  1. I think the future looks fairly good for the baseball team. The top two hitters on the team, average-wise, are both freshmen (Follis and Campbell); as of a week or two ago, when he was hitting .397 (he's now hitting .385), Follis had the highest batting average in the nation among freshmen. The top home run hitter on the team, with 11, is a freshman (Campbell). Also, all four starters in the weekend series just completed, three of which we won, were freshmen (Thome, Ruemmele, Clark, and Campbell), one of which has thrown two consecutive complete-game shutouts (Thome). Finally, only one non-pitcher starter, sometimes two, is a senior. The team is only 11-32 on the season but they've won 8 of their last 11. I think they're going to be pretty good in a year or two.
  2. Yada, yada, yada, blah, blah, blah, etc., etc., etc., repeat, repeat, repeat, and so on, and so on, and so on,................... This topic has been rehashed a thousand times from every angle known to mankind, and nothing new is ever presented; I think everyone knows where everyone else stands, so maybe we could move on to another topic? Just a suggestion.
  3. Nice scoop, MissSioux!! Keep them coming!
  4. Terrific! Great job and well-deserved, Hak. That's two pieces of good news in one day, including the stated return of Corban.
  5. I plead ignorance; please elaborate.
  6. Personalized interest can oftentimes be a determinant in a recruit making up his mind as to which school to commit to. With as many offers as we're making, I hope we're able to continue giving that kind of personalized interest to each student athlete that we're recruiting.
  7. The White Team looks stacked (Miller, Hansen, Jackson, et. al. on O and Brenneman, Nelson, and Benjamin, et. al. on D) for the Green/White game Sat.; I'll take them by two touchdowns.
  8. FIFY!
  9. Congratulation, Coach Hakstol! You did an unbelievable job of getting everything that you could out of our team, and more. You certainly deserved the award.
  10. Probably hard to evaluate now, with two of our starting offensive linemen (Lynch and Kleason) not participating in spring ball.
  11. I think someone mentioned that Illinois was Schluessner's territory and that he was largely responsible for all the good things happening there.
  12. Good post, Green Team. Whether or not the offended party is the poster, I totally agree with your recommendation that the offended party go to the offending party like a man to take care of the offense. That's a principal that has it's roots in Scripture (Matt. 18:15), and is the correct way to handle an offense. Hope you continue to post.
  13. My buddies and I love it, so there'll be more than one stop there! (Sorry, all you Red Pepper bashers ).
  14. Got a buddy, along with two other buddies, that came up with me to GF last Oct. for the IceBreaker who's a big BU fan, so looks like Nov.2-3 is our target weekend for driving up from KC next fall since, luckily, it coincides with a home football game (So. Utah).
  15. Just curious as to why you left out 2002-2004.
  16. Do I detect a hint of skepticism in your voice, er, post?
  17. Thanks for the research. Really puts into perspective how difficult it is for even the best of hockey programs to win a NC and how foolish it looks to bash one of the best coaches in the country for "not winning the big one."
  18. Thanks, GFG.
  19. 4-0 BC with about 7:30 to play.
  20. Thanks for the classy post; you verbalized the way that the vast majority of Fighting Sioux Fans feel.
  21. Sioux outshot Minn. 15-4 in the 3rd and 26-24 for the game.
  22. Thanks for verbalizing how the great majority of us feel. How pathetic to throw a coach under the bus who, in my mind, did an unbelievable job of getting this team this far this season, deserves the Naitonal Coach of the Year Award, and consistently does a great job every season. I love the character and heart demonstrated by the Fighting Sioux. I love winning as much as anyone (just finished my 23rd season of coaching high school basketball and have won several conference championships) but, honestly, there are more important things in life than winning a national championship in hockey or any other sport, for that matter.
  23. Good to have you on board, in your accustomed spot!
