Finally heard something back on this, was told UND declined to sign the contract for 9/21/2013 vs USD @ Sioux Falls. No word on 2014. Would've been nice to have a driveable road game.

Well, now that we have seen them? My 2 cents: Generally I prefer tradition and would say alternate only. However, the current green setup (which I have never liked) now looks even more mediocre compared to the new black. This actually looks like a D-1 football uniform circa 2012. Shelve the green jerseys (for now).

If UND spends money on black "alternates" and doesn't replace the primary home and away unis, that is a fail. The uniforms of the past few years are generic and cheap looking. There are teams in the EDC that dress better.

The right move. Hopefully, the money was solid and the budget for assistants improves as well.

Just a tenant? They are the whole reason the damn thing exists in the first place. The single most important tenant for the Alerus Center was involved in those discussions. Alerus' decision to get involved was because UND was the single most important tenant.

Gate City did a separate deal to specifically name the field. It would only be different if Gate City didn't understand that the combination of their logo alongside the NDSU logo does them a better service than just their logo. But, to their credit Gate City understands that.

I posted on this a while back, but I could not and can not find a college football field in the country where the Corporate Sponsor has full domain over all midfield designs. I dont know who negotiated that agreement, but to give up brand authority like that is, well, dumb.

It is remarkable that despite the prominent placement of the logos of a prominent ND financial institution, the powers that be found a way to shoehorn a team logo onto the center of the field. A feat that rivals such American accomplishments as the building of Hoover Dam or the Apollo space program.

It's good to know that our football team operates in a vacuum and the fact that a preseason favorite in our new conference ( who we play this season in the biggest home game in 10 years) losing its starting quarterback has no bearing at all on our football team and it's upcoming season.
