  1. I agree. He had issues at the NTDP, not sure what they were, but safe to say a red flag has gone up.
  2. We pulled his offer if I recall (off ice issues) so not sure why we would be...?
  3. They are “special” people, that’s for sure.
  4. Waiting for the Duluth/SCSU kiddies to chim in on that one...
  5. Pretty sure it’s just an oversight. Senden will be at UND in the fall.
  6. They did the game against BC in NYC. And that was in December. They can deviate if they want to. If the NCHC was involved like they were with the NYC game this game would be on CBS. Hopefully it will be streamed on NCHC TV.
  7. I’m not sure if he will play center either, at least to start. Weatherby was specifically mentioned as being a center, but one that will be played at wing next year. I think to start the season they will go with our experienced centers and adjust if it will benefit the team. Obviously eventually they will need to get experience at center considering are top 2 centers will be seniors.
  8. Weatherby is not in their plans at center for next year. I heard this on a podcast.
  9. Moving Bowen to third line creates a problem on the 4th line- who would center that line? We return 4 centers (Jones, Gardner, Hoff, Bowen) and 2 others who played a few games at center (Mismash and Adams). You gotta keep Bowen at 4th line center unless an incoming freshman emerges as a 4th line center option. Hain might be a good option on that 3rd line you suggested in Bowen’s place.
  10. I think it’s more likely a battle to be on Gardner’s line since he’s the top 6 center looking for new linemates. I don’t see them breaking up the Mismash- Jones-Guch line if we already know it works. Especially considering the struggles to find lines that work this last season.
  11. Hoff, Adams, or a freshman? The others I prefer in the bottom 6.
  12. I like that you brought up Luke Reid. He’s one of a bunch of recruits that rarely (if ever) are discussed on this board.
  13. Do you have some inside knowledge?
  14. I’m still bitter about it. (And I think a lot of people are based on conversations in the stands at REA this past season.) Is that bad?
  15. If people want to stress over recruiting, it’s fine. Offseason has been real boring and we all need to pass the time somehow. I think next year’s team will be more skilled than last year’s.
  16. The “recruiting is down” narrative is an overreaction to how the season went. It has little to do with recruiting and more to do with the lack of development of certain players already on campus. Because of this lack of development, people are looking at future players, failing to realize not many freshmen can make an instant impact right away like some would like. This is obviously just my observation of things.
  17. I used 10 points as the minimum, in my defense. I don’t think you can expect 10 points from someone (Yon) who can barely crack the lineup as it is. Bowen had 5 points this season, 15 would be stretching it for me, but I could see in the 10-15 range being reasonable. Hoff, I’d like to see him toughen up a bit so he’s not injured or hurt every other week. I think he could reach 20 points if he can stay healthy. They dont need to light up the score sheet, but they need to be better than they were this year or they’ll be in the stands.
  18. Lol no one expects those three to light the world on fire. I don’t think expecting two of those three to contribute 10 + points or so is asking too much.
  19. Yup. That’s why it’s an unknown with new guys, so I’m hesitant to assume *insert team here* will be okay based purely on their incoming recruits who haven’t yet shown anything at the college level. We’ve thought recruits would dominate here before too and have been wrong. Lesson learned for me. On Thome, he’s got the leg up because he has the experience, but that doesn’t mean he’ll keep it.
  20. The defense on the 2016 team was so good because they basically had the same core defensive unit for 3 years. Our current group this last season had no seniors and lost just one guy early. This is the beginning of a strong group back there. Even without seeing the new guys, I feel good about the returning group there.
  21. Yeah but he’s an unknown at this level. You can’t replace experience.
  22. Yup. They lost most of their offense and their goalie. Emphasis on goalie. If their new guys aren’t up to speed quickly, they might be in trouble early in the season until they adjust.
  23. Why can’t you let us diss our opponents? I kid, I kid...
  24. I’d rather have a bunch of guys with PP abilities than be over reliant on 1 guy to do everything back there. Like Wolanin this last year and Poolman the year before.
  25. I guess my point was that while ISS has him high, Central Scouting had him at 62nd among just North American skaters. And Mock drafts had him around 58th pick. That’s a big difference, so that’s why I don’t think he’ll go in the first round. We’ll see how the draft goes. I think we’ll know if he’s coming in the fall once his season ends.
