  1. The difference between the UND players last year and DU's this year is most of our players that did leave after the natty had turned down pro contracts the previous year. Not often do players turn down pro contracts twice, especially after winning a natty.
  2. Anything that makes Duluth fans unhappy, makes me happy.
  3. He was injured late in the year, didn't go on the trip out to Western Michigan, but came back later, but the bottom of the lineup just fluctuated a lot at the end of the year. I think it's a matter of preference. I prefer Yon over guys like Gornall and Smith, but others prefer those two over others. That's not to say I don't like those two players, just if I had to pick... I prefer speed over size.
  4. Garrett Clarke played with Aaron Dell later on in the lower minor leagues. There was an article about that and his regrets with not going NCAA.
  5. Curious why we are even talking about Wolanin at forward when he is the only established offensive defenseman we have? (obviously assuming Tucker leaves) Unless I'm completely off base here...
  6. Gonna guess it comes out of this group: Olson, Simonson, Gardner, Wolanin.
  7. I think it could be worse. Man, I hope the incoming freshman are real good...
  8. He was right but it took Jordan a while after that to sign. I think it was premature last time because he said that a week after the Frozen Four that year and Jordan didn't sign until after Brad Berry was announced as Hak's successor. So I think Jordan was still debating at that time.
  9. It was amusing to hear the announcers/commentators try to substitute NCAA experience with WJC experience for the BU guys. Don't get me wrong it's great experience to have but I felt it was completely over emphasized. It wasn't like BU didn't have any guys with NCAA experience. They'd been in the title game 2 years ago, made the tourney last year as well... I didn't get it.
  10. Wilkie and Gersich are among that group.
  11. It's not arrogance. If it is, that goes both ways. I'm sure those "fellow league members" would cheer for us in the same situation. Oh wait. I've seen this story before. Nevermind.
  12. That didn't make me feel good because I expected that...
  13. Wisconsin, Minnesota for sure. I assume the usual Bemidji series. Heard we open in Alaska and Union at home I believe (but not sure if I mixed up a future season) edit: Checked Schlossman's blog and all the above plus our other series is St Lawrence.
  14. Pretty telling when him and Rhett are the ones to address the media after a loss like yesterday's. What leaders do. I think among underclassmen a clear leadership group emerged this year. Didn't see it right away, but I think it's clear now.
  15. I'll be honest. I probably was just a little over sensitive yesterday. I had a terrible day prior to the game and everything just made me upset. I'm a big enough person to admit when I overreact to things. I remember Frattin's vividly as I spoke with him that day and asked him when we were going to see him in the NHL and the kid said nothing lol.
  16. In regards to Peski... what a massive progression in a pretty short period of time. Had some mistakes early on but after that was solid and kept getting better. I personally went from feeling slightly uneasy with him on ice to complete confidence in defensive abilities. I really like how our D is looking for next year.
  17. I heard we open in Alaska. Non-Conf there's Minnesota and Wisconsin, and I think Union is making their return trip (unless that's a season out)
  18. Support Brock (and Troy) and wish them well, but I CANNOT support the Canucks lol.
  19. I didn't go to the game, but I honestly can't fault anyone who left. I don't know if I would have stayed, I guess it would have depended how my day was going. (Case in point: I was having a really bad day before the game so today probably would have been one I left). Hopefully more fans will return for the UMD/BU game tomorrow. They played in the regional final a couple years ago and from what I remember I'm guessing UMD probably still remembers that one also, so it should be a good game. Another experience vs young talent showdown.
  20. I disagree based on what I've seen over the years, but respect your opinion.
  21. I don't want to come across as being salty/bitter/insert adjective here and if anyone wants to call me that... I've been called worse so have at it ... but when you're ready to sign so soon after a heart breaking season ending loss, that doesn't make me feel all that great. That said, this isn't about me and isn't something I didn't expect. Appreciate his contributions in his time here and wish him the best.
  22. Absolutely wanted a better ending for Tucker. I think that's one of the hardest things for me. Kid gave everything he had to help this team.
  23. Yup, I figure because they were all out East and those fans don't show up at times... I got tickets for Philly a few days before we left on Ticketmaster and I got a ticket for the championship game in Tampa the day before.
  24. It's actually not sold out. Check out Ticketmaster. I think the last one it was sold out was the one at the X. Past that I don't believe any have sold out.
