  1. i'm really glad i put whiny, negative people on ignore.
  2. I don't mean to be a b*tch here... but why are you here? i mean, you clearly don't have any faith. it's a tough game, and the negativity is really pissing me off.
  3. I know you get like one year tuition paid by the league for each year you play in the league for studies if you choose to do that. I'm not sure on financial compensation. I think there's some sort of financial package, but I've heard the opposite as well. It's vague and depends if you ask an American or a Canadian. Canadian's seem to think the USHL and some of those lower tier leagues give athletes compensation also...
  4. IMO, major juniors is for players who won't play in college very long b/c they are closer to NHL-ready. Physically, they might have the strength to play in the NHL, but need more game action to develop their game. College is for players who maybe need more time in the weight room to develop physically and more practice time to refine their skills. It really does depend on where a player is at if you ask me. FOr some major junior is better, for others college is better. And then there are those special players that would make it to the nhl no matter where they chose to play.
  5. but that's not what the question was, and that's all i'm sayin'.
  6. which helps no one out of the WDAZ viewing area. ALL home games are supposed to be on FCS, so that is what I'm going with whether it shows up on my guide or not.
  7. Granted that we haven't played CC yet... I don't know how I would feel about playing them. I don't know how we match up this year with them. I've seen a few of their games but it's difficult to say how we would do against them until we play them at the end of the season. I don't think much of SCSU or Minny...or UMD for that matter. I think this weekend will be a huge factor in where we finish at the end of the season in the league. I hate to say it, but I think we need a sweep to pull us even with CC and Wisco because we have a bye week after DU series. (Wisco has non-conf this weekend) It's going to be hard to move up and make up some ground without a) some sweeps and b) help from others.
  8. It's not like Cornell is the first team to ever get screwed over non-calls though. It happens to everyone at some point. (see: UND's current season) I didn't watch or listen to the game since I had to work, but I've seen plenty of non calls lead to goals and Cornell should have found a way to overcome that if they deserved to win last night. And IF a penalty WAS called there's really no way of knowing if it would have changed the final result anyways. Would Cornell have scored on that powerplay had they gotten a penalty? Who knows. Non-calls go both ways, and I'm sure you know that.
  9. From what I got out of the article, when he was referring to "big city" he was referring to what he liked about Boston, not big cities in general. But really... who doesn't like big cities at that age?
  10. I'll take Fratts.
  11. I'm gonna go off the board here and go with Mike Cichy
  12. I'm going to the Saturday game! I'm taking my Dad since my other friend bailed. He hasn't been to a game since Gwoz's walk across the ice, so he's excited
  13. funny how the timing of this series is eerily similar to the timing of the Cornell series last year. 1- Last year we played Cornell after getting 1 point on the road to UMD. This year we play Cornell after getting 1 point on the road to Minny. 2- I don't think I would want to be Cornell right now. (though I'm not one of the negative Nancy's on this board either)
  14. I've turned the page. I'm ready for Cornell. (hopefully by Friday-ish, the boys will be too) I'm in a bubble of positivity right now. Go SiouX!
  15. You said it! I'm not willing to live in a world of doom and gloom. Things could be better, but they sure as hell could be worse also. Moving on.... bring on 'Kato!
  16. Thatta boy Kristo! 4-2 USA baby!
  17. i heard back in october he MIGHT have an opportunity to join the team around Christmas. So I think this process started before the struggles of the team began. But that was just joining the team, not being eligible to play. That said, anyone who thinks they reinstated him because of Zajac and Genoway being out is overanalyzing the situation a bit too much IMO. Matt being able to come back was really in Matt's hands and if the coaching staff feel this is the right move for the team, I'm all for it.
  18. their fans were all like, "it's okay...we've won 5 straight world jrs so this doesn't matter and the USA will never beat us there" in defense of their performance at under-18s if any USA fans tried to rub it in.
  19. If I was offered a job in Canada, I'd take it just so I can get TSN.
  20. Joe has been injured. Hand injury I think. He had surgery so he's out for a while.
  21. I don't think Phaneuf has had a particularly great season, not discounting the past though... and who do you take off Canada's blue line and put him on? Most of what I've heard from the Canadian media and fans the past few months didn't feel he should be on the team either. Phaneuf isn't even the call up if one of the 7 doesn't go because of injuries or something, from what I heard Bouwmeester is next in line should one of the d-men get injured before the Games. And if I'm Canada, you can't leave off Niedermayer, Pronger, Weber, Keith, and Seabrook. Boyle and Doughty may have been surprises though IMO.
  22. Well, they are bringing the whole team to Chicago so it just doesn't seem right to leave the poor guy at home!
  23. It was announced Brodeur, Fleury and Luongo. In that order.
  24. Fratts coming back is in no way related to Chay's situation. Chay will come back when he's able to. And it will be a very happy day in Sioux country.
  25. I'm glad I don't share this attitude. In general, this apathy towards many issues is the downfall of this world we live in.
