This was my thought prior to the season starting. I just looked at the roster, didn't see a lot of seniors, looked at the recruits, and thought anything we do this year would be a great building block for next year.

I never discount the US, but in looking at the roster, I have a hard time seeing us coming home winners. (But I'm hoping for it!) Let's just hope it's my unfamiliarity with some of the players on the roster. I love a good Canadian meltdown.

Um... we've been putting the Pattyn line against the opponents top line?

They're just rotating Ausmus and Thompson is all. Want to develop both, so giving them both a game. They did the same thing with Marto and LaPoint years ago when they were freshmen.

On TV you could hear Jackson yelling for goaltender interference, but Kober and Hammer had no clue what they were reviewing. It's like they think they only review goals to make sure the puck goes in the net.

No. They gave Ridder 2 instead. I won't comment on that one.

He didn't seem too pleased about Notre Dame hosting at Compton, judging by the press conference video.

LOL. I've seen ONE Gopher game on TV this year and it was on a Sunday. And I live in suburban Minneapolis. Their games get shoved on an alternate channel normal people with cable don't get most of the time, including the game tonight.

YES. St Lawrence had 2 last year and didn't even make the tournament.

Just gonna add my 2 cents. Additionally, you're not going to put Thompson at fwd because considering he hasn't yet been able to crack the lineup at his natural position, it's just asking too much of a young guy to have him play out of position. Panz and Ausmus are our 6/7 defenseman, so having them play fwd leaves us with a still somewhat in-tact d-core. Mattson... Yeah I know some people hate to admit it, but he's one of our top 4 D and taking him out is a bad idea that would weaken our top 4.

There is a limit on players that are allowed to travel. I just don't know the exact number.

Whether the girl was #6 on a list of potential recruits or not, you definitely should not show the girl the freaking list. That's so rude. You can be upfront with a girl in many ways, and that is just not okay. Sit down and talk face to face with the girl. That's a more respectful way to go about it. And you should NEVER promise anyone ice time. That's just asking for trouble.

I'm not going, but I know a lot of people that are. Wish I was though, I've always wanted to go to Boston.

When Mantha committed he was a 2014 or 2015 guy. If he gets drafted super high, which I doubt because he's currently projected as a mid round pick and his style of defensemen doesn't typically go high, then I could see him coming in, or if Schmaltz signs after this year, which I also don't see happening. 2015 is a better time for him to come in based on who likely will be leaving. I've only seen Mantha play once and it was at that All American Prospects game, so it's hard for me to judge his readiness to come in and get in the lineup. If he's not going to crack it, he should stay at SIoux City. Granted, I also thought Keaton should have played another year of juniors as he really seemed to struggle down the stretch last season and at the world jr evaluation camp. I also like Ausmus better than Panz. He had a tough game last Saturday in Omaha, so Panz was able to get in and apparently played well, but all I remembered was him taking a dumb penalty.

The older kid that just committed is not coming next year. Tucker Poolman is coming. Mantha is probably a maybe at this point. At some point, Keaton has to get in the lineup. Hopefully we can see him in some of the non-conference games and see where he's at. But at this point all accounts are that he's not ready yet for a regular lineup spot. And to be honest, I was surprised to see Panz back in last night.

I think we're currently trying to get rid of that exclusivity problem so we can get our games back on FCS. That's the best idea in my opinion because keeping CBS showing NCHC games plus having our games on FCS increases national exposure for the league.

I knew I was dragging this place in the wrong direction...
