    Coach Sather's three pickups (Tyree, Amar, and Eli) last offseason were outstanding additions. If he can hang onto the four returners starters plus Eli and make another key pickup or two this offseason (a big and a shooter), I think we'll contend for the title next season. I hope that the underclassmen can see the potential and are willing to return and put in the work needed to earn a trip to the Big Dance. Good job by Coach Sather in turning this thing around. Which redshirts do you think will be ready to contribute next season? I'm thinking that Kraft will, but not sure about the others.

    We've got her and Pemberton to build around, maybe 1 or 2 others. We're going to need 3-4 more very good recruits in order to crack the top 3 in the Summit, recruits with a heart to play both ends of the floor.

    And would breaking up the large school co-ops have the effect of encouraging more girls to participate? And it would probably level the playing field so that there wouldn't be the same two or three schools at the top every year.

    DL coughed up two shorties, or it could have been a lot more interesting.

    Down 9 with, what, 5-6 minutes to play in a low-scoring game, only shot 37.5% from the field, and 22.7% from the arc. Says a lot about the team's character that we still managed to make enough clutch plays down the stretch to grind out a win. Perhaps we're learning how to win, which is saying something after the last couple of years.

    Totally agree with that. And I think that he's only going to get better as he adapts to D1 ball.

    Outrebounded USD 44-33, only 3 TO's the entire game, and lots of BIG shots down the stretch whenever the Coyotes were threatening to get back into it. Let's keep rolling Saturday. 1st or 2nd place potentially on the line?

    As part of that 8-game streak, they even managed to beat first-place West Fargo 2-1 after losing 4-1 in the first go-round. Their 8th-grade goaltender must really be coming around.

    Agree. She does have a little help, though, in that her senior teammate is the third leading scorer in the state. Pretty big dropoff after that, though. Two eighth grade defensemen. Would love to see them make state, also, so that I can catch a game online and see her play for the first time.

    Also leads the state in scoring again with 47 points.

    They're playing with urgency, especially on defense; I think that that's the difference. If they can pull off another W in Vermillion this Thursday, this will be the first time in at least three years that the 'SU game on Saturday will really mean something.

    Agree. Not sure we're missing much from a guy that doesn't honor his word/commitment. I don't care whether the 'SU job was a "better" opportunity; he'd already made another commitment.

    Pemberton is really smooth. Still very early, but the way she's going she'll be in contention for freshman of the year. Really like her play and attitude. Seems humble and coachable, a great combination, especially when coupled with skill.

    I'm thinking that he would be a good choice. Landry or King wouldn't be bad, either. All three former QB's.
