  1. No other offers at this point but interest from multiple area colleges. The talent is there, just a matter of putting and keeping the rest of it together at the next level.
  2. Braden Hanson and Alex Tillman seemed to work out pretty well. Some turn out, some don't, same as other recruits. It's not the way Bubba is working to build the program but sometimes it is what the staff feels is the best option. NDSU will be relying on one at running back and punter this year.
  3. Would taste better than bud light lime...
  4. Absolutely disgusting and embarrassing. A lot of projection and blame heaped on inanimate objects.
  5. Unintended results. There was zero thought given to an FBS move while the decision was being made, especially considering they tried to find ways to save both sports and cutting them was a last resort and was directed by Schafer. UND would still have Title IX issues without adding additional scholarships if they moved up to FBS. There were only 6-7 scholarships cut, going FBS would add 22.
  6. Quite certain at this point Dave would have rather Fleury played and they lost rather than having a young gun come in and lead them to the Cup. That "brief" hot streak he belittles lasted over two months and 26 games.
  7. No, we had a company that didn't follow the protocol for having their design considered. Again, UND didn't request a logo, they requested an entire new graphic identity package. And the $50k was peanuts compared to some of the bids. The only local company that bothered submitting a proposal had a fee 3x that and their proposal was pretty lacking to say the least. I think it's pretty confusing and amusing that everyone was so dead set on the new logo being unique, yet everyone is all of the sudden in favor of all these alternatives that look exactly like any other hawk minus the occasional extra set of feathers on their head.
  8. UND requested a complete graphic identity package, not just a logo and nothing prevented these guys from submitting a proposal.
  9. Is there a different article you're getting that from? Not saying that won't happen, because as @southpaw correctly pointed out, it is somewhat common, but nothing in the linked article seemed close to him saying that.
  10. First home track meet in over 30 years scheduled for February: Will be interesting to see what schools come up for this. There are some very big schools in the region that have shown interest in meets at the HPC due to the fast surface and it being a 300m track.
  11. They are in a top if not the top conference that has multiple bids each year. It makes money and has a reserve fund in case they don't. All pretty good reasons to be happy. Even if they aren't and wanted to leave, there is a buyout of $1.5 million with a 24 month required notice which only goes up if the timeframe is shortened. They can still play those other teams in non-conference match-ups if they were that important. I don't see them going anywhere.
  12. True but all the schools within NDUS are guilty of that, though NDSU is the clubhouse leader. However to continue to complain to the legislature about the condition of buildings while taking zero responsibility of it yourself is definitely an interesting strategy. I was impressed to see Schafer use some of the budget cuts/savings to put towards UND's boiler system being fixed regardless of whether state funds are granted to do it.
  13. Do you have any proof of all this stuff you are claiming? If input wasn't taken, I can with 100% certainty tell you that the logo that was released would not look like it does and people would be even more upset. The fact that it wasn't a cartoon character bird tells me that they definitely did listen to outside input. You're going to believe what you're going to believe, but just because you don't like the end result doesn't make your version of the story correct. Of course everyone wasn't going to get what they wanted because as with everything, opinion's are subjective. Getting everyone's input is exactly how we ended up being the Fighting Hawks. I can't even begin to imagine how a designer would 100% use everyone's input on a logo. It was also no secret that the logo was going to be rolled out before Schafer left. The plan was always to give Kennedy a clean slate to start with, which with how big of a mess the nickname issues has been for the last decade plus, was absolutely the right call.
  14. While I understand FargoU people defending Bresciani (I mean, these are the people who still defend Chapman), are they really trying to go to bat for his recent record on research, which was one of the things cited by the SBoHE as needing improvement? In the last 8 months NDSU has shut down their nano-research center, dropped in Carnegie classification (especially after previously making a huge deal about their ranking) and kicked the can down the road on a major research initiative instead of making actual budget cuts. But whatever, it is all UND's fault despite the SBoHE very much having a NDSU slant with 3 of the 7 non-student members having NDSU ties and exactly 1 member having UND ties.
  15. You're pretty naïve about the whole situation but I guess that makes it easier to toss blame around. While Gov. Schafer may have had the final say in the logo, there were many people from various stakeholder groups that had input on the design and those focus groups shaped the way the logo looked. I believe the final design was significantly different than the first draft presented and the input on the secondary logo that was designed caused it to be scrapped for now. And as UND1983 stated, Kelley got ripped for being all-inclusive (and it is how we ended up with the Fighting Hawks nickname) and now Schafer is getting ripped for not being more inclusive (even though there was quite a bit of outside input on the design/development). Again, it makes it easier to blame someone when there is no right way. As for the op-ed, Whitehead has an axe to grind and is using the emotion of the nickname/logo to do so, nothing more, nothing less.
  16. So wait, you want the name of the school promoted first and foremost but then you rail against UND for dropping the Fighting Sioux nickname even though a nickname is secondary. I'm also pretty sure you swore off supporting UND if they dropped the Fighting Sioux nickname because if they changed nicknames they would be a completely different team than what you supported even though the University of North Dakota didn't change and the name the school is the most important (since it should be promoted first and foremost). Do you ever get dizzy spinning yourself in circles with your nonsense?
  17. It's too bad, I've seen him volunteering at multiple things with kids and he does a great job. But yeah, he's done.
  18. Nah, there were no threats to close daycares.
  19. Like I said, NDSU should be thankful he was forced out when he was. DB openly stated they were on the verge of financial collapse. Whiskey Joe showed zero indication of changing course. He bet the farm and walked away leaving someone else to clean up the mess.
  20. Pretty much. Anyone paying attention knew he did what he wanted regardless of the cost or long term impact. NDSU should be thankful he was forced out when he was.
  21. Still need a home game for 2017. Schedule is now full for 2018. 2019 is a 12 game season and there is currently 1 FCS home and 1 FCS away game scheduled (SHSU/NDSU). Room for and FBS game and a 6th home game hopefully.
  22. Buccigross also doesn't seem to mind the new logo either:
  23. Guessing those games haven't been released. All that list has is the conference games and the away D-1 games that have been released. That being said, I wouldn't expect a ton of non-conference home games as per usual.
