These refs in the NCHC are over matched. Last week there was phantom offside after offside called against UND. Tonight they call a penalty that was a crosscheck, but miss the embellishment and that embellishment player scores the game winner. Gee have we seen this before?

Every arena that is built now has the fiber available. Southpaw hit it on the head. Until midco starts to pick up the major advertisers, there will not be the money available for the road games. I would love to see Hammer and Kober going to every game too. Then we hit on another note, would Kober go out of town? Be happy with what we are getting for out of town coverage and hopefully we can sync Hennesey with the tv.

We are at the point in the schedule where the rubber meets the road. Will be good for us to see where this team is against the creme de la creme of the nation. 10 games to define a season. Lets get this thing rolling.

Watching N. Schmaltz play last night, it seems like he is just a stride slow. I don't know if he is hurting or what is going on. Ever since he came back from the worlds, he just hasn't been the same.

This post is off point at the least. If you look at at the REA in and of itself, I believe Ralph played hockey there. Green and Toews brings back the cup after they wins it. Toews is one of those players who stayed 2 years I believe. This team wouldn't get the recruits it does if it didn't have the tradition it does. Those former players are sending their sons to play for UND. You have players throughout the NHL that talk about how they wish they could bottle what they had at Grand Forks and take it with them. A Please don't rip down Hockey to try and prove a point, because there is no better sporting program than another. Phil Jackson talks about his days at UND, Jim Kleinsauser about his, I could go on and on. Yes it is sad to see the other programs suffering right now, but they are up and coming. Basketball made the big dance last year and football is on good hands with its current coach.

So if you are looking for a comparison here, this st cloud game was like the Iowa State game for the Bison. They estimated that there were 3 thousand Bison fans in Iowa. I have seen 1-2 thousand NDSU fans travel down to SD for games. Of coarse there are going to be large numbers of NDSU fans traveling for a National championship game. I was at the xcel a few years back and the stadium was half UND fans, which for NCAA hockey tourney is tough to do because of how you aquire tickets with priority seating. So you saying hockey is maxed out, is wrong. It is a niche sport and not everyone gets into it, but it is the golden goose for UND and will always be.

You make a few good points about NDSU, but I beg to differ about your main point here. UND is more focused on Hockey and that is just the way it is. When you say the Alumni are disenfranchised, I think you haven't been to a game at the x cel or a road hockey game in St. Cloud, Duluth, Omaha, or Denver. Just as a point, my wife and I were at the SCSU UND hockey game in St. Cloud, and I would be willing to say that there were about 2000 UND fans at this game. The place seats maybe 5-6 thousand. How is this loosing interest from alumi? This Hockey team is what most people in the country associate with UND. Just like NDSU has its football team.

I too am glad that they are playing again. One of my best memories of the series was Kleinsauser running away from the d in the dome. It was an eye opening play that probably got him a spot on the Vikings. Wish this series was a year in year out rival game again.

EXPLAINABLE? Just thought I would add one

I have to say, this is probably as big a game for UND this year as they get. UND has to show the NCHC that last nights game was an exception, not the rule. First, this team better bring its skates tonight. they looked a step slow last night. In saying that, I have a feeling this team comes out and figures out how to spread the game out for more open shots tonight. Duluths goalie is beatable, they just have to get him moving. I foresee Cags getting a goal and O'Donnel scoring tonight too. With that happening, this team wins 4-1 tonight.

I am not a UND or NDSU Alum, I am a North Dakota resident. I have to say this state has 2 great storied programs that make this state proud. Way to go NDSU on winning the 4th Natty. Being a western ND guy, it is awesome to see 2 Bismarck boys bring this home for us at the end. Now my focus will turn to the Sioux Hockey team. Lets make this a year to remember for ND. I love the proud traditions, pure Legendary.

Lets stop talking about the penalties and call it for what it was. The boys came out slow and didn't pick it up until the 3rd. I don't think they come out playing that way tonight. If they do, the dogz sweep us on home ice. Zane had no chance on at least 3 of the 4 goals(not being in net for the 4th). He was the reason they were only down 1 going into the 3rd. This goalie is the MVP of the team and now the team needs to get his back and score some of those open net shots they had last night.

This is where this hockey team starts to build its case for a high seed in the tourney. UND can make a statement this weekend with a strong showing. Duluth is a tough team who have beaten a few teams that were rated number one in the nation at one time or another. One weekend does not define a team, but it can sure help the team figure its makeup.

it is not NCHC's fault, it is DU having or not having their ducks in a row. I have a theory that they do have their ducks in a row and are anti UND. I would question how much of the actual subscription to NCHC TV is actually UND following. I would put money that it is a lot bigger than we all suspect.

My wife and I will be going to the game Friday night. I hope there is a good contingent of Sioux fans.

UND students are one of the major reasons that he was brought in as a spokesman in favor of this amendment. I am disappointed that they would use a MN native to support a ND amendment. I hope it goes down in a blaze.

This Hoffner just doesn't get it. He said he was loyal? He apparently isn't a man of his word. Now his former team of 2 years ago shuns him. He had a new start in Minot and walked away from it. Talk about a clown in a circus.

So per Johnny krazinski ap writer for Minnesota region, the gopher hockey program is the Yankees of college hockey. I would have to say they are the Mets. Simply not up to par with my thinking. 7>5, 9>7, 12 years in a row in NCAA's. Last time I checked, we are ranked on national championships and Gophers are in 5th (corrected by fellow siouxsportster)as far as I can tell.

I find it odd that the Minnesota college fan base decided to riot after a win in semi final game. I now see why the Don has decided that the UND Minnesota rivalry is unhealthy, if after every game Dinkytown is going to be ripped apart by its own fan base.
