  1. UNDER. Because rarely are players scoring 30 goals these days.
  2. I actually heard another podcast with Chris Peters over the summer and he was asked what college hockey program he would recommend for top prospects to consider and he specifically mentioned UND and UMD as his top two college hockey programs.
  3. Yeah that’s definitely not right. UND brings back 74% of scoring back, which is one of the higher returns I’ve seen.
  4. it also says before he even listed the teams that it isn’t meant to be a top teams list lol
  5. I have no idea what some of you people are looking at so I have decided You must be looking at last year’s ranking because this year’s ranking UND is 4 and SCSU is 12. Pretty sure we were 11 in last year’s though.
  6. The one from Chris Peters on FloHockey wasn’t even a ranking. It’s just teams to watch for various reasons.
  7. Ha I was going to say I thought we’d been pretty good prior to Thanksgiving recently… The 19-20 team had 1 loss in the entire first half.
  8. I don’t know for sure, but I kind of feel like it was just assumed we were. But considering we tend to recruit mostly out of junior hockey these days and he’s at Shattuck I never really thought he was considered a high priority.
  9. I absolutely expect James and McLaughlin to be top 6/top 9 guys. Just strictly based on listening to Berry (and even Senden more recently) talk in a few interviews in preseason. Mostly I just want them to try new combos in the top 6. For example, Gaber - Schmaltz- Caulfield was a line we saw a lot last year. I’d like to see something different. I also am in the minority opinion that I’d like them to split up the Hain-Jammer-Senden line. They can always go back to it later, but I think we should experiment early on and see if something else works better and potentially put together a stronger 4th line that could produce more than they have recently. just my opinion though!
  10. lol I barely keep up with the dates of who we are playing this month, let alone a year or two away I just know the series exists ha.
  11. Someone tweeted him about it and he replied that he’s likely headed BCHL, but since we don’t yet know where exactly he is headed there’s not much to report on just yet.
  12. Well I hope we don’t go that route yet. I’d hate to give up on the kid too soon. He’s 18, tried to challenge himself by trying to go to a better league and it didn’t work out. I’d like to see how the season plays out in the BCHL if that’s where he ends up.
  13. I also looked at Denver’s returning players and I think they seem top heavy up front. They return 3 players who scored more than 19 points last season. But everyone else back from last season didn’t seem to produce a ton. They’ll definitely need production from their new players or they might have some issues. Their d-core has a lot of returners though, so I’m thinking that’s where their strength will be. But in general I think UND is a deeper team, at least on paper.
  14. That and they’ve in general had limited success against us in the last 3 seasons. 0-2 last season. 2-5 the year before, 0-3-1 the year before that. Hopefully this pattern continues for us.
  15. I hope Denver falls flat on their faces in completely embarrassing fashion.
  16. I am also interested to see how he does. I feel like a lot of our forward commits are on the smaller side, and it seems he brings something different.
  17. If it makes you feel better the scheduling agreement with the Gophers ends after next season and there’s apparently not a new scheduling agreement in place once that ends, so we might never see him while he’s there.
  18. This is correct - he’s a young one. There was discussion on him back in August on Twitter and it was mentioned he can’t commit for another year.
  19. Their hatred is the greatest compliment they can give us.
  20. I feel like conference polls tend to differ at times significantly from national preseason polls because the voters for conference polls know more about the teams they are voting on. So nothing would shock me.
  21. UND has faired pretty well historically at Western. I know we got swept there last year but prior to that, it’d been a while.
  22. That second line is one I dreamed up in my head this summer that I felt like Berry would never go for
  23. It’s very simple. If we provide our goaltender with more goal support then we won’t need to nitpick the goaltending as much *by “we” I mean UND*
