  1. While I understand FargoU people defending Bresciani (I mean, these are the people who still defend Chapman), are they really trying to go to bat for his recent record on research, which was one of the things cited by the SBoHE as needing improvement? In the last 8 months NDSU has shut down their nano-research center, dropped in Carnegie classification (especially after previously making a huge deal about their ranking) and kicked the can down the road on a major research initiative instead of making actual budget cuts. But whatever, it is all UND's fault despite the SBoHE very much having a NDSU slant with 3 of the 7 non-student members having NDSU ties and exactly 1 member having UND ties.
  2. You're pretty naïve about the whole situation but I guess that makes it easier to toss blame around. While Gov. Schafer may have had the final say in the logo, there were many people from various stakeholder groups that had input on the design and those focus groups shaped the way the logo looked. I believe the final design was significantly different than the first draft presented and the input on the secondary logo that was designed caused it to be scrapped for now. And as UND1983 stated, Kelley got ripped for being all-inclusive (and it is how we ended up with the Fighting Hawks nickname) and now Schafer is getting ripped for not being more inclusive (even though there was quite a bit of outside input on the design/development). Again, it makes it easier to blame someone when there is no right way. As for the op-ed, Whitehead has an axe to grind and is using the emotion of the nickname/logo to do so, nothing more, nothing less.
  3. So wait, you want the name of the school promoted first and foremost but then you rail against UND for dropping the Fighting Sioux nickname even though a nickname is secondary. I'm also pretty sure you swore off supporting UND if they dropped the Fighting Sioux nickname because if they changed nicknames they would be a completely different team than what you supported even though the University of North Dakota didn't change and the name the school is the most important (since it should be promoted first and foremost). Do you ever get dizzy spinning yourself in circles with your nonsense?
  4. It's too bad, I've seen him volunteering at multiple things with kids and he does a great job. But yeah, he's done.
  5. Nah, there were no threats to close daycares.
  6. Like I said, NDSU should be thankful he was forced out when he was. DB openly stated they were on the verge of financial collapse. Whiskey Joe showed zero indication of changing course. He bet the farm and walked away leaving someone else to clean up the mess.
  7. Pretty much. Anyone paying attention knew he did what he wanted regardless of the cost or long term impact. NDSU should be thankful he was forced out when he was.
  8. Still need a home game for 2017. Schedule is now full for 2018. 2019 is a 12 game season and there is currently 1 FCS home and 1 FCS away game scheduled (SHSU/NDSU). Room for and FBS game and a 6th home game hopefully.
  9. Buccigross also doesn't seem to mind the new logo either:
  10. Guessing those games haven't been released. All that list has is the conference games and the away D-1 games that have been released. That being said, I wouldn't expect a ton of non-conference home games as per usual.
  11. My guess is the want/need to create an identity that isn't constantly confused with Notre Dame. I am surprised and a little disappointed that they are phasing out the interlocking ND but I've also heard how frustrating the identity confusion is for the athletes and athletic department.
  12. Probably not considering he said "picked the name" referring specifically a singular one, Fighting Hawks. Swing and a miss by Drake on this one.
  13. A cartoon bird with a headdress is what people were hoping for?
  14. I bet a lot of those you claim are "anti-hockey" have season tickets at the REA and spend a lot more money watching hockey than the "hockey-only" crowd spends at the Alerus or Betty.
  15. The Sioux Forever part despite not a single player on last year's team having ever wore the logo? I am a little confused that people can't seem to accept that it is painfully obvious that the hockey team has handled the entire process completely different than any other team on campus. Why is that fact so hard to admit for some?
  16. Instead of ripping the logo/jersey, maybe something simple like this would have sufficed:
  17. Unless he did some media interview after the fact, Berry didn't speak at the event today. The hockey team doesn't get carte blanche to do as they please because they won a National Championship. If they are told to watch what they put on social media, especially in regards to commentary about UND and/or the nickname/logo, it wouldn't be the first time.
  18. You apparently have never interacted with any former UND football players. And you apparently have never had a conversation with Bubba. If he's a company man, it is only because he cares more about UND than pretty much anyone out there, not because of something he is or isn't supposed to do.
  19. Companies like SME don't just mail in projects especially considering their brand is associated with the logo going forward. I've heard nothing but good things about SME and the process.
  20. Can we do an over/under on how many vote before it is released or don't change what they already have decided since they have their minds made up already?
  21. Smart guy here.
  22. Yeah, really sounds like that's what I "insisted". I don't see anywhere where I said it wouldn't or shouldn't happen but feel free to think that. You seemed to be the one who had an issue when the original break happened.
  23. What exactly are you not saying "I told you so" on? The affiliation deal was up for bid in Fargo, KFGO wanted the rights and sounds like they are doing to dedicate some major airtime to UND. Very excited to see that they are going to do a daily show, though I'm guessing material might run a little thin at times. The only thing I'm hoping is that UND has a strong buyout clause in it this time around.
