At the moment the portal goalie options are not great. Hopefully the selection improves after more teams are eliminated. Because right now I think I’d take my chances with Hedquist.

No idea but I looked him up on elite prospects and I have actually seen him play before lol. His team was in the National Junior A championships in Canada in 2019. I was in Alberta when the tournament was going on so I went to some games.

There’s been a lot of discussion about the portal for a defenseman and goaltender, but I actually was wondering about a forward. Like if they could find another Connor Ford type who could win draws. I thought that area couldn’t use some improvement.

Star Tribune posted in their preview that they went 2-6-3 to close the regular season so of those 7 wins, it appears most were probably in January.

We don’t actually know about Frisch returning though, right? Or did I miss that? I know we hope he returns.

Last time we played Denver a 5th time after going 0-4 against them in the regular season, UND won the semi-final Final Five game against DU and went on to beat SCSU in the championship. 2010 I believe.

Third place game remained until Covid I think. They just recently eliminated it.

Not technically. We’ve gone down there a few times not knowing our NCAA fate. This is just the first time knowing we need to win both games.

Michigan also had 5 less than 20 win seasons since 2010. (Not counting the Covid season of 2020-21) I believe that threshold was discussed previously also.

SCSU has also never lost in the Frozen Faceoff semis. I’m hoping that means they are due for a loss.

It’s always been like that because CBS won’t let them stream their games. I’ve never been able to watch a Frozen Faceoff game I didn’t attend. Im sure there’s some free trials on a streaming service that carries CBS sports if you haven’t used up all free trials.

I didn’t see the final box, but Mid-game I looked at the box score and everyone but 8 was getting killed on draws. He wasn’t great either but won more than he was losing at that point.

After Friday’s game I can’t remember where I saw it, but someone said Brandt needs to talk about UND more and is too complimentary of the other teams we play. Then Berry says this last night.

We have zero chance to make the NCAA Tournament as an at large according to the probability matrix so I’m not sure why it matters. Win and get to play another game.
