from there that is headed to Omaha.
  23. Everyone will be on Cooke for it but he has been a much different player. Watching that kneeing call I put that more on Barrie than Cooke the only reason it happens is Barrie trying to avoid a hit and almost diving out of the way. Avs getting all the calls in this one too refs must be intimidated by Roy.
  24. 2 tough losses for the Hawks but I would still bet on this series going 7 games. The probable Seabrook loss will hurt for a game or two but I still think the Hawks can go back to Chicago and get a couple wins.
  25. Not a smart play by Seabrook on that hit even if Backes would have probably done the same thing. Would guess he will probably be suspended and that definitely hurts the Hawks. Hawks have given up way too many late goals to the Blues already in this series just hope they can score one in OT and even the series up.
