Assuming Notre Dame is gone, one has to assume that 8 is the number for the foreseeable future. No legitimate expansion options out there in my view. One school that would interest me as a new upgraded Program down the road would be St Thomas. They are in the metro, they have a large and loyal alumni base, the have the national academic rankings to keep IrishSiouxFan happy (USNews #115 National University) and they have lots and lots of money. I have no idea if they would ever consider it but they would be a nice addition to D-1.

The acceptance rate is dropping as well, which is a good sign. UND (per USNews) sits at 70 percent, which is the lowest of the Dakota Schools.

At the very least we know that Faison and BGs AD have had extensive conversations about something. Faison mentioned on last week's coaches show that UND has agreed to travel to BG for football, though he did not say the year.

Seems to be the consensus that ND is not coming. But, what other options do they have exactly? Independence is untenable (imo). Hockey East appears to be out and the BigTen would take a gigantic philosophical shift for ND as an institution. Odds still heavily favor ND to "The National."

With the addition of SCSU, the NCHC will have 6 of the top 10 attendance leaders in the NCAA last year.

Thats my point. That problem could be mitigated if the NCHC didn't go with a true round robin schedule in order to allow for more non-conference games.

If ND comes in, they will want an unbalanced schedule and the NCHC will agree. What does the SCSU move mean to a WCHA Moorhead marriage?

It is annoying UND cant find green helmets that match the green jerseys. Also, it seemed to me there are different colors green helmets depending on manufacturer. Considering the above, I would not mind UND returning to white helmets (which they wore til 1970) with the correct color ND logo.

Well, fresno is currently beating Nebraska so I'm not with you there. However, mussman has one job this year and only one. Give Sioux fans legitimate hope for next year. That's it. He doesn't have to beat the defending national champs or beat a BigTen team while they are in transition. He just needs to provide some hope. If he can't do that he should and I think will be canned. Wait, I've just been informed that South Dakota has accomplished the two things listed above. South Dakota?!? South freaking Dakota?!?!
