I couldn’t tell you who is a better goaltender, but I can tell you the team seems to play better with Thome in net right now. Part of me wonders if it has to do with knowing Thome being a freshman and not as experienced that causes them to play harder in front of him.
The only stat I care about is wins. If Thome can get us those, leave him in.
I’m here to help!
Honestly, I want to see Mismash do well. I don’t think he’s someone who can “carry” a line himself yet. More of a complimentary player right now.
They desperately need Jones healthy. He has offensive chemistry with pretty much everyone - that’s why he is the leading forward scorer.
Everytime we find a line combo that works, someone gets injured.
From my viewpoint, they are currently getting 2nd line minutes because Jones (and Hoff) isn’t available to center the 2nd line and they’re not putting Adams or Mismash at 2nd line center.
Then again, Mismash has disappeared since December so he might as well be in the stands at this point.
I also thought it was a quick pull. I thought it was the right move at the time for momentum purposes, but it didn’t really change how the game was going in the end.
Defense was porous on those goals.
Yeah for some reason my memory stores every little detail about my favorite sports teams...
So if anyone has any questions about a game in the last 12 years, I may know the answer...
Just to add on- another reason he’s out there a lot is because he’s one of the top face off guys. With Gardner being out recently and now Jones out, we’ll see more of him when there’s important draws.
Senden is a potential future captain. He’s captain of the Force, captained a state title team, plays against other teams top lines. He has a lot of intangibles.
Jost staying would have changed the dynamic of the team significantly. It would drop Gardner to 2nd line center and Jones to 3rd line center, and that 3rd line would have created a mismatch for other teams.
He’s already signed his LOI, which you can get out of, but it is a bit more firm than just a verbal. I’m not sure they’d have him sign it in the early signing period if they weren’t sure about bringing him in. Seems weird to me.
JBD could be ready, but like you said, logjam at D with no seniors this year and only one possible early departure. I bet he stays in juniors, and would like to see him in the USHL, but not sure that’s likely.
