  1. No kiddin'!!
  2. Agree, 'cept Rodwell's been out for the season for some time now .
  3. What a classy team; two players thrown out for dirty hits. Sad. Hope the Sioux stick 'em again tomorrow night.
  4. They're not allowed to host any postseason playoff games, though; the NCAA said.
  5. Just for the record, the Sioux have 10 freshmen on their roster, one of whom won't be cleared to play until next season.
  6. Totally agree. This team has faced unbelievable adversity and yet has been playing above itself for the last month and a half or two. Just getting into the tournament would be a great accomplishment. If all the underclassmen return next year, it could be another one of those really fun years, although this has been a fun year, also, because of the overachievement.
  7. According to the roster, Lynch is only a junior. Also, Coach Mussman or one of the other coaches mentioned on the live chat today that Lynch probablly wouldn't be ready for Spring Practice but that he should be good to go this fall, which should be a big help to the O-line.
  8. I agree, although I'd like to see us get another o-lineman and a running back (other than the fullback that has already verballed).
  9. To me, this is ideal, because now we should be able to red-shirt both Mollberg and Bartels and give them a year to learn the system, mature, and get stronger. Plus, hopefully Hanson will bring the maturity and leadership you'd expect from a 5th-yr. senior, and, with the receiving corps we have returning, with the running game we have to balance out a potentially good passing attack, things could get fairly interesting next season.
  10. Not surprised that you were onto this one, too. Thanks for the great job that you do!
  11. Nice! Very nice! Looks like this may have even taken SFI by surprise.
  12. We dressed and played 15 players at the Kansas game I attended last Saturday.
  13. Just my opinion, but I think character is way more important than how far or how accurately one can throw the football. It's especially important in a leadership position like QB. Hopefully, someone with character takes him under his wing and helps him mature and make the transition.
  14. I'll add a hearty "Amen" to that! I don't know whether it makes me reformed or orthodox, but you can't beat their combo tostadas and crunchy tacos.
  15. If he's losing trust in his non-starters, he may be in for a world of hurt as KU goes into their meatgrinder of a conference schedule. The UND game would have been a good opportunity for him to have played his subs to give them some experience going into the heart of their schedule where, invariably, they'll experience foul trouble, injuries, sickness, etc., and be forced to play their bench.
  16. I was at the game and I agree that our offense worked reasonably well, especially when you consider that it was against a team that traditionally is one of the best defensive teams in the country. Had we made just 3 or 4 of the missed layups, we'd have been in the mid-60's against a top-notch defensive team. We got a number of uncontested layups off our offense. I do think, however, that we need to look more consistently for our big man on the roll to the basket after he sets the pick. It seemed like that was open a few times against KU. Then if the help side comes off one of the corners, hit our open shooter in the corner.
  17. I was at the game and was, overall, pleased and proud of how the Sioux played. I felt that the Sioux, for the most part, played hard on defense and made them earn everything they got on offense, despite the fact that they scored 84 (they are, after all, one of the top teams in the country and played their big dogs for virtually the whole game). Robinson was just unstoppable today. It's an intimidating atmosphere to play in and the jitters were evident the first 8-10 minutes when we missed 3-4 layups and were guilty of offensive goaltending that cost us a bucket. Were it not for that, it would have been an 8-10 pt. ballgame at halftime. I thought Jones showed class by allowing all 12 or 13 players who were dressed to get some PT and experience the big-time setting first-hand. KU, on the other hand, kept their big dogs in until the last 2:45 of the game, which gave me the impression that they were tryng to run up the score, which they were never really able to do. It is hard for me to see why Robinson was left in for 34 minutes in a nonconference game that KU had well in hand by about 8 minutes or so into the second half. I will say that KU doesn't appear to have near the bench that they've had in the past, so maybe that's why they didn't pull their big dogs until 2:45 left to play. I was impressed with the fact that the Sioux never seemed to lose their poise, even in the face of KU's runs, and played very disciplined basketball on offense, for the most part. I left encouraged that we're going to have a good second half of the season.
  18. Thanks for the updates, WiSioux!
  19. Yep, mentioned the game to a client/friend of mine a couple of months ago and he went and used his connections to get us a couple of free tickets. Don't know where our seats are at yet, but we're supposed to meet our ticket-Santa at the box office @ 2:15 if you want to come by and introduce yourself. Plan on wearing my green and white, of course!
  20. Don't see anything on Wiki on him; what position does he play, etc., etc., etc.?
  21. We're sure going to have a large, and talented, bevy of receivers for Mollberg to throw to. Now we've got to recruit some good offensive linemen to protect him and ensure that we have a decent running game to complement the passing game.
  22. Good post ('cept for the Go Pack Go ). Did I read sometime back that Gaarder is a walkon and not on scholarship?
  23. Good point. Thanks, Scott.
  24. Because they are left-wing extremists catering to that element of their party. It's not about what's best for the country, it's about what's best politically.
