  1. As Gates Brown (pinch-hitter for the Tigers) once said, "I'd rather be lucky than good."
  2. Jack was one of my favorite players. I would guess that he was a great locker room guy, too. I will definitely miss him. Hope he has success at his next stop. Psalm 32:8.
  3. Probably to keep the defense "honest," but when you run the ball like we do, in that situation you probably continue running it until you're forced to pass. A number of factors that, in hindsight, could have/probably would have turned the game around.
  4. Poor coaching didn't drop the potential interception or rough the opposing QB in the end zone on 3rd and, what, 15 or more, either of which could have/probably would have turned that game around.
  5. I like the idea of a QB spy. But, I also think we need to bring 5-6 on every third and long. I know that we haven't gotten to the QB near often enough in these situations, but I also know that we can't let the QB sit there and pick us apart. As someone suggested, maybe we need to do a better job of disguising our blitzes, and I'd like to think that we'll improve and do a better job of getting to the QB. There have been a lot of instances where we've gotten to the QB a half a second too late.
  6. Seidl and Tai have definitely impressed in the limited opportunities that they've had. And their opportunities have been limited, at least in part, by the fact that our running back and receiving rooms are, IMO, pretty loaded; and also to preserve their red shirts.
  7. And Ziebarth is a stud. Absent any changes, he and Isaiah will form a formidable tandem next season. Not to mention Seidl.
  8. Usually 500-1,000 people come disguised as empty seats.
  9. Hopefully, Ziebarth is 100% and we can pound the rock. Isaiah is done a very good job in his absence and finally seems to be coming into his own. Gives us a great one-two punch, not to mention Skokna and Seidl.
  10. Work something out with MU, KU, and/or KState. They'd be a huge draw and would relieve the Summit teams from a big payout for a home game. They'd probably fill the T-Mobile, not to mention Municipal Auditoriuim.
  11. Hate it that you're stepping aside, but happy for you since it's for good reasons. Always enjoyed your writeups and input; Sioux basketball won't be the same without them. Hope that you have the freedom to return soon. Would love to meet you in person someday.
  12. Yes, and USD also left 7 on the field with the fumble at the goalline.
  13. Thanks. That's good news.
  14. Skokna got hurt and didn't play the second half. Didn't hear Pedigo's name called yesterday. Assuming he's out injured, too?
  15. I was debating the same thing (driving up to UNI) back in 2006. I decided to go and ended up seeing the best game that I've ever seen--until last Saturday.
  16. Not sure where to put this, but great article on Skokna by Miller in the Herald. https://www.grandforksherald.com/sports/college/growing-up-in-a-family-of-10-kids-shaped-und-running-back-luke-skoknas-football-career
  17. I agree. I thought that Miller played very well, except for the int.
